Description of Work: I put in a query via Angie's List a week ago for an estimate, but have not heard back. We live in Caton, south of Ithaca, so maybe we are out of their service area? Not sure. Would be nice to at least get some kind of response.

We asked for help with consulting also, but Plantsmen does not perform consulting as a standalone service. But they provided a referral and we were able to get that service through their referral.

 + -1 moreI will go with them. They seemed to know what they were doing. It was a very positive experience. They quoted $4000 for the work. They knew what plants would grow in my area and my soils. They work with a lot of made of plants. They haven't come back with the quote for the second area. I am hoping to hear from them soon. The estimate is high, but I know they are good.
Description of Work: Plantsmen Nursery gave me an estimate to put shrubs along the sideway & driveway.

 + -1 moreFirst the owner came over and looked at our whole yard. Together we developed a plan in 3 stages. The first stage was the front yard. The nursery provided plants that do well in our area and also that were deer resistant. They installed several bushes, 2 of which were quite large. They removed the sod near a birch tree to create a new bed. Mulching of all plants was included. Two workers came on a holiday to complete the work.

 + 0 moreThe landscaping in front was completely redesigned, The old plants and bushes were removed and new plants installing in fall 2011. It is too early now in summer 2012 to see the full effect of the new planting, but so far the plants look healthy and are ignored by the deer as promised. The landscape designer made a few mistakes regarding some of the plants when she wrote up the order. I fortunately caught them in time. It is a good idea to check all details of the order.

Our retail nursery is open 7 days a week from April thru October and we can arrange for delivery and/or installation of any plants we sell. We also offer erosion control, pond shore restoration and many other kinds of environmental restoration plantings. And we do landscape maintenance, whether ongoing or seasonal.
We do not offer heavy equipment work in the form of drainage and excavation. We do not do lawn mowing or lawn maintenance. We do not offer snow plowing.
