Ballou Paving And Sealing

Ballou paving tore out and installed a driveway at a different location for us 9 years ago and did a great job. We decided to go with them again, this time with a project 4 times larger. I wanted to make sure it was installed before winter came and confidently paid a substantial deposit to ensure it would happen as promised at the end of September. It Did and we Love it! this morning we got to see how nicely it drained the rain as Chris planned it. This is an excellent team and they have my endorsement twice.

All work performed professionally and punctual. The stone base was installed deeper than expected and extended beyond the perimeter of the driveway ensuring a strong base for the blacktop. All surfaces pitched properly to allow runoff away from home even with some difficult pitches due to existing terrain.

Others be aware of this company. Originally contacted the company on may 25th, 2016. Was told I would be put on their 2 week list to get my driveway resealed. However, I never heard from the company until I re-contacted on June 22nd. Was told my driveway would be resealed either june 24th or the 27th. Received a phone call on the 23rd stating my driveway would be done on the 24th, and to expect them between 7-4pm. No one ever showed up to do my driveway, and when I called on the 24th I was never contacted back, and then my husband recalled today and once again have not received a call back. Talk about poor communication, and a poor way to run a business. This company came highly recommended to us, and I have been severally disappointed by their lack of communication, and professionalism. I have looked now elsewhere to have my driveway resealed, and will not contact the company further.

Overall, I was pleased with the service. They came and did an estimate for the driveway within a week an a half of me calling and offered what I thought was a reasonable price ($140 + tax). They used enough sealant to put a good coat across the whole driveway and they did not spray or spread any sealant on the grass or other areas where it's not supposed to go. The coating looks very nice and is professionally done. They did not edge trim around the driveway, but our driveway is not overgrown, so it did not need edge trimming anyway. The one negative out of the experience is that they originally told me that they would be out to seal the driveway on the upcoming Thursday or Friday and that they would call the next day and let me know which day they would do the job. I did not hear from them again for two weeks and was at the point where I was going to get an estimate from another company when they finally called and scheduled to come out in 3 days. They showed up when they said they would and did the job.

Mid June came and went and never received a call. I called them over and over again and left message after message. Finally got a call back from his office person. She was real nice and apologized profusely. Said Chris will give me a call. Got a call 3 days later after I continued to call to get an estimated date. About the end of July I got a call from Chris saying that their was no way he could do the job for the cost of the estimate. I was not happy with the way he strung us around for over two months and then pulls something like that.

I called this company twice to get my driveway sealed . My neighbor was getting his done and I thought both of us could have them done at the same time. I never got a call back. After seeing the horrible job they did on my neighbor's I'm glad I didn't get a call back

It went fine. Only issue is that I tried to reach them last Fall (2013) and left messages but they never called me back. Wanted to schedule another sealing for last Fall but they never got back to me.

They sealed our driveway for the second time. The first time was the summer of 2010. We do it every other year per the recommendation of the company that did the paving. They did a nice clean job both times. The sealant seems to have a better quality than the stuff other companies have applied. The price seems good for a 90 foot, double-wide driveway. Part of it is triple-wide.

I called Ballou and left a message asking for an estimate on sealing my driveway on a Friday. They returned my call on Monday and sent an estimator out on Tuesday. The quote he provided was close to the rough estimate they gave me on the phone. They came to do the job within two weeks. They did the sealcoating very fast - two people spread it with brushes/squeegies and it was dry within 24 hours. It was a much better job than the company I used the prior year and 25% cheaper.

When these guys came to seal our driveway, the foreman (I believe his name was Kyle) was unbearably rude. The owner, Chris is very nice but we will never hire them again based upon the nastiness of his workers. Next time we blacktop or seal the driveway, we'll be hiring someone who believes in customer service.
