Great experience, this was a very big job. I own a 100 year old multiple family home. We are adding a full house sprinkler system to it and has to have a 4 inch main from across the street into the house. The large team of 4 to 5 guys worked for 4 days to get everything done. They hooked into city line, under the main two way street into the house. The crew put down rubber mats to keep the dug up dirt off grass to keep damage to minimum. Over all team did a great job and I would recommend and hire them for future jobs.

There are lot of plumbers that can take care of frozen pipes inside the house, but it takes a special expertise that not many have in this area. He was very busy but was able to squeeze me in between other clients. He came out the next day and the service only took about 45 minutes to an hour. I found the price to be fair. I would recommend him, and I would use their services again.

Was referred by my regular plumber to Great Lakes to do heavy duty excavation work. Tried all summer to get a response, leaving messages and not getting call back. Finally got a woman who answered the phone and scheduled a date for the plumber to come and provide an estimate. I left a reminder call the day of the appointment. No one came. No one responded to my follow up call. This is the worst service I have ever encountered.

He was very honest with us when he told us that the job actually did not need to be done if we did not want to spend the money right now. He even went to the city boards to make sure what we had was up to code, and gave us a bunch advise at no cost. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with any contractor.

They were excellent. Their price was much better than others. Their price was excellent. It was quite a bit lower than several of the places I called. They were prompt and they did exactly what they said they would do. Their workers were professional and courteous. They did everything in one day and I was well pleased with their service.

The initial phase of the work was performed professionally and with care. The crew was neat, efficient and frequently checked by the owner, Dennis, who also coordinated with our contractor who was installing a porch after the plumbing work was complete. Great care was shown in the installation of the work to minimize damage to the yard and trees, which we sincerely appreciated. We were, however, disappointed with the follow-up. Specifically, we asked the company to send us an itemized statement for our records. This never materialized. Also, there were two concerns with the work that resulted after the porch was completed. First, there had been no planning for a gutter run off on the porch which was not hooked into the new bubbler line. Second, the new sump pump was incredibly loud due to the placement of the checkvalve. We called Great Lakes in early November with these concerns and had to wait nearly two months for them to be addressed. To Dennis' credit, his crew did return on December 30 to tie in the gutter drain to the bubbler and provided a temporary fix to the loud checkvalve; these services have not been billed separately. We still need to contact a plumber to re-install the checkvalve.

Description of Work: Dennis dug up the front lawn and replaced the sewer vent which had been vandalized by disgruntled tenants.(softballs stuffed ventpipe). Dennis used a camera to diagnose the problem and then fixed it. I was happy with the result.

It went well. Theirs was the lowest estimate (and we got them through a recommendation from a friend who'd had the same problem the year before). At the estimate, I initially thought that the guy was a little overbearing, but when they came to do the job, they were prompt and courteous. They even told us to get another estimate for the concrete (clearly not their main job), but we were a bit lazy and decided to have them do it anyway. Overall a good experience; I would recommend to friends.
Description of Work: Problem with sewer trap that caused sewage to back up into basement. Another company cleaned out the basement; Great Lakes repaired the trap and replaced the concrete in the sidewalk that had to be removed for the job. There's no category for "sewer repair" on Angie's List, for some reason.

We called Great Lakes Plumbing during an emergency. We needed it done right away. They came out and completed the job quickly and even followed with a phone call to make sure everything was okay.
