This was the second project that I have Patriot take care of for me in the past 3 years, the first being a bathroom remodel. Both times I have been very happy with the results and plan on using them for future projects. My kitchen remodel that was recently finished involved a total renovation. The demo was done in one day and I was very happy with the care they took not to damage my wood floors and walls. the installation went as smoothly as you can expect when you do this type of project. The tile work ( floors and backsplash ) was done very well and the carpentry ( crown moldings and trim ) was excellent. When everything was done with the kitchen I had them do some painting and install 2 storm doors. Again the work was done to my satisfaction. Most of the work was done by one worker and yes it does take a little longer to complete the work. However I would rather have one person who knows what they're doing than multiple workers who may be more concerned with getting to the next job. As anybody who has had a project like this done unforeseen problems always pop up. On both my projects options were given to me and solutions provided in order to solve these problems. I will definitely use these folks on future projects.

It's the kind of remodeling work that divorces result from. It was just a **** good thing my wife didn't know where the keys to my gun safe were. In the final stages of a winter home occupation for there otherwise unemployed crew (hammer mechanics and poor ones at that) We had a $21,000 flood resulting in a re-do of the finished kitchen. The tile job in one of the bathrooms was so bad I took a sledgehammer to it and made them do it over again. The topper however was the morons sitting around playing games on their cell phones while I was paying for it. Don't hire this clown outfit..

Long story short we hired a contractor to do work and what we got was a handyman for 2 months. We constantly had to revisit the contract, many hidden details that ended up costing us money, and at the end of the day the work much of the work type of that we agreed on at the beginning of the job was not complete. For example: we discussed installing a shower. During the walk-through we were given an enthusiastic 'no problem.' When the work began, the walls needed to be squared, but Patriot refused to do that work until we walked through the contract. We had to revisit the contract many times as work stopped because a specific task hadn't been included, although Patriot took several weeks to generatw the contract. Several subcontractors took us aside to warn that this type of ambiguity and lack of project management was typical of their experience of this firm. We got taken for a ride.

Agreement was that while we would share some of the work, Patriot would consult with us on our planning, project plan, manage, and complete work. Absolutely no PM pr planning work from their side, no planning, missed requirements, missed orders; once contract was signed Patriot very quickly turned completely passive. Essentially we paid a huge amount of money for the contractor to keep a man on salary over the winter, and didn't get the engagement we agreed on at project start.

Anything that could go wrong did. This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had.The First person working on the bathroom installed the shower tub surround , sanded the drywall , began painting the bathroom, but never cleaned up the drywall dust. When we returned home from work he was gone and the paint was bubbling off the walls, there was at least one inch of dust all over the bathroom. The old baseboard was ripped off in some areas and not replaced, what remained was painted using the wrong paint. Jack the owner was called , he came out to the house and could not understand how this could happen. He removed the workers stored tools from the front porch and fired him that night. The following morning we had another person on the job.Jack assured us that the work would be done correctly. The second worker drilled Two 3" holes into the back for the 3000.00 dollar vanity(Not included in the remodel price) in the wrong area.He installed two different sized baseboard trim in the bathroom there was about an inch difference were to to met.Jack was called again , adjustments were made and 8 weeks later they were done and so were we!.We were unhappy with the final product, poor craftsmanship all around. All thought the second worker tried to fix the poor drywall taping you can still see many of the seems.,Most of the nail holes in the baseboard are visible. We just wanted this to be over, unfortunately about 5 weeks later after we had finished taking showers that morning, we returned later that day to find the down stairs bath flooded, the ceiling was falling down and there was about 2 " of water on the floor.Jack was called and he told us not to use the shower he would try to get there tomorrow. To make a long story short after a plummer and jack inspected the drain to the new tub , apparently first worker never used any glue on the pvc pipes.causing the pluming to pull apart and flooding the down stairs bathroom. Jack had a third worker fix the down stairs bathroom at no cost.
Description of Work: Jack the owner was very nice and professional during the in home estimate. He came prepared and answered all are questions regarding the remodel of our 1820's Colonial home .They reoriented the upstairs bathroom and removed the corner shower stall and replaced it with a vanity we purchased online from Californian to match the time period of the home.. They installed a shower tub surround and removed the old sink. Minor electrical work as well. The baseboard was replaced and the bathroom painted. We were told this remodel would take 4 weeks

We had an engineer draw up plans for the renovation. Jack Seydler, owner (with Michelle) started the process with a site survey. He reviewed the plans with me and answered any questions I had made sure he understood what we expected from him. He provided a written estimate within 10 days or so. We agreed on a start date of the beginning of August. The primary workers were Mark and Ward and they were totally professional the entire time. I'm a bit of a wannabe do-it-yourselfer and I probably made a nuisance of myself trying to pick up tips and making sure that I understood what they were doing every step of the way. Mark and Ward were extremely patient with me and even let me pretend that I helped a little bit. They made sure that the debris from the demolition was cleaned up at the end of each day, taking care to cover the floors with luaun to prevent damage. We used the space each night for normal living and MArk and Ward made sure there was a good cleanup each day when they quit. The house is over 100 years old, so nothing was level or square and there was a surprise brick half-chimney they had to remove. Nothing fazed them and they took surprises/challenges as they came. The work took about five weeks - which was about what I had hoped for, but was less than I expected. There was a huge amount of drywall work and 18 months later there are a few screw pops and minor cracks in the drywall where the beams meet the wall. Given the age of the house and the extent of the work done, these are minor issues that can't be blamed on the contractor. Houses settle - even 100 year old ones. The work was done for the contracted amount, plus a little extra for additional electrical work that came up, but wasn't in the plans. Overall, we are very happy with the work and will hire Patriot Construction again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Remove a bearing wall to open up the living room to a larger space. Install Microlam beams to support 2nd story floor. Install footing and support posts for Microlam beam. Fur out walls to 6 inches to accommodate appropriate insulation. Remove and replace 5 windows. Rewire or install 13 electrical outlets. Wire 3 ceiling fans. Install drywall and make paint-ready all affected interior walls. Install new interior door. Remove/replace affected exterior vinyl siding. This was a major renovation - at least from my point of view.
