 + 0 moreJack the owner gave me a quote to wash and stain deck. I gave him a deposit of $750. Work never done and after repeated calls and stopping by his apt he refuses to refund my dposit. If this has happened to anyone else please contact me

Description of Work: Jack Glover took deposit, never showed up, never returned calls. Work finally performed by another company. Big disappointment as they had done good work in past. Found others with same complaint on internet. Reported to Steuben County District Attorney.

 + -1 moreThey took all our money and then disappeared. I have called them repeatedly and they neither answer or call me back. I reported them to the Police who have also attempted to contact them but the company has not returned their calls either. The job is half completed and there is no sign of them returning. I highly recommend no one do business with this company because they are thieves and con-artists.
Description of Work: A friend of mine had an experience with Grape Lakes Painting and this is their story: They started the job, stated it would cost more money, recieved the payment in weekly draw as stated in the contract. They received all their money and did not return. The project is roughly half done and it has been almost 3 months since last contact. The owner, Jack Glover, took all the payment but did not pay any of his workers.

 + 1 moreWe had a contract for $3,000 down, $3,000 toward materials and weekly draw of $2,500 to pay for labor. They only worked a couple of Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's. Never Friday or Monday. Each week a different crew showed up. I continued to pay my weekly draw so as not to "break" the contract. After 8 weeks of payment no one showed up. Couldn't reach owner or partner by phone. Some phones were disconnected, calls unanswered. Later learned the workers were not paid. Anyone thinking of working for or using this outfit BEWARE! Not only is the owner Jack Glover a liar and thief but his partner Greg Bell is as well. We are in process of filing suit against both.
Description of Work: Contracted to repair, scrape, wash, caulk, install vent buttons, replace 2 porch roofs, prime and paint house and front porch. They only stripped house down, made a few minor repairs, washed, primed and applied one coat of paint to half of house and half of garage then disappeared. Front porch spindles were left in a large trash bag. Roofing materials on walk where they were delivered back in April. Not enough paint to finish job.

 + 1 moreWork was performed most expeditiously, as quoted, as promised, by skilled, friendly crew that worked very well together. The experience was most pleasurable in the total lack of hassle and the high quality of the finished product. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: Painted exterior of home and garage, replaced garage doors, repaired roofs.
