Steve's Appliance Repair

When the cycle of my dishwasher was completed, there was about three inches of water on the bottom of the dishwasher. Friends were telling me to buy a new dishwasher instead of having it repaired because the charge to repair it and/or the service call could be applied to the cost of a new appliance. I went to Angie's list and found Steve's name and read the reviews and ratings. When I called, he diagnosed the problem over the phone and said it was a simple matter of too much soap being used. He advised me to run it a few times without soap and call him back. I did as directed, and he was right. Not only did he save me the cost of a new disheasher but also the cost of a service call. I offered to send him a check for his advice, but he wouldn't hear of it. There are honest people in the world, and Steve is certainly one of them.

Steve was great. I called on Saturday and told him my problem and he told me it was probably the ignitor and how much it would cost. He showed up the next day very friendly and courteous. Looked at the oven and replaced the ignitor. Charged me exactly what he told me he would no surprises and didn't have to come back another day to replace the part. I would DEFINITELY use Steve again he is very friendly and courteous!!!!! My family thanks Steve for their Sunday dinners again!!!

My old GE dishwasher wasn't draining properly. Steve took a look at it, and said it would be best to just replace it. He bought a new GE dishwasher and delivered it to my apartment. It wasn't an easy job to install it, given some electrical and plumbing challenges, but Steve was resourceful and creative, and was able to set me up. New dishwasher looks and works great. Steve is forthright and honest, and he tells you exactly what is going on. He showed me all the technical aspects of what he did while installing the unit, and he made sure I understood everything. He is punctual, and he returns calls promptly. He is easy to work with and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him.

What can I say but he did a great job, More than expected

Overall, he came and installed the part cleaned up after himself and left. He'd given me an estimate before hand and kept to the price which doesn't happen often.

steve came to the house on time. he diagnosed the problem right away and replaced the defective thermostat. he also cleaned the exhaust vents and advised us of some saftey issues to prevent lint fires.the whole process took less than an hour and a half.

Great Can I add that the Angie's List review page is really terrible, and hard to follow. Steve was great, but somehow I gave him a bad review originally and I apologize. I would definitely use him again and my dryer works great.

Our problem was not an emergency therefore we were able to make an appointment with Steve that most convenient for us. He called the day we had agreed upon and he arrived promptly as promised. Steve did everything he could to repair our range but the problem ended up deeper than expected. He wanted to try one more part which would involve him returning another day before any final diagnosis was made. We agreed and Steve returned as promised. His first assessment was on target and he then explained several options that we could go with but he left the final decision to us. We decided not to continue with the repairs since the age of the range was unknown and buying a new one would be more cost effective at this time. Steve worked very diligently, came back a second day and only charged us the initial service fee. He is honest, knowledgeable, prompt, a man of his word and very polite. We will not hesitate to call him again if needed.

Steve as usual was prompt and professional and again offered the best advise a customer needs even without asking. Steve's is the best.

I must say right off the bat that actually Steve never serviced my refrigerator, so I never met him. But having said that, I also have to say that this guy is AMAZING!!!!! After calling a couple of other service people, all of whom discouraged me from repairing such an old refrigerator - and especially an Avanti - and who were not very encouraging, I finally got to Steve. He was amazingly professional, understanding and compassionate. He too told me that it was not worth repairing an Avanti and he was very sorry but for the next four days he was absolutely swamped and since he does all of the work himself, he just could not come to service my fridge. I told him I appreciated his honesty and said good-bye to him. About 20 minutes later I picked up my office phone and there's Steve again asking me if I was the lady that needed help with the Avanti refrigerator. I had not even given him my phone number, so he called the ID number on his phone. He said that he could make it out to me on Sunday afternoon, if that would help. When I said I could not do that, he even offered to come Saturday night if that helped. I couldn't do that either, but I was amazed at how much this guy cared about this customers - even someone he had never talked to before. Can you imagine what he would have done if I had already been a customer he knew? Although I can't think of anything else he could have done. I spoke to him for a little while talking about my problem and his advice was great. He really made me feel much better about the problem and saved me lots of money. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! I am certainly going back to him if I ever need help with appliances again.

Steve told me that some repair people would try to sell me a new and expensive part for my refrigerator but that in his opinion, the appliance had reached the end of its usability. He suggested buying a less expensive refrigerator (We spent about $3500 on the current one) and putting extra money into a five year warranty on the new appliance. We will definitely take this advice into consideration as we shop for a new refrigerator.

Called Steve on his cell phone about leaky washing machine and he was here within the hour. Identified problem as a torn gasket; I left a deposit, he ordered a new gasket, and was here within a few days to install. Machine works great. While this is an expensive part, it is a new machine and would have cost at least double to replace it. Steve is very friendly and courteous and maintains excellent communication. I can only say good things and would not hesitate to call him again for any appliance repair.

Called Steve with a broken fridge. Got answering machine but he called back fairly quick, explained he was out of town but could get to it first thing when he got back. Was a little hesitant since I didnt want the food to go bad but he had good reviews and willing to get to me first thing when he could. He came over, explained the defroster wasnt working, gave a new one that was better than the old one and was good about explaining. I dont know if his price was cheap or expensive but from the service I got I was happy with the service. Wife called back a week later asking a question, he was good enough to answer right away.

what I like about Steve is that it's a one man show.He's the guy you talk to on the phone and he's the guy who show up at your house to do the repair.That make him totaly invested in the work experience you have with his company.

I was convinced the thermostat was broken but Steve lowered the temperature control and said to see how it worked before I put any money into repairs. He could easily have sold me a new thermostat. He came quickly and returned my calls promptly.

Steve returned my call promptly and came when he said he would. He fixed the dryer on the initial visit, and offered a 1 year guarantee on the work. I would be comfortable recommending him to others, and using him again myself.

Pleasant experience as Steve was straight to the point and explained what he was doing.

Steve was more prompt in communicating with me about his services than any service person I have ever used. If he did not answer a telephone call when it was made, he responded within minutes to the voicemail I left. In our communications, Steve was direct and concise. He provided explanations for what he was doing and why. He gave me advice that was sound and which had my interests in mind. The only drawback is that he is busy and I therefore had to wait several days before he could come to Brooklyn (he is based in Queens), but I am glad I waited.

I had used Steve about 6 weeks ago for this Maytag Neptune dryer. I had such a great experience using him then, that I did not hesitate to call him for this new, unrelated problem with the dryer. He ALWAYS calls back, and was able to come to my home quickly. What is amazing is that even though he was confident that I needed new gas coils, he first suggested I have the poorly installed outside vent repaired to see if that helped. He did not even charge me for the visit! He asked me to call him after I ran a load to see if I still had the problem! I did, so he came back ( a day sooner than he originally promised), installed the new gas coils, cleaned the vent system, and then took $100 off the bill because he had been here only recently ( but NOT for this problem!). Then, he called me an hour later to see if the dryer was working! I have never had a service person be so conscientious. I am telling all of my friends to use Steve!

Steve turns out to be extremely reliable and professional. He showed up on time performed the repair professionally and the dryer is working like new once again. Steve noticed that my vent was not hooked up and the "on" switch was broken. He asked if I wanted him to fix these items and I said he should. Yesterday I decided I would do the additional repairs myself so I called and cancelled Steve. He called back and offered to drop off the parts at my house and charge me his cost- which I thought was very generous and kind of him. He is my appliance repair person from now on, I highly reccomend him! J

Steve returned all phone calls and communicated with us reagarding appointment and arrival time..He arrived promptly and got right to work..air conditioner was sealed into the exterior wall..He removed seal and pulled out air conditioner..cleaned all internal areas and got it draining properly again..Professional and courteous...

When I called Steve he offered to come that day. It was inconvenient for me so he came the next day. He quickly saw what was wrong and adjusted the freezer. He told me not to put any more money into the freezer and showed me what to do to help the situation. He showed me an interesting trick to keep the freezer door closed: put vaseline around the entire door to create a seal! It has worked beautifully. Steve also examined another freezer I had and gave me his opinion to not repair it because it was so old. I thoroughly respect this man. He fixed my freezer, told the truth, and made a customer who will return again. I would recommend Steve to anyone.

I had a bad CPU on the refrigerator, causing the freezer to be to cold and the refrigerator to be to hot. In addition it was a Sunday. Steve took the call, came by and in 2 minutes diagnosed the issue. He ordered the part and put it in the same day it arrived. I have never had a better experience with any type of service provider in terms of responsiveness (and willingness to work on a weekend). I will definitely use Steve again.

Steve arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue, with a minimum of out of pocket expense. Would definitely use his service again, and would recommend him for those needing appliance repair.

Steve was fantastic! He came the same day I called, gave me an approximate time frame, and called to say he could come a little earlier. Less waiting for me -great! He arrived and got right to business. Steve was very professional and polite. He diagnosed the problem and was able to repair it on the spot. He was finished and gone before the time he originally gave me. He guaranteed his labor and the part for one year. I would definitely recommend him. Great job and nice person.
