Steve's Appliance Repair

Estimate was exactly what it cost. Prompt service.

One of the burners on my GE electric stove was not operating at all.I called Steve in the morning. He told me he could drop by the same evening and give me an estimate and that would cost $35. I agreed and he came and diagnosed the problem and said he could fix it then and it would cost me $85, in total. I agreed and 10 minutes later my stove was repaired. I was very pleased.

My refrigerator wasn't working properly. I called Steve on Friday morning hoping that he would be able to schedule me in for the following week. I was surprised when he said that he could be over in a couple of hours. He called me 30 minutes before he arrived to give me a definite time. When he arrived I expected him to give me an estimate of the work to be done and schedule another appointment. To my surprise, he not only estimated the damage, but went to work on it right away . He had all the necessary parts in his van and he had my refrigerator working like new in an hour. I was so impressed with Steve that I told my wife, who is president of our coop board, to recommend Steve to the entire building for all appliance repairs.

He was able to come right away to look at my appliances. He kept me informed of what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix. Scheduling was easy. Overall a very good experience.

I had a refrigerator that cooled poorly. I originally called Sears and had to wait eight days before they came. Then they expected me to wait three weeks more to order the part and fix it. They were indifferent about making me wait a month for a working refrigerator. Then we called Steve's Appliance Repair and he came the following day of our call. He came between the two hour period that he gave me and had the correct part to put in and was less expensive than Sears. I would highly recommend Steve and plan to give his card to all my neighbors. I was pleasantly pleased on Steve's quick appointment and his honesty. One other thing is that in five minutes Steve knew that it was the defrost thermostat that had to be replaced and Sears ordered me a gasket, they couldn't even get that right.

I give him a B on punctuality because he was a 1/2 hr late, but he did call a few times before his time of arrival to let me know he was stuck in traffic and that he was definitely on his way (which says alot, compared to other repairmen I've called in the past!). Once he arrived, he went right to work. He was very friendly and clean. He finished up in about an hour.

Upon closer inspection, Steve realizes the memory computer board was on its last leg, and gave me the option to fix it now or he'd come back and do it. I chose to do it now and pay additional.

Steve diagnosed the problem quickly, showed us the failed part, replaced the part and stayed to completely defrost the coil and make sure the refrigerator was cooling properly again. Punctual, efficient, personable and reasonably priced.

He was courteous and prompt and gave us what I believe was an honest estimate of the repair. We chose to take a pass.

I called Steve based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. I called him one evening around 8pm. Steve promptly answered and we made an appointment for the next morning. Steve showed up at exactly 10:30am as agreed. He checked the fridge condenser and noticed that it was cold (as though it had been off for a while). He immediately, and accurately assessed that there was no power to the condenser due to something going on with the circuit board. Upon opening the panel for the circuit board, he found the culprit - the board had burned out. Steve had the part in his van, retrieved it, and replaced it. The entire process took about 40 minutes - quick and painless. I found Steve to be very straight-forward, honest, and helpful in explaining each step he took. I would definitely recommend Steve's services for any appliance repair work.

It was a Saturday afternoon and the refrigerator wasn't on, it just wasn't running at all. My husband said I wouldn't be able to find a repairman to fix it on the weekend, and I called this guy and he was out to our house with in two hours! He had to replace a part and that fixed it.

Simply put, STEVE WAS AWESOME!!! In the unlikely event that something else breaks, I will call on Steve again to fix the problem. Overall I am more than satisfied. A's all the way. Thanks Again.

Although it took a bit of time to get Steven to actually come and look at the dishwasher, which I'm sure is a consequence of him being in demand and being a one-man operation, once he arrived he immediately discovered what the problem was (it was the valve not properly working and regulating the amount of water) he managed to get the part and replace it all within about an hour or so. My only pet-peeve, yet not a big issue whatsoever, is that he only took cash. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend Steven to any one and certainly would use him again.

Called Steve for an estimate. He showed up the same day to look at the job and the appliances which we had already bought, and give a written estimate. Made an appointment to install the new appliances and showed up when he said he would. Removed the old appliances, installed the new ones. New cooktop didn't fit existing counter cut-out. I offered to return cooktop to Sears and get one that did fit, but he spent a little while going over the installation drawings and figured out a way to make it work. He also had to replumb the existing dishwasher connections (no extra charge). While he was there, he fixed the door of the clothes dryer, and just charged $5 for the part, which he happened to have in the truck. He was knowledgeable, helpful, dependable. I would definitely call him again.

It was handled with total professionalism. Steve came out the afternoon called to diagnose the problem. Parts needed to be ordered. The repairs were made on Thanksgiving morning. Throughout the process, Steve kept in contact by telephone conscientiously. He is exactly what you look for when hiring someone to do work in your house.

They are very courteous and professional. They try to arrive on time, if there is a problem, they always call and let me know. They are considerate and willing to answer any questions I have. I am satisfied with their service.

Steve works out of his own home office. He is loyal, dedicated, and he is honest. Honesty is a big thing with me. I like people I can trust. I know I can trust Steve. I know he is neat and organized. If something is going, he will tell you. If something is salvageable, he will tell you that too. I like his level of sincerity and he always asks very reasonable prices.

I hate it when appliances do not work. I mean, I pay two thousand bucks for an oven and then it does not work, which is irritating. This company did a good job, but they could maybe lower what they are charging a little.

Do you find yourself muttering, "It's hard to get good service nowadays?" I've noticed that I have been saying that a lot lately and just when I was about to give up on finding someone to fix our washer, I turned to Angie's List where I found Steve. What a difference a phone call makes. From the very first contact, Steve was very friendly and eager to come out and take a look at our problem. Because my schedule was a bit erratic (and because of past experiences with other repair shops), I was starting to think that I would never find someone willing to accommodate me. But when it comes to Steve, accommodation is everything and after a couple of phone calls, we had both arrived on a date and time for the estimate. He's a busy man, but was very honest from the start about prior commitments. He never gave me the "I'll come between noon and six in the evening" routine. After we both arrived on a date and time, that was it. He showed up and expertly assessed and finished the job perfectly.

Steve was very professional. He arrived when he said he would and was able to give an accurate assessment of the problems and the cost.
