Description of Work: In May, Inspected recently cut tree stump, found carpenter ant evidence, sprayed the stump. In June, responded to view captured flying ant. Diagnosis: not a carpenter ant, but a sugar ant. I found Mr. Kelly to be professional and caring, with no attempt to "up-sell". Would definitely use again and would recommend to others. | |

Description of Work: I had a bedbug problem. I called a few exterminators, left messages and didn't even get a live person or a phone call back. I actually did join Angie's List and checkout some of the exterminators, and picked Kelly Exterminating. A woman answered the phone, explained what the procedure will be, what I should do to prepare for my visit and answered my questions regarding the chemicals used. She booked an appointment for me the very next day. When the exterminator arrived, he was polite, very helpful, and professional. He told me this is a growing problem, and if for some reason after the extermination, if I see any bed bugs with in 30 days, he would return for free. I have not not seen any bed bugs!

Description of Work: For the last 2 summers we have had an infestation of cicada killing wasps, and Ryan has taken care of them. Because they are difficult to eradicate, he asked for me to let him know if/when I saw them again, and each time I called him, he responded quickly. This year, I thought I had some bees destroying a part of the outside of my house. Again, Ryan came quickly and advised me that the problem was not bees. Even though the problem was not one that he could help with, he took the time to go into my narrow crawlspace to make sure that there was no internal problem that was causing the destruction. For that visit, he went above and beyond what he had to do and he did not charge me anything. He is a professional, and I recommend him highly.

Description of Work: Found what looked to be like termite wings in my boiler room. Ryan who came by said I definitely had a swarm at some point, but he recommended I wait until next spring to see if if it happens again alas saving me 2000 dollars for treatment! He was on time, courteous and HONEST most importantly. I would highly recommend his company and I will call him back if I need an exterminator in the future!

+ -1 moreI called around for quotes and Kelly Exterminating's price ($125-175) was about $100 cheaper than that of two bigger companies ($250) for the same service. Their service people were friendly and professional. They scheduled the appointment quickly and the exterminator was prompt on the day of the appointment. The exterminator clearly explained the process of extermination (spraying a powder directly into the nest), how long it would take (about 10 mins) and the results we could expect (no more yellow jackets by the very next day).

Although there was the possibility of a cost for a complete inspection, Kelly didn't charge it because we had gotten a good idea of our situation from the first inspections. The first (local) exterminator wanted to inject a pesticide all around the foundations - this sounded like a good idea initially. The second exterminator was from a national chain and said the house was "riddled" with termites (not true) and tried very hard to sell us on a bait system and yearly maintenance. The third (and local) exterminator was highly recommended on Angie's List - and they suggested the bait system too - but we felt their commitment to once a month inspection and maintenance of the bait system was more reliable than the national chain (we internet researched the chain and found several references to bad service). The Kelly man came, inspected, the bait stations were installed within a week with minimal evidence. We were confident we made the right decision.
Description of Work: We had minor evidence of termite infestation on the exterior of our home and slight internal clues. We had not had an exterminator inspection for the 30 years we owned the house, so we thought it was time. We called a local service and a national chain for inspections. All came and inspected - we got different solutions from each one. We then called another local service.

+ -1 moreKelly was the only company to charge us for a termite inspection (only $125) and did not try to sell us $1500 - $3000 in preventive services. They ascertained that we did not require full termite prevention program and offered a solution that was inexpensive and comforting We would use them again for any and all service they provide. They were absolutely the most thorough and honest.

Unfortunatel,y his poisoning of the nest drove the Yellowjackets into the house, so he came back again to locate the entry point the insects were exploiting to enter the house and to make sure they were destroyed. Mission accomplished - no more Yellowjackets.
Description of Work: We needed to kill Yellowjackets that had built a substantial nest in a hard-to-reach part of the outside of the house. The real problem was that they had figured out a way to get inside the house, too - a scary scene because the problem got worse and worse and because we have two very small children.

+ -1 moreIT WAS GOOD. WE CONTACTED THEM, AND THEY CAME. THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. WE WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IF WE HAD TO. THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD. UNFORTUNATELY WITH INSECTS IT'S HARD TO KNOW. THEY SOMETIMES COME BACK ANYWAYS. IT WAS A HECK OF A LOT BETTER AFTERWARDS. IT WAS VERY GOOD.
