I am a very hard person to work for. I constantly emailed them with little questions and follow-ups all along the way. Throughout the entire process, they were responsive and professional. They came out to the house twice to measure, gave us a very reasonable proposal, and did quality work. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking to have a new hardwood floor installed!

From the owner to the installers, this is a first-rate veteran owned, family run business. Doug Sr. provided us expert assistance in picking out the best carpet for our needs. The installation was scheduled quickly and the installers arrived on time every day. Jeff and Dan were totally courteous, friendly, and professional. Not only did they install the carpet, but they went above and beyond to fix several related problems. The installers were extremely careful in handling our furniture and cleaned up everything. We have some very heavy furniture and they never complained one bit. We are totally satisfied with the entire project, and will have them back to replace another room of carpet. Would give them an A+ if possible.

It went extremely well. The timely and professional job of installing vinyl planking in my basement. We are very pleased with the results. The team of two removed the old carpet and disposed of it. They moved the furniture in order to install the flooring. They did exactly what the said they would do. This is a family owned and operated business. I would not hesitate to recommend their service to anyone.

Description of Work: We bought wood flooring and installed it ourselves. Salesperson was friendly and helpful. Quoted a delivery time of 1-3 weeks but our order actually arrived within 24 hours. We were quite happy about that as we were on a deadline.
Description of Work: On first floor we had tile and some carpeting. Tile was mismatched and carpet stained. We went to Wilton flooring based on grade and reviews on Angie's list. It took them four days first 2 were to prep - removing old carpet and putting in plywood to make even with original tile - then put patching and leveling to make floor all level. On third day start laying the vinyl tile ( we chose a reddish/brown wood looking tile cannot tell it is not wood). On fourth day they finished the tile and put on trim. It is like a brand new house, they were so easy to work with and very communicative. I want to thank Angie's list and Wilton flooring for the great floors. Bob Durie

Doug Jr. came to my house to evaluate the situation and determine what needed to be done. An estimate was prepared based on having to pull up the carpet in two bedrooms to screw the floor down to alleviate banging and squeaking noises. After placing screws in most of one room, they concluded that the sill of the wall separating the bedrooms was not nailed down and was causing the floor to bang on the bottom of the sill. Screws were placed and shims were inserted from both sides of the wall. They stayed the course until the problem was determined and resolved. These guys were easy to talk to and treated me with respect. They said they wouldn't leave until the issue was diagnosed and resolved. I would call them again in a minute. Addendum: Doug Sr. called me, following this review, to see if I wanted them to fix the floor in the master bedroom. It wasn't nearly as bad as the other rooms, but I agreed to have him come back. He told me he would be in touch when he had a free day. A few weeks later, he called, and I agreed to have him return. I had a great degree of trujst and confidence in this company. I took all breakables down from the furniture I thought they had to move, and put them in my walk in closet. When Doug arrived, he went right for the closet, so I had to move everything out of there. He started moving things for me, which I really didn't appreciate. I stayed in the room while he worked and talked to him to break the silence. He took his time and stopped many times to take a break. He went in and out of the house several times--some times for a break and some times to get additional tools-- and, each time brought in more dirt on his boots (it had rained the night before). I didn't want to say anything, as I thought he was going above and beyond to repair my floor. The screwdriver he was using didn't have the right connector, and this caused the bit to keep coming out as he was working. At one point, he decided that in order to pull the carpet back far enough to add a few more screws, the threshold seam was opened up between the bedroom and hallway. I was extremely nervous, but left the work in the hands of the professional. At this point, Doug went to his truck to get the iron to reseal the seam only to find out he didn't have it with him. He told me he was going to the shop (about 4 exits away) and would be back in 20 minutes. Meanwhile, everything was left undone, including the cover for the air intake. My cat went inside, and I started to panic. He eventually came out on his own, but it could have turned into a very difficult situation. Doug returned about an hour or so later. He thne joined the seam, but there were bare spots, so he took some fibers and used my glue gun to fix it. There is now a hard spot where the glue hardened. Also, Doug removed the brass plate where the bathroom floor meets the carpet, and when he put it back on, he reversed it. Now it doesn't match the other one from the hallway to the bathroom. A section of molding was damaged by the edge of the reciprocating saw used to cut the shims, and the cover to the intake is now scratched from using the drill that kept slipping. This experience was nothing like I expected based on my first experience with this company. Edit: There are several areas where the pad makes popping noises. Since my original review, Doug Sr. has called and left messages for me several times, unrelated to the work or business. Based upon this, I would not feel comfortable having him in my home again. After the work was done, I sent a thank you card to thank them for taking time out to help me. I also indicated in this thank you that I was "not thrilled" about how the seam came out. I said I was not interested in the offer of new carpet until I needed it. (Doug Sr. asked if I wanted new carpet when he saw my dissatisfaction with the seam). Since that time, I discovered the popping noises in the pad and that the glue in the seam had hardened, so I feel that new carpet is warranted. Follow up: The company is refusing to refund me the $285 I initially spent. I was told their work was guaranteed. Their response to me was that I should have known that the carpet seam, once opened would not be right again. I don't know how an average consumer would know this. I put my trust in them, and lost.
Description of Work: Doug Sr. and Dan came over to silence the floors in two bedrooms. Addendum: Doug Sr. called after this job and offered to repair the floor in the master bedroom. This was following my review, and I thought the offer was due to my review.

Response from WILTON FLOORS
To whom is may concern: I’m writing to explain Wilton Floors side of the story to the dispute left by [Member’s name removed]. This issue really upsets me. This is a simple case of [Member’s name removed] trying to get something for nothing. First things first this was a second repair that we completed for [Member’s name removed]. After leaving us a glowing review and nominating us for an award on Angie’s list for fixing the squeaky floors in two of her bedrooms we were very happy to work with [Member’s name removed] again. We were aware that [Member’s name removed] was going through a rough patch, and was struggling because of her recent unemployment, so we offered to do the second repair AT NO CHARGE. Typically a repair such as this would cost a minimum of $150.00. To leave a bad review for something we did out of pure kindness and at no charge disappoints me. Her request for over $4000.00 in new carpet to resolve this dispute is outrageous. The job from the beginning was a simple repair of squeaking floors. There was never any product sold to the customer and no installation of any new floor covering. Before I addressed [Member’s name removed]’s allegations I would like to note that we had no idea there was any issues or complaints on behalf of [Member’s name removed]. In fact, I received a contradictory thank you card from her in the mail the very same day she left this negative review. In the thank you card, which I have attached, she had nothing but praise. Quote, “It is rare to encounter a business person who actually takes the time to care about their customers. Please know you have made a positive difference in my life at such a difficult time.” First, in the dispute, [ Member’s name removed] stated she put all of her furniture into a closet and when the installer informed her that he needed to start the work in the closet, he began to help her move her belongings. In the dispute, [Member’s name removed] stated that she “did not appreciate” the fact that he helped her move her belongings. The installer was only making a kind gesture by helping her move her things. She did not tell the installer that she did not want him to help. Second, [Member’s name removed] complained that the installer took too many breaks and came in and out of the house to get tools. Again she was not being charged so the breaks should not have been an issue. In addition, in the flooring industry it is common for an installer to grab tools from the van as needed. Thirdly, in order to screw in her floor to stop the squeaks, [Member’s name removed] was informed that the carpet would have to be cut at the seam in the doorway (which installer did not know until after he evaluated the situation). The installer informed [Member’s name removed] that the carpet was delaminated (carpet fibers coming out) because the carpet was very old, unserviceable and in need of replacement, so the new seam would not be perfect because of this. In order to fully and adequately repair the squeaks, it is true that the installer had to leave to go back to the store to get his seaming iron. He did not bring it because he did not know he would need it. It should be noted that her home is 20 minutes away from the store, so the installer had to go out of his way to do this. Hence, [Member’s name removed] was aware it would be approximately 45 minutes before the installer would return. After the installer left to get the tool, [Member’s name removed]’s cat snuck in to an open heating vent which had to be removed for the repair. This heating vent would have been put back on at the completion of the repair. Due to [Member’s name removed]’s neglect, her cat was allowed in to the room where the work was taking place, and the cat entered the open vent. [Member’s name removed] was able to get the cat to come out of the vent prior to the installers return. If the installer was there, it is clear that he would not have allowed the cat to roam and enter the open vent. Although we are truly apologetic that this happened the blame cannot be placed completely on the installer. It is not our responsibility to watch customer’s animals, especially when we are not present at the home. Lastly, when the installer re-seamed her carpet in the doorway the carpet fibers were falling out of the carpet backing due to the age and serviceability. The installer went out of his way to make her happy by taking carpet fibers and trying to fix where her existing carpet was falling apart due to its age. [Member’s name removed] also claimed that the installer was using the wrong drill bit and it caused him to scratch her vent cover, this is not the case. [Member’s name removed] picked up the installers drill and started to use it to screw in the vent cover on her own (after the cat came out of the vent), and not having the knowledge for the use of the drill she scratched her own vent cover. Also the metal transition strip she claimed to be on the wrong way was put back on exactly how it was taken off. They are actually made to go in either direction to accommodate whatever type of flooring that it is being used to transition to. I believe [Member’s name removed] is trying to use the Angie’s List system to get something for nothing. Due to the condition of her carpet [Member’s name removed] was made aware that she needed new carpet and was offered carpet at a discount when she decided to have it replaced. In regards to [Member’s name removed]’s desired resolution, I find it absolutely absurd. She is requesting $4,750 for new carpet to replace carpet in three bedrooms, her stairs and hallway. The dispute in question is in regards to a repair completed in ONE of the bedrooms. I will not give her any money to replace her carpets that we did not damage, and that were already in need of replacement. We left the carpet in the exact same condition they were in prior to the repair. The seam in the doorway was not perfect, but the installer explained to [Member’s name removed] that due to the age and condition of her carpet it would not be. The best I can offer [Member’s name removed] is my sincerest apologies and a 10 percent discount on new carpet for her home. Sincerely, Douglas Gipe Jr. Owner, Wilton Floors

Fantastic. The best job I have seen in some time. We wanted a new bathroom after owning the house for many years. We are still awe struck by the quality and price. Thanks guys!

Rose was very knowledgeable when it came to different types of flooring. She was upfront and accommodating with the scheduling. She was in constant contact to move my project along. Doug and Cory installed the flooring. They were on time, worked clean. They measured twice and cut once. They were detailed. I liked that Doug went back to the shop to get a couple of transition pieces for the second door. We decided together which would work best. Great experience!
