Steve's Appliance Repair

Steve was great. He was able to come the same day and correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Would definitely recommend Steve and would use him again.

The dryer (which is 30+ years old) started to make a racket and it also seemed to be spinning way too fast. I called Steve before 8 in the morning, told him about the noise and the spinning and he got back to me later in the day, telling me when he would be able to come over. He was as good as his word. From the sound, he could tell that the roller was "shot" and when he took out the drum, he saw that the belt had very little life left in it. He left it to me whether to replace the belt or not, and I decided to do so. Steve gave me a 12 month guarantee on the job and worked with concentration and was very neat. I am very pleased with the dryer, which now operates as soundlessly as a dryer can operate, which is to say I am very pleased with the repairs that Steve performed.

Steve arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem. He just charged the $50 service fee and fixed our machine. Steve also gave us tips about warranties and buying appliances for the future. He knows what he is doing and does not try to make expensive repairs. We will use him again.

Steve has tons of experience and sure knows his stuff. I would trust him with any appliance that I have in the house. He came the next day and help us to take care of the super annoying problem quick and easy.

Steve was great. He diagnosed the problem even before he opened up the dryer. It was the pulley system. He went back to his van and luckily had the part need to repair my dryer. His quote was stated prior to the repair, which pleased me very much. There was no second guessing. Dryer works perfectly now, all nice and quiet. Steve called me this morning to ask if the dryer was in perfect working order. I have used many other service contractors for repairs, but Steve was the only one to call back the next day to find out if everything was ok. I will definately use him again and tell my friends about his excellent service.

He was honest right at the beginning before any work was done, explained that what the costs, benefits and risks were. I took the risk of chancing the compressor was not the issue, but part of the problem at the end. He refunded me the part, but not the service. I accepted that expectation. He was professional, timely and honest. He even had me call him after the initial install (2-3 hours) to make sure it was cooling. (at that time it was).... I would call him again and recommend you to consider him. This all happened on a weekend and as always, thats when we all hope for good service, and I was pleased by his efforts and attention given.

First we called Sears which would not send a repairman for 4 days. Next we asked a neighborhood for a recommendation while simultaneously searching Angie's List. Both sources yielded Steve's Appliances except Angie's List said he was only open Mon -Sun. Our neighbor gave us the phone number and we called anyway and Steve was at our home within the hour and on a Sunday! He diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning fan inside the freezer almost immediately. He also just happened to have a new one in his truck that he had purchased for someone else who then did not need it. Although it was not exactly compatible with a Kenmore, Steve was able to make simple modifications to adapt it. We reloaded our freezer and refrigerator, and so far so good! I would highly recommend Steve for his knowledge, efficiency, and courtesy and would definitely call on him again if needed.

Steve was great. He checked the back of the unit and the compressor and then cleaned the unit thoroughly. He explained that he didn't want to change any parts because the unit was working. He asked me to call him in 24 hours to report how the unit was working. I was very happy with his work and his professionalism. Will definitely use him again.

I called Steve with a problem and he told me to google the error code on my washing machine first so I didn't waste money having him come to my home to diagnose the problem himself. He was right! I googled the error and it was an easy fix. I am so impressed by this man's integrity - he could have easily just scheduled an appointment and charged me to do something that I could have done myself. It's rare to find an honest business man in this world so he will be my first call if I ever need another repair. Thank you, Steve!!

Steve was awesome. He knew right away what the problem was and fixed it. He explained everything to me, showed me the old, worn out part and then showed me the new, better part. He fixed it right away. He was friendly and knowledgable and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely call him again if I need another appliance fixed.

Excellent job! Steve even came back sooner than expected as I had 3 loads of wash to finish, and one was already in the maching soaking wet!

I was fortunate to have found Steve thru Angie's List. He was friendly, knowledgeable and honest when asked specific questions regarding my appliances. He was able to fix our washing machine quickly, which I was grateful for. I would definitely refer him to a friend and would also use him again, if the need arises!

Steve was very professional and concerned. Since nothing was wrong with my washing machine, he suggested I contact a plumber. He called me several times to see how everything went.

Repaired my stove within 24 hours of requesting repair. On time and priced exactly as quoted.

Steve was prompt, responsive, and friendly. He identified the problem on the first visit correctly, and scheduled the second visit right away. He arrived on time, fixed the issue, showed me what he had done, tested the dishwasher to make sure it was indeed working well and quickly was on his way. I liked that he took the time to show me the parts, so I understood what had been causing the problem.

within minutes Steve responded to my phone message and indicated he would call in the morning the next day to set up appointment. He advised the fee for coming would be $50. By 9:30 Steve called to set up appointment for 11-12 pm. Steve arrived shortly after 11. He immediately noticed the problem with the refrigerator gasket and was able to re-secure it to the door. He added some sealant to the frame to make the seal tighter. I was relieved that I did not have a significant problem and paid his $95 fee.

Steve came the day after I called him. He immediately diagnosed the problem. The door flap on one of the two French doors become dislodged and prevented the door from closing. He removed the door flap, reset it properly in the brackets, and reinstalled it. Now the door closes properly. He charged me only the service call fee, which he told me in advance. I'm sure if I called Sears, where I originally bought the refrigerator, they would have charged much more.

Did fine job. Analyzed the problem, had part that needed to be replaced, finished the job in about 30 minutes. Very pleased

My fridge was deemed unserviceable by the warranty repairman. However, I wanted a second opinion as the fridge was only three years old. I called Steve. He charged me a 50 dollar service fee. He explained to me that to fix the fridge could be a simple replacement part or a mired of other problems. He said he would try to replace one part and if that didn't fix the fridge then it was not worth fixing. I paid for the part and crossed my fingers. Steve followed up with me that evening and the next morning to check the status of the fridge but unfortunately it was still not working. He removed the part and gave me a full refund of what I paid. After checking all, he discovered that it was a plumbing issue, nothing wrong with the appliance. Was very nice, seemed very knowledgeable and would definitely hire in the future for appliance repair.

My gas dryer tripped the circuit breaker. I called Steve and he said that I should first check with the electrician to ascertain if the problem was with the circuit breaker or the dryer. The electrician installed a new circuit breaker and the dryer now started to emit a blue flame. This got Steve very concerned and he came over at once. He took out the old igniter and saw that it had become defective. He took it away to be repaired and told me how much the job would cost. That was on a Thursday. Today he came back in the afternoon with the new part and installed it. When the dryer didn't ignite, he realized that the sensor needed to be replaced. Luckily he had the part in his truck. He installed it and ran the dryer through a number of cycles to make sure everything was A-OK. He has given me a waranty of 6 months parts and labor. I have now done two loads of laundry and the dryer works like new. Thanks, Steve.

This was the second time I used Steve's services and as with the first time , he was great. He arrived on time quickly assessed the problems and immediately started working on the solutions. Steve charged a fair price and I was very happy with his service. I would highly recommend Steve to people looking for help with their appliances.

The drum in our Samsung dryer which was one month past warranty (figures) was not spinning. The unit would try to start, make a humming sound and then turn off. I called Sal on a Friday afternoon and he was able to come same day. He did a visual inspection of the guts and was able to determine that a sock was stuck in one of the belts. He took apart the front of the unit, removed the sock and the unit now works good as new. I really appreciated his quick response because I spent one entire week unsuccessfully trying to schedule service through Samsung. Sal came to our rescue... Thanks again Sal
