fDish has been giving me misinformation for over two years when I first signed up with them. I was told it would be a free installation. but was charged about $70/$80 Dollars by the Installer. When I told him It was supposed to be a free install, I was told "you have to talk to Dish". So when I called Dish expecting a credit, I was told "you have to take that up with the installer" I suppose you can guess how that went.. I was considering going back to Direct TV but Dish came up with the "Great Hopper" so I had it installed. actually twice since the first guy left out some important equipment. Dish had given their word that there would be no fees or increases at all because the great Hopper was not going to cost any more than the original system (another lie) anyway, Hopper didn't work from the start so today I was going online to troubleshoot the system, as the Tech's at Dish really don't have a clue. Instead I got into an online chat with a Dish Rep. and after telling him I would really like to go back to my old system he said I could. after a $15 fee. I balked and he said he would waive the fee. I drilled him to make sure I got exactly what I had before without losing programming or equipment. He assured me and said it was going to be cheaper than Hopper (so much for same cost ). there are numerous Fairy Tales I was told but too many to write here. The one that really tightened me up was when he said it was going to be another two year contract !!! for the upgrade. leaving a inoperable system to go back to an older system was an UPGRADE ???? Dish Stinks to high Heaven, Hopper isn't ready to go to market and the people don't really have a clue.

The first tech came out and did almost nothing (replaced the ends of two cables) and stated we were all set. Later that night we were having worse issues than before. We called in again and a second tech came out. This second tech was wonderful. He stated there were more issues than just a couple of cable ends and ended up replacing our dish, doing some rewiring and did a lot more through checking to insure the issue was resolved. This second tech did a great job.

I have had Dish Network for about a month now. I have had one brief (1 minute) outage in that time. There was a slight learning curve using the remote to find the station I want. My wife was able to set up multiple program searches for the various members of the family. We got the 60 channel package and it works very well for a family w/ children. Cheaper than cable even after having to pay $5/mo. for local channels.
