Description of Work: I had asked for a estimate on fixing or replacing my sidewalk. Mike surveyed the area and provided multiple choices. Very professional. We chose not to get the work done because of another conflicting financial responsibility. I plan to when we are able.

Description of Work: I set an appointment for an estimate on a retaining wall and various masonry work. The gentleman that came out for the estimate was punctual, professional, provided pictures of work performed and was very informative. Although I did not have the work done, I would recommend doing business with this company based on my experience doing this initial process.

+ -1 moreWent great. Mike and his guys got the job done in a couple of days, stayed on estimate, and it looks fantastic. Mike even helped us decide on the materials and the design. Mike also re-routed a drain so water would not pool on the walk and filled in some gaps with top soil and seed and trimmed a few bushes. When they left everything was clean and the job was completely done. The guy knows his stuff.
Description of Work: Installed a concrete paver walkway, a Belgium block border with river rock in between, and replaced the wooden steps to the deck with matching blocks and caps.

+ -1 moreHis crew arrived and immediately went to work staging a neat area to keep their tools and equipment on our driveway and then proceeded to prep the area around our existing stairs by carefully clearing and digging footings to tie the new structure into the existing structure. They always worked quickly and efficiently and left the areas neat and clean at the end of the day. Their attention to detail with the new stairs was great! The new stairs look fantastic and we're confident they will last for years to come. We are totally pleased with the finished stairs and would highly recommend Mike and his crew for any masonry job you might need done. It only took them 2 days to complete the work!
Description of Work: Mike and his crew enlarged our front concrete steps and landing and then covered them with bluestone treads and landing and dressed the sides with beautiful fieldstone.

+ 0 moreThe work was speedy, from 1st estimate on Thursday to completion Saturday 2 days later. Mike was professional, responsive and had fantastic input as to the look and layout of the final border. His team was polite, worked hard, and not to be ignored, did an excellent clean up job after to work was done. We are very pleaded with the look of the border and amazed how much it improves to look of the front of our house. I could not recommend Mike more.
Description of Work: The work Mike and his team did was natural stone borders around the plantings in the front of our house. When we moved in 8 years ago we tried to do a field stone border, not so good. We then tried to loose lay a natural stone border ourselves, it left much to be desired. First I would like to say the work done was excellent, professional, speedy, and immensely added to the curb appeal of our home. The team - Removed all earlier stones; - Trenched out a border; - Laid and beautifully fitted new stone with mortar for strength; - Cleared weeds in the plantings; - Leveled the earth in the plantings; - Filled in behind the border with mulch. What I most appreciated was Mike's suggestions as to the layout, bringing one side out to the stone walk, creating a small annual bed by the kitchen door. Everything looks wonderful

+ -1 moreMike showed up on time for the estimate and scope of the work, and his price was fair and competitive. He offered some valuable design suggestions and modifications to my original plan. He supplied a written estimate. We agreed and he set a date to begin only a couple of days later.The start date was delayed by one day due to heavy rain. Mike had estimated three days of work to completion. Mike and his crew showed up every day on time and the entire job ,including cleanup, was completed in three consecutive days. The attention to detail and the workmanship were outstanding. The pool patio is beautiful and the center piece of our yard.
Description of Work: Mike and his crew installed approx. 1300 sq. ft. of pavers around inground pool. This included base preparation and compaction, sand layer, placement of pavers, and polymer sand placement. Also included were a stone and paver entrance to the pool patio, and a river rock border aound the entire patio.

+ -1 moreI called for an estimate on a Wed. Mike came that night. Turns out he had done a job for u s a couple of years ago puttin in a retaining wall which we love. He gave a fair estimate and as another company never showed to give us their estimate we went the MFS. They started the next day. With a day off due to torrential rain, they completed it the following day. They filled in with topsoil, cleaned up all the debris, and left us with a great path. Great experience.
Description of Work: Mike and his crew tore up a disreputable brick pathway and removed the debris. Then they refaced our crumbling concrete steps with brick, bluestone risers, and a bluestone landing. They created an attractive concrete pathway leading from our driveway to the steps. It looks fantastic.

+ 0 moreVery responsive to phone and follow up. Workers were neat and did a very nice job. With anyone doing work suggest you are home that day. Example the bricks were not exactly match up with old bricks so they worked on staggering so existing bricks into the new ones. Would hire again

THEY ARRIVED EARLY IN THE MORNING ON THE SPECIFIED START DATE AND WORKED TO DARK.THEY DID THIS EVERY DAY TILL THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. EVERY FACET OF THE JOB FROM THE START TO THE FINAL CLEANUP WAS COMPLETED WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING ON MY PART. UPON COMPLETION OUR HOUSE WAS LEFT IN THE SAME CONDITION IT WAS IN AT THE BEGINNING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A BEAUTIFUL NEW STOOP AND WALKWAY.I GIVE MFS MASONRY A FIVE STAR RATING.
Description of Work: WE HAD OUR FRONT STOOP HORIZONTAL SURFACES CAPPED WITH BLUESTONE AND THE SIDES STUCCOED. OUR FRONT CONCRETE WALKWAY WAS RIPPED UP AND REPLACED WITH PAVERS.

+ 1 moreI called the contractor and set up a time for an estimate. He gave me multiple price options and showed photo's of work that he had done. I signed an agreement on the work I wanted and the price. The work began on the date agreed to and completed on the date given.
Description of Work: Removed the old front stoop and old walk. Removed the old bushes. Installed a new front stoop with field stone and 4 foot wide walk. Landscaped with river rock between the walk and foundation. Landscaped with top soil around the new work. Installed Belgian block on right side (opposite side of walk) of house. The work started on a Monday and was completed by Thursday. The work that was done made it through the winter with no issues.

He did a great job and was very clean, he got rid of everything and there was hardly any dust. I think he was very careful, he just used a chisel and a hammer for it. He was good, reasonable, and did it all in one day which was good. His pricing was very good. I don't know exactly what the ranges are but my husband said it was a good price. I definitely want to hire him again. When he said he was going to come, he came. He showed me everything he did and it was just very good. He told me he would be at 8:30 and he was actually here at 8:30. He was very professional, took away all of the old concrete for us. He was very nice, professional, and explained everything for me.
Description of Work: He did concrete work in our bathroom. He fixed the bottom floor of a split level in our bathroom.

+ 1 moreMike was punctual, honest and very hard working, as were his employees. Their work is amazing and their creative input was invaluable. Our home has been updated from it's 1950's look to todays current designs. Exactly what we wanted. He listened and understood what we needed, and shared our pain making difficult decisions about a couple of problem areas. We are very pleased with the work.Our home is now beautiful. We are concerned however, since we live on a busy road and so many people are slowing down to admire their work, we are afraid it may cause an accident.
Description of Work: We had some ancient sidewalks and blacktop removed, cultured stone installed on the front of our home, a new front door landing and sidewalk, and a beautiful border placed around our landscaping in the front of our home.

+ -1 moreWe feel MFS Masonry did a very nice job overall. The stoop looks great and seems to be very well built. The workers started when they said they would start, worked hard and efficiently, and finished when they said they would finish. If we had a quibble it would be with the fill that they used behind the retaining wall. There were a number of large shards of glass in it that we had to carefully remove and dispose of. Overall, we are happy with MFS Masonry and would recommend them.
Description of Work: We had a new stoop capped with blue stone, a concrete pathway, new concrete stairs leading from the driveway to the pathway, and a retaining wall installed.
