The service cost me about $200. I had a coupon which knocked off about $60. I felt good about the service they provided. They did a good job. I thought it took longer than I thought it would be to get the part, but the washer is about 13 years old so maybe that was the issue. I think they know the General Electric product and they do a good job when they had the tools and parts that they needed. I am going to use them again this week because the same thing is happening again so they have to come out and check it.
Description of Work: I used a General Electric service person to replace a suspension piece in a General Electric stackable, front loading washing machine.

The first dryer that I received was not heating up. After about a month of phone calls and various people coming in, they sent me a 2nd dryer. That lasted for about a year and a half, it stopped working again. After my past experience with GE, I called a private company to look at my dryer. As soon as he came in he said my motor was shot. So I called GE directly to tell them and they said I can pay $425 to repair, or I can get a new dryer for wholesale at $389. So not wanting any more aggravation, I chose to pay for another dryer. So now I have my third dryer and it is also defective. After fighting with them on the phone, they agreed to send me a 4th dryer. They gave me an extra year extension on the warranty. When they delivered the fourth dryer, they didnt call me first to set up the drop off time. So they showed up at my house at 7am and basically forced me to sign off on it without my inspecting it. When I tried to call GE and let them know about my experience with that drop off technician, she said I already signed off on the dryer and there was nothing I could do.
Description of Work: I purchased a new washer and dryer from Sears, that were GE Brand.

Description of Work: I have had a service contact with GE for nearly 10 years. I pay monthly, and this entitles me to free service when I need a repair (which I have only required a handful of times) After switching to a new service contract company (Service Protection Advantage), the quality and timeliness of work has taken a nose dive. This is my second negative experience with GE, in the last couple of years. Scheduling is relatively fast (I got an appointment within 24 hours), but timeliness and professionalism are abysmal. Most recently, I waited for four hours, despite having a "window" of time for service. No call/emails/updates. When I called, to check the status of the repairman, I was told the the system was down, and no information was available. Repair man finally showed up at the last minute of the time window, and immediately asked to use my rest room, having performed no work (and leaving me with a bathroom to clean up). Twenty minutes into the service call, he finally started to repair my freezer. Totally unpleasant repair man, and experience. I am now looking for another contract, after being loyal to GE for nearly a decade.

Description of Work: A GE technician was called when my less than 5-years-old GE refrigerator's freezer section stopped working. The technician came out and identified the problem as one that should not occur on such a recent purchase. He fixed the problem and only charged us about $250.00, which I believe was for the diagnosis but no charge for the repair or parts. Very pleased.

I called the toll-free number and scheduled an appointment with them. They were very responsive and did the whole thing online. I called them after my dishwasher problem reoccurred after it was initially fixed by another company. The person who showed up wasn’t probably the best educated person I have seen, but he was thorough and immediately started working on the dishwasher. He went to the back of it and pulled out one valve and replaced it. The dishwasher has been fine ever since. I also got a discount. They were quite helpful, and I was pleased with their service. There was a charge for them to show up and another charge for the parts and installation. My overall experience with them was quite good.
Description of Work: I used General Electric Co. to repair my dishwasher.

I scheduled a service call online through the GE website. The appointment was confirmed by phone and email. The service man determined immediately what was causing the problem. He showed me what was wrong and then he replaced the part. He was prompt, courteous and efficient.

The repair person was prompt and professional and he explained the root of the problem when I asked him. The cost was high.compared to the amount of time that it took to diagnose and fix the problem.

I used the telephone number on the GE website. The appointment was made for the next day. On the day of service, we received a call indicating we were next on the list. We later received a call from the repairman that he was on the way and gave us approximate time of arrival. He was efficient and direct and, fixed our problem. Before calling this number, I did try several of those on your list with an A rating. Three, although listing that they serviced Queens, did not service my area (Forest Hills) and in one case, their serviceman for my area was on vacation.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator (about 15 yrs. old) was not cooling properly (freezer and refrigerator) and we really thought a new one might be necessary. Instead, he cleaned the condenser, checked the back of the unit for any possible problems and explained how best to set controls in both refrigerator and freezer that we had been setting incorrectly. The refrigerator is working normally now. My husband and I were very satisfied and would certainly call again if necessary.
