Showed up as scheduled and provided a preliminary evaluation. Was thrilled to hear that we might be able to save the tree.

They were good. I have two pine trees in front of my house and one of the branches because of the snow storm was hanging on the roof. They went up and put the lift and were able to take everything away. It worked out fine. Their prices were good and I have no complaints. I have had other tree services and they were far more expensive. I was very satisfied with their work. They cleaned up everything and in fact their chipper was broken. I loaned them the jumper cable but they couldn’t get it started so they cut everything in half and took it away in their truck. It was a cold day when they were doing the work; it was about 20 degrees.

They applied fertilizer solution to one of the trees at my residence. However, this service turned out to be another "come on" as the 100 gallons of the solution was only sufficient for one tree! Furthermore, they sent me a 90-day dunning notice for the tax they indicated was not included in the service price!

They diagnosed a fungus in the tree and other plants, and treated that. They were very fair and professional.

Even with the deal, this service was overpriced. I used my previous service who was very busy and not able to get to me until today.

Bought a new house with two beautiful large Sycamore trees and a large Fir tree out front. All were dangerously overgrown and the Fir was entangled by large vines. They trimmed the Sycamores beautifully and cleaned out the dead vines on the Fir. More impressive was that I could not be home that day and they did exactly what he said they would. Maybe a little pricey, but you get what you pay for !

Steve was quick to respond for a quote and was very polite in person. I will give him that. However the various services he quoted including general lawn care were literally DOUBLE the prices of competitors. The aeration and overseeding seemed reasonable so I agreed to have that done. Steve asked that I mark the sprinkler heads with flags so that any damage may be prevented and that he would call ahead before the job was done to confirm the flags were in place. I never heard from him again. The job was completed and I was never called. When I arrived to check the work, I noticed that not only did the machine leave incredibly deep tire marks destroying multiple areas of my lawn but that the operator drove straight over the flags causing them to be embedded into the lawn. Luckily, only 2 sprinkler heads were damaged. I have left multiple messages for Steve and have never heard from him since. The only correspondence I have received is a bill in the mail. Never again.

I had a pleasant meeting with the representative, but his written estimate was way out of line and so I hired another company for less than half the price of the same service if furnished by save a tree. I cannot find the written bill from the other company, so I am showing a date of service which is estimated.

I questioned why Glen Head office didn't service my area when they are literally ten minutes away by car. Tara explained how my address was being serviced by Westchester county and they didn't have anyone in my area for several days. My availability is for Wednesdays and the last Thursday of month (in my email to them) I became upset because Tara also informed me her office didn't recieve my transaction information or communication between myself and their Glen Head ofc. I could not understand how Westchester county office could know enough to call me to reschedule an appt. yet had no other information about my order transaction. I was not in her system!??? I let Tara know I am very dissatisfied with their lack of organization and service and I'm cancelling my order. I am contacting you Angie for my refund. Please respond ASAP.

We had purchased a big deal service for the service, and they did an excellent service. They called, they came and inspected, and gave us a price. The price was very reasonable, he did the job in a reasonable time, and cleaned up. He was very professional. We paid more than the big deal.

As soon as I purchased the coupon I quickly received a call to schedule the appt. - I was pleased. The appt. was scheduled for Monday (with the call being made the previous Thursday) - quite good. Upon the representative's arrival - after we looked at the tree I wanted serviced, he asked me what else I would like assistance with - that's when I told him, well, I wanted to see what would be left of the $300 worth of work I had purchased with the Big Deal. He then asked me again, what other work would I like done - which made me assume, incorrectly, that there would be a balance left over after the tree that needed pruning was done. So I showed him a couple of small tasks involving trimming another couple of overhanging branches. He then asked - what else I would like done. That's when I insisted upon getting the complete estimate first. He quoted $450.00. So I said I wasn't prepared to spend that - let's first deal with the job I called you out for - the trimming of the tree in front of my house - and then if all goes well - I'll consider other work after that. That's when he told me - that their minimum charge was $450.00. I said, why then is there a coupon for $300 worth of work - and he explained that it was money towards whatever work was to be done. And that I should feel comfortable calling the office if I thought that was inaccurate - as it wasn't a scam. (All the language is mine - I don't want to put words in the reps mouth). Well I then said what would the cost of just the tree be - and he said - $450. I was confused and said, then what would the $300 purchase - and he said - getting part of the tree serviced. I then figured, well, maybe I misunderstood the big Deal and since I needed the work done, I'd go along with it - since the company had good ratings from Angie's members. After thinking thru what had transpired later in the day - I was very uncomfortable with what had happened. I then decided to call Angie's List customer service #. I explained what transpired - the customer service person read over the listing herself and agreed that shouldn't be the case - and began the process of issuing a refund to mel Afterwards I called Saveatree - and told them I was cancelling and why. THe person on the other end of the phone was very courteous - and said I wasn't the first person to call about that - and that they'd fix the add in the future to clarify - as the ad does state that Average tree work can run from $800 - $1000. I told her in my opinion that wasn't clear - and she said they'd fix it - and cancelled my order w/o hesitation. I felt that although they were polite every step of the way - that it was rather deceptive advertising - especially since they had already had complaints about it. As a result, I will not be using their services.

Arrived on time and went to work right away. cleared all the branches from the area and took all the cut limbs to a shredder .cleaned my driveway of all branches and my back yard. would use them again.

Went very well, men took their time trimming all Evergreens and trees. They did the job the right way using Bucket Truck and Ladders. Andrew came by the next day to make sure I was satisfied. Great clean up job.

Job was very well done. After doing the cutting all debris was cleaned up and removed from my yard. Workers were very professional, polite and thorough. I was very satisfied with the workmanship. My only complaint was that I had to wait until my area was scheduled for other jobs. I was a bit impatient but this would not deter me from using this company again. Rose Mary Fasciano

Estimate phase went fine - representative came out within a day or two. Said they really don't do any work that doesn't at least hit $450 (I had a $300 credit from the Angie's List special deal). Estimate was $515 (with tax). Steve said they would come on Friday of that week. I didn't hear anything about a confirmation so I called on Thursday only to be told that they were not coming on Friday and that it would be "sometime next week". Finally got a call on August 20th that they would be there the next day "sometime in the afternoon", but they would give me a call the next day when they had a more specific time. No call came - and I had to run out around 12 noon. When I got home Sav-A Tree was here - one gentleman cleaning out the bushes, and another cutting down the branches from the roof of my house. They did a good job - very quickly - and were gone. Got an e-mail bill later in the day which did not reflect the $300 Angie's List credit. Sent a $215 Check with backup showing the Credit along with a note. Got a remidner e-mail on 9/10 showing they had received my check but that I still owed $300. Called the office - young lady reviewed my account and agreed I didn't owe any more money. She didn't offer any apologies for the error or annoyance on my part. All in all - customer service was lacking, I didn't get the feeling that the work justified the cost and I certainly feel that they thought that they wouldn't be seeing any more work from me so their interest level was low. Out of pocket was $355 - a lot of money for me...could not have gotten the work done if I didn't have the Angie's List Deal.

The men were very courteous, knowledgeable, and pruned the trees very nicely. They also cleaned up and left the premises in excellent shape.

They promised to be here sometime this week, and showed up with all their equipment nice and early on Tuesday. Our oak is 50 feet tall and now has great air circulation and the shortened limbs are better protection against future wind damage. The team removed all the debris and chipped it up, and raked the lawn. Punctual, knowledgeable about trees and neat, what more can you ask. No damage to the lawn or hedge under the tree. Very professional. I would use them again.

They called to set up meeting to discuss what to do. Reviewed the trees and what needed to be cut. set up date for work, showed up on time day of service and pruned the five trees. Pricey for the work, charged for removal of branches but otherwise a professional job. extra credit for handling of crabby neighbor who intefered with work.

Got an immediate appointment for estimate. When they didn't remove some branches on an adjacent property as agreed, they came right back, finished the job, and I got a follow up phone call to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction. Will definitely use them again.

They did a good job. Our lawn is much better than last year. Their price is not competitive though.

I would strongly advise that if you are looking for a knowledgeable, intelligent, experienced, articulate and informative professional for assistance with your trees, that you stop looking and call this company. These professionals not only meet, but surpass all of the measurements that Angie's List uses to evaluate companies. Mark Van Nortwick did the original assessment, and Sean came out to perform the soil enhancement. Both extraordinary in their knowledge, professionalism and expertise. I am located in Manhattan, but their knowledge includes suburban as well as urban environments.
