Description of Work: I got a quote from Pat White Construction for some structural work on our front wall.

Description of Work: My existing 7'x9' brick and concrete porch was replaced with a 8'x10' porch made from composite material (Timber Tech). Pat White Construction (PWC) is one of several local companies authorized by Timber Tech to do the work, which means training is involved. After researching numerous companies and receiving estimates, I chose PWC for several reasons: Pat responded to my phone call in a timely manner, both in setting up an appointment and delivering the completed estimate; PWC worked within my budget while still providing a high quality product; PWC spent a significant amount of time explaining the product and the process. I chose not to have the entire old porch taken down/removed, which was a cost saver. The brick/concrete stairs were removed, however, and replaced with a more narrow set of stairs. The job included digging 2 holes, 42" deep, for the concrete reinforced, pressure-treated wood posts which were installed; constructing a pressure treated wood porch frame; and installing pressure treated wood porch railing posts and stair frame.. PWC laid down strips of zinc oxide over the old porch to prevent mold/mildew from forming. The Timber Tech boards were then laid down over the frame and were also used to complete the stairs and the "skirt" around the porch. The wooden porch railing posts were fitted over with Timber Tech maintenance free posts and the railings were of the same material. I chose to have the more expensive screws used in the project as they were recessed and made the finished product look more professional.
