Overall, Mark (owner of Nail & Pails) was extremely professional and personable, and our counter top looks beautiful. Mark returned our phone call in a timely manner and was very prompt in responding to our inquiry, scheduling a visit within the week. He came to see us for a consultation to determine if the job was within the scope of his ability, which it was, and we discussed the specific details of our situation (extending counter top, not having a beveled edge, L corner, floating installation). We purchased our counter top from another retail store and Mark worked around the arrival schedule as we waited for it to come in. He also quoted us a specific price and a specific amount of time to complete the job. As far as the actual work goes, Mark was extremely detailed oriented and he took special precaution when combining the two counter tops at the corner. Rather than just gluing at the corner, he created a system to combine them underneath to create a tight joint, and used glue as a secondary support. This is just one example of how he went above and beyond expectations to provide us with a better service. Though Mark worked diligently, it took him a few extra hours to complete the job. He honored his original price despite working extra hours and was very thorough with the clean up afterward; he even volunteered to take away some of the extra old counter top! We did have some unforeseen house issues arise throughout the installation, and Mark had solutions to each one, but he also informed us of approximate prices while he was fixing the problems so we were not taken by surprise when our total was slightly higher than the quoted price. Throughout the process, Mark offered solutions to other kitchen remodeling questions (cabinet wall space, tile backsplash, etc.) and he volunteered to help us with other projects if we needed help. At the end of this process, we have a beautifully installed counter top that has held up well over time. Additionally, Mark was easy to talk to and very pleasant. I would absolutely recommend Nails & Pails for other handyman projects to both family and friends, and I will likely be using his services again in the future!

Windows fixed and flooring repair were done as promised.

Mark was on time and professional. No problems. Mark said to call him back if there was the slightest dissatisfaction (I had no need to, every thing was perfect). I already plan on hiring him again for another project.

Mark is accustomed to working alone and I respected that.? Mark was self reliant bringing his own food/water so that he never had to leave the worksite to get something to eat or drink.? Great service, on time and on budget.

Horrible! Our first contact went good. We had an answered call and an appointment within a week. When Mark arrived things were great. Professional, nice, but he was a bit taken aback by the fact we had a clawfoot tub and it was not built into the wall and flooring. He had an idea as to what he wanted to do but wanted to do further research in order to make sure everything gets put back together without mistake and so he could get the correct replacement parts. A very reasonable assumption. The issue is the faucet part of our shower is leaking out of the bottom when the shower is in use. He told us he would be in contact with us. 3 weeks went by and we finally called him. He apologized up and down but sadly instead of owning up to his mistakes he threw up excuses about how he is on other projects and has been crunched for time. He again told us that he was going to go get the parts he needed the following day and would be in contact with us. A week and a half later and still no contact back. Three times we were told that he would contact us back and did not ever do so. Now we have given up and are going to find a plumber who, hopefully, will remember us and help fix our problem.

the provider works alone. he is very cautious about safety around the work site. He works with the owner and /or rep for the owner. he tells how to do it, with what materials, and then does it. If this is a disagreement, he will rectify his plan to accommodate the owners wishes, or inform the owner why it can,t be done this way. The provider used all screws and lags to secure supports to the roof as well as the bottom/or anchor plates. In a project like this, it's key to have a solid structure supporting the roof , so that future repairs can be made without fear of destabilization. This provider did just that. I spot checked his work as he went on working on the project. looked very good. This provider will inform you if something is not right before he remedies the situation . Communication is essential in any construction project between the owner/rep and the provider. This provider will ask you before he executes an action/and or remedies the problem. so the Caveat is good repoure between the provider and the owner, or his representative. Without it you will have unsuspected problems, and disappointments.

I was thrilled and relieved. He called me with his approximate time of arrival and was prompt,professional and efficient completing the work. I will most definitely use him in the future.

MArk was very responsive - returned call promptly, did work promptly and according to estimate. Cleaned up after work was done. Very pleased.

It went very well. He gave me notice of when he would start the job, and showed up on time. As the work progressed I was kept informed of the progress and if he had to leave I was told about the time of departure and when he would return. He is very careful about keeping the work area clean and neat. Nothing was left loose and all cans sealed. When the job was completed, the area was thoroughly cleaned up and all trash removed. I could not recommend this contractor more highly and I plan on using him again.

All areas protected. Work done in a neat, efficient manner. Very knowledgeable about work. Beautiful job, polite, courteous work.

Mark Barrett was very accessible and wonderful to work with. He was prompt and came in under budget because he was able to complete his work more quickly than he estimated. We had several odd jobs for him to do, and I was desperate to find someone for whom no job was too small. I can say from watching him that every one of these jobs was more complicated than it seemed, and I was very much impressed with his careful, no frills workmanship.. Mark Barrett is also very personable. I would ask him to do any bigger jobs without hesitation. He is as real find.

Mark was on time, inspected the area and gave me an estimate and was billed for that amount. Work was done quickly, thoroughly and very clean. Timely and affordable with quality work.

They did everything that's need to be done, they took care of everything and I was very pleased with their work.

He was very prompt and told me exactly what I would expect to pay for the repairs on the sink as my husband had just lost his job and we were on a fixed budget. He came the next day to do the work. After the work was completed he tallied the parts and the work and it came to exactly what we had anticipated. Nearing the end of the work I had mentioned the stove as an after thought not thinking that this would be in his area. He ended up staying for another 45 minutes conferring with some other appliance shops to try to determine what the issue was. When I asked for the total, he stated that it would be the same as the original quote. I wanted to be sure since he had given his time, I wasn't looking for a freebee. I wrote the check and scheduled a time for him to return for the stove. Again, he was very clear as to the time and parts for the estimate so I knew what to expect. When he returned, he did the work and when giving the total it was more than discussed even though there was no change from the estimate in time or parts. When I asked about the change in the amount he told me that he decided to add the extra time from the last visit. I was incredibly thankful for the reprieve on the first visit so I was a little taken aback that he would change his mind and surprise me with the extra amount on the second visit. This was over a year ago and I have logged back on to Angie's list to find another handyman because this still really bothers me. He is a good Christian man who is tidy and prompt and honest about what he can and can't do, but I find that I don't wish to hire him again. I can't imagine that everyone would have this kind of experience so this is why I gave the high score. He is still better than most I imagine.
