Paint of WNY

After meeting at the Buffalo Home Show Mike came to the house to quote on painting my aluminum siding. I said the job would entail painting the white siding and I would paint the green wood trim around windows, doors, soffits and some fascia. As we walked around the yard I asked if his company would remove the gutter downspouts before painting and re-hang them afterwards as I wanted them to stay white. He said they would. I also said I wanted him to paint two sections of fascia that are at the second storey roof line as I did not have ladders tall enough to reach those places. I said I would provide the same brand and quality paint as would be used on the rest of the house. After the walk around we stood in the kitchen and he said it would cost $ 2,880 plus $ 800 if I wanted to use Sherwin Williams Emerald paint, which would be an upgrade. When he emailed the contract, the price was $ 2,880, but it did not include removing and re-hanging the downspouts or painting the fascia at the roof line. When I finished getting quotes and decided I wanted Paint of WNY to do the job I emailed Mike and asked him to update the contract to specify the downspouts, the roof fascia peaks and the higher grade of paint. I wanted the contract to specify the complete scope of work; other quotes I received did specifically call out these tasks. Mike said he would have to look at the job again and when he emailed the contract the price went up by $ 600, not including the up-charge for the better quality paint! It also referenced painting soffits, not fascia. I replied to Mike’s email to point out I wanted him to paint fascia, not soffits, as they are different parts of the house - I wanted to be sure we were talking about the same task. I also sent a copy of my notes written when he came to look at the job where I had noted that he agreed to remove and re-hang the downspouts. It seemed to me that since we talked about the downspouts and fascia when he came to the house and in the same conversation said the job would cost $ 2,880 (plus $ 800 for Emerald paint) that they were included in that price. Mike emailed back telling me to find another painter. I replied that I would take his earlier quote of $ 2,880 (plus Emerald paint) and I would take care of the downspouts and fascia myself. Mike said to find another painter. When I tried to contact the Paint of WNY office Erin said find another painter. Based on the price I was quoted and the tasks I described when Mike was here I expected the job to cost $ 2,880 plus the up-charge for Emerald paint. When I questioned being charged $600 more for tasks we had already talked about I got dumped and they were unwilling to talk and see if things could be worked out. I think I was not treated fairly by Paint of WNY.

The folks at Paint of WNY were great. It takes skill and patience to do a great job and these guys have both. They were quiet, competent, and professional.... a pleasure to have around. They were not the cheapest estimate, but the quality of the work is superior and I am delighted that I chose them for the job.

I have a cedar wood façade home in Williamsville that has 3 floors (Including attic) and it was in desperate need of re-staining. This would be the 3rd time I’ve stained this home over 20 years. In the past I had used a group of guys that destroyed my foliage during the power wash process and subsequently used CertaPro who did a good job. This time I took bids from 3 groups, including CertaPro and Paint of WNY. Paint of WNY was a slightly lower bid and the owner promised to try to repair old bee holes as well as paint. I also had newer wood placed because of a wood picker (I hate these birds). Mike (Owner) came out at the end of 2016 and gave me the estimate and Erin (in the office) kept me up to date with schedule issues. The one minor issue I did have was the start date was pushed back several times due to weather and scheduling problems with other projects. Since I was in no hurry, this did not bother me, but it did make me a bit worried that I might have signed on to another group that was going to leave a mess. Then Erin sent an email requesting to start the next morning and asked that I clear the home of all things that would get in the painter’s way. Unfortunately, I was not going to be home until the following afternoon and I would not be able to clear the home of the many knickknacks’ my wife places around our home. That morning Robert and Goran showed up to starting power washing. My wife was there to meet them and together they prepared the house for power washing. Both of these guys were very friendly and professional. They worker out the color scheme with my wife and always cleaned up after themselves. It took several days to complete the work, but I have to say that we are very pleased with the results. Our house look brand new and the surroundings look as if they were never there. I did the final walk through with Robert and Goran and pointed out a few areas were they missed bee holes and before the night was over, they had fixed them. Considering the final product, I can say I highly recommend Paint of WNY. Pros: The painters were professional and very responsive to our requests. They are clearly proud of the work they do. The final product is excellent! Cons. They may be taking on too many projects or may not have enough good painters to avoid scheduling conflicts or delays. For me this was not an issue

Sean and his crew did a careful, neat job. They cleaned up each day before leaving. They were eager to please. We were comfortable having them around the house. After they were all done, Sean came for a final "walk-around" and he took care of a small matter we had overlooked.

They first used the wrong paint, there was paint all over the outlets, furniture, and other places it didnt belong. It was a total disaster.

From the start, professional and attentive. The crew of 3 seemed to enjoy each others company and were very polite and respectful.

Provided excellent price and workmanship. House is a difficult access do to proximity to neighbor and height. This required extensive effort and time with scaffolding and securing painters. Service was done at a very fair price, completed timely (one must consider the constraints of weather), in a trustworthy manner (never had to concern myself that they were there when I was not), neatly completely with all work areas completed cleaned up and NO damaged or inconvenience to my neighbor (I cannot say that about contractors who have worked on my neighbors house that have left filth, damaged frame, brick and downspouts and hit my house more than once with their equipment, left my home filthy) . Work was high quality - and guaranteed. Some warranty work was necessary-a fact of life with old homes(mine is over 100years old) and it was completed without hassle. They even arranged to pickup matching replacement paint and recommended a different brand to better suit my home needs. The gentlemen who worked on my home were polite, friendly and considerate. Absolutely no damage to plants or yard either time they worked at my house. I would highly recommend Mike and his company to anyone.

This company was recommended to us by a neighbor. The young owner was professional and courteous. The workers were good, cheerful people, and for the most part very careful. Toward the end of the day, when they were pressed to finish, a bit of carelessness crept in.
