Garrison Stone Works

Matt and his crew showed up and worked steadily from the time they arrived until quitting time, with very few breaks. Matt and his crew did an excellent job repairing our rock wall. We are very happy with their work. We highly recommend Matt and his crew at Garrison Stone Works. His price was better than any of the other estimates we had received. We receive many complements on the rock wall and would hire them again!

GSW's price was comparable with others; I hired him because he was BBB affiliated and in the business for many years. He (Mastrantome/proprietor) demanded 50% upfront, remainder at completion of job. Contract was signed, payment made; promised to be a 4 day job. He didn't start the project until 2 months later (after several emails, phone calls, and broken promises). Progress was intermittent, if at all. His workers damaged an existing sidewalk and crushed a (downspout) pipe which they tried to hide. Only on my insistence was the pipe repaired. Subsequent clog in pipe resulted in flood in my home when Hurricane Irene passed through. Quality of work very poor. Sidewalk so rough my dog cut her paws on it. Garden (stone) wall contained many loose stones. He would only point up rear of wall if I paid extra (originally expected to be included). A third part of the job wasn't even started, as contracted. When he initiated an argument with my wife, I fired him. He expected near full payment (95%). Also note, GSW hires undocumented workers who do not speak English. Mr Mastrantome treats them poorly as well. I found Mr. Mastrantome's work ethic very unprofessional.
