Description of Work: They seal coated the asphault driveway. They came when they said they would, performed the job professionally and the coating lasted for about six to eight weeks. My only concern was whether they used the best seal-coat.

Our sealer is coal tar sealer mixed with 35% water and has a sand additive. We apply it using horse hair brooms. Coal tar is the most durable sealer on the market. Over time the sealer will lose its darkness and durability. I always recommend getting the blacktop sealed once a year because those are the driveways that look the best and last the longest. They did not get the job.
Description of Work: I contacted Marty's Seal Coating. The price they quoted was fair enogh, but when I tried to pin them down to a date for the service, they wouldn't give me one. They said we'll call you a couple of days before we come and let you know when we will be there. I explained that I had to be away for a few days at some point and would need to schedule my travel around them and needed a date certain to do that. They again refused to provide me with a date to do the work, so I told them that if they couldn't give me a date to do the work, I couldn't do business with them.

Giving the member an exact date and time for seal coating his driveway is very difficult to do in this line of work. We tried to explain to him that everything we do revolves around the weather and its very difficult to schedule appointments like a doctors office will. Our schedule constantly changes due to the weather forecast and there are times we do not seal coat because of rain in the forecast. We do not take the chance of seal coating when the weather forecast predicts rain. Everything we do is weather permitting and the only thing we can promise is that we will call you the day before we come. Based on 13 years of experience in this business, I did not want to promise the member a day we could seal his driveway and not show up because of unpredictable weather. Marty's Seal Coating would like to apologize to the member for not being able to meet his schedule requirements but we hope we can do business in the future with him.
