STERLING CONSTRUCTION INC

Sterling performed a job at my neighbors house which included building a window seat, crown molding, molding around an already existing set of bookcases, chair rail, spackle and paint. The neighbor was very happy with the work performed and the time frame in which they got the job done. Based upon neighbors recommendation and the quality of the work I saw with regard to the crown molding, I called to set up an appointment. I did not hear from the contractor and mentioned this to my neighbor. She stated that he had mentioned to her that he got a message from me but that he had been busy and was intending to call me. Despite this, I called again and left a second message. After the second message, he did call me back but stated that he never got my first message. Even with this, I went ahead and scheduled a walk through. He arrived on time and stated that he was interested in the two projects and wrote the details and took measurements needed to provide us with an estimate. He said he would get the estimate to us within three days. After 5 days, I called him and he apologized that he got busy and hadn't prepared our estimate yet, and that he would do it that upcoming weekend and send it to us via email. Again, never received. I called him the middle of that week and left a message, no avail. I called again and left message at the end of that week, no avail. My husband called him the following week, no avail. I called him again the middle of the following week and asked that he have the curtesy to call us and let us know if he was no longer interested in the job. No avail. Interestingly, when he was leaving the estimate meeting, he commented that my home was a "money pit". I was offended by that a bit but also realized that a smart contractor would equate "money pit" equals "gravy train". Go figure.
