I’m so happy with the job the guys did. I had to have two tree stumps ground out before the work could be done. The tree stump guys broke my fence gate, and turns out they left one stump in the ground which I couldn’t see under the mess they left. Jason and his crew were able to get the stump out, remove an old slate patio, and create a beautiful new extended patio for me. I had jokingly pointed out a pile of slate chips in my backyard that were an eyesore. When they finished up that day, I saw that Jason had pushed down the pile of chips so they are no longer visible from my yard, and they fixed my fence gate! Such nice guys, all of them. Thank you for my beautiful patio!

Very happy with the finished product. Communication could have been a little better and I would have appreciated a "tips" sheet when done that would have made suggestions for maintenance, sealing, snow removal (Salt vs Calcium), (recommended type of snow shovel), (is a snowblower Okay?) etc.

Description of Work: We had a very good experience with this company and have recommended their services to friends and neighbors. Jason Hoffman arrived promptly for our scheduled appointment. He listened to our ideas and provided knowledgeable suggestions. He took the time to answer all of our questions. His estimate was reasonable and within the range we anticipated. Our project- stamped concrete front walkway to our porch, was scheduled 3 weeks out and completed on time. The team showed up on time and did a beautiful job. We were very pleased with the outcome.

I like them a lot, that's why I called them back for that second job. They are very professional and tell you exactly what they are going to do and when they needed to do it. The results are excellent. People have commented on what a good job they did.

Met with Jason Hoffman to obtain an estimate, he was professional and polite and the estimate was very competitive. There were some delays in having the work performed due to weather and a high work load for the company. Also, as a result of being busy, return phone calls were delayed but eventually we were able to get the job scheduled and completed. The patio came out great and is a big improvement over the old deck. Jason and his crew were punctual and professional. Will consider them for future concrete work.
Description of Work: Installed a stamped concrete patio, approximately 18' x 22'.

Jason called me back within 24 hours to set the initial appointment to survey the work area. He came out to inspect the work to be done that very same week. He provided an estimate for the work and allowed time for my mother and I to review his photos to finalize a design pattern and color. He left an estimate with us and when we called him back the next day to hire him, he let us know the approximate month he would be able to start. So much is dependent upon the weather for these types of projects, but he was true to his word and called us when he was ready to start. He and his team pulled up the old patio pavers in the rain. When the weather cleared, he and his team were immediately back to set the forms, poor the concrete and stamp the pattern. Jason was always around to check on his team. The patio was done as promised with all the rain we have had. He even took time to carefully protect the plants surrounding the patio. My mother has Alzheimer's and he did a fabulous job assuring her and his workers never created any anxiety for her while they worked. Jason is also redoing my walkway and porch and I am sure his workmanship will be as wonderful as my mom's new patio!
Description of Work: Jason and his crew removed existing patio blocks and replaced them with a stamped concrete patio at my mother's home.

Went well overall. Talked with Jason Hoffman and he explained the procedure and gave me a written estimate. The guys arrived on the day and time arranged, they sealed the concrete, cleaned up and overall did a good job.
Description of Work: The company resealed my stamped concrete patio and pool. it was reasonably priced for the large area and the workers were very efficient and pleasant. I was very satisfied with the job done as it is hard to find resealing professionals who are knowledgeable about stamped concrete.

Tony and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would and started to put up the framing for the walkway and patio on day 1. It took them most of the morning to prepare the area for framing. They finished up for the day just after lunchtime. Day 2 they completed the framing. I think that they didn't move too quickly on getting the framing completed because they had scheduled the concrete for day 3. While they worked on the framing the foreman said that they would pour the concrete for the patio on day 3 and then do the walk on day 4. However on day 3 the foreman said they Tony was trying to cut corners and wanted to pour the whole thing in one day. He wasn't very happy and made it clear that he thought that it was a bad idea. Turns out he was right. The concrete truck showed up on time and started to pour what was supposed to be concrete but to me it looked more like wet sand and gravel. The load was very dry and was setting up very very quickly. This made it very hard for the workers to work the concrete. The concrete ended up drying quickly which caused problems when they went to stamp it. There was a portion of the patio that was in the shade that turned out very good. However, the portion of the patio that was in the sun didn't. The texture is nonexistent however there is color and you can see a pattern. Since the concrete was dry the stamp didn't penetrate and only left colored marks for the pattern. In addition there was a number of large cracks that appeared because of how hard they were hitting the stamp. They didn't even attempt to stamp the walk that day and said they'd have to put a skim coat on and stamp that on day 4. On day 4 there was rain in the air so they did some cleaning and did the cuts. On day 5 they put a bonding material down (said it was like glue) and then put a skim coat down. (I've talked to a few other concrete contractors about this and they all said it will come up in a year.) They colored and stamped the skim coat which looks very good now. On day 6 only 2 guys came by to put the sealer on and do clean up. The sealer was well done however clean up was another story. During the pour because the guys where moving so fast and trying to hurry the dumped a few (3) wheelbarrows of concrete in the yard. I am still puling pieces of concrete out of the grass and have a big piece of asphalt that they cut off the edge of the drive to meet up with the walkway laying in a pile. I expected clean up to be much better and to at least have the dirt around the edges racked out. I do like the way that it looks however as I stated above there is a large portion of the patio that doesn't have any texture and I am very concerned about the skim coat. After the job was completed Tony called asking for the second half of the payment which he said had increased by $600 due to the amount of concrete that was needed. In reality it was due to his error in doing a single pour instead of 2. Originally, it was to take 4 days for the job but because Tony was trying to cut cornered I have a sub par patio with potential future problems and it took 6 days.
Description of Work: Tony's crew installed a stamped concrete patio and walkway.

Response from Hoffman Stamped Concrete LLC
This job didn't turn out as well as we hoped. We were delayed by weather forecasts that were predicting severe thunderstorms that never arrived. We also believe we got what is called a "hot load" of concrete, which sets up quickly but the concrete co. will never admit to that. The concrete was setting up as it came down the shoot. The spilled concrete came from uneven ground and a new laborer pushing the wheelbarrow. We did clean and rake the sight upon completion and a few pebbles may have been missed. My Foreman is no longer with me. He was more interested in making his life easy than working. He misread the concrete when he was pouring and could have taken measures to help the hot load. We didn't stamp the walkways on the job because the concrete was to hard. We opted for doing the Toppings instead which is a common practice. We did toppings over a pooldeck we poured that was pelted by golf ball size hail and it came out fine. Toppings are used often when resurfacing concrete and match the original pour. In our agreement about extra concrete if needed the $600 was never paid and I didn't make an issue of it because of some of the mistakes. Extra steps were added to the job which weren't charged for either. Steps and a retaining wall take quite a bit of extra concrete. I will admit it wasn't our finest hour but sometimes things happen that you have no control over and employee error does occur. We put in extra time and effort to try and correct any mistakes. 75% of the job turned out nice with one section having some problems. Concrete has a mind of it's own and sometimes it's hard to deal with. Every job is different and some have higher degrees of difficulty. This job being on the higher end of difficulty with steps and a retaining wall and a hot load of concrete. I was delayed arriving on the job until it was about a third of the way done. It was not a big job but I would have poured it differently than my foreman. In my 30 years of pouring concrete I've dealt with several hot loads of concrete but they are a rarity and tough to deal with. Wish I wasn't delayed, as I am always punctual and maybe some of the mistakes could have been avoided.

They were very good at returning phone calls and the crew was very polite and friendly. We had a little delay due to weather but that is not their fault. They had to wait for the weather because of the rain. Their pricing was similar to asphalt so it was competitive. Other than that I feel they did a very good job and will use them again in the future.
