Steve's Appliance Repair

We called Steve and he explained exactly what his fee would be to look at the stove and followed thru exactly as he said. He made the service call on a Sunday (which was greatly appreciated). He replaced the igniter on the broiler and oven and it is now working perfectly. He worked efficiently and neatly. Steve is a a professional and a very honest guy. I would highly recommend using his service.

Steve diagnosed problem and solved them. We're back in action!

Overall it was a good experience. He was efficiently on time, called to reconfirm the appointment, was professional and explained everything.

Steve arrived 20 minutes after I called. He gave me an honest appraisal for fixing my ice maker, saying first it might not be worth it to fix. He fixed ignition on gas oven.

Steve's Appliance Repair was really great. He charged exactly what he quoted. He came on time and he came the following day. The price was very reasonable. He checked it, he had the part on the truck and he fixed it. He was very professional. He gave a very timely response to a phone call. The other thing is, I asked him about another appliance and he was very honest. He said that that appliance, "he doesn't usually handle it." I think he is extremely knowledgeable on all the things that he repaired.

I called Steve's Appliance after reading his Angie's List reviews and checking out his website. My experience could not have been better. I spoke with him early this afternoon and it was a done deal a few hours later. My old Magic Chef dryer was heating up but not turning and making a very scary noise. Steve told me it would be 50 to go out to the house and that if he had the part on the truck he could fix it then and there. As it turns out he did, and this dryer is not even being made anymore. He is a very nice person, responsive to phone calls, shows up when he says he will, has accurate estimates and know's what he's doing. I will happily call again if I have any other appliance problems. WIll tell all the Hicksville family and friends to call him too!

Steve was able to tweak the icemaker so that I didn't have to replace it, saving me a great deal of money.

Steve came out & determined the scope of the job & gave me a pice for the entire job. He had some trouble obtaining the hinges for the oven as they were discontinued. When the hinges were found & delivered, he came back & did both repairs. He was very professional.

steve initialy told me that my refrigerator coils need cleaning, and he would come back to clean them but he also told me that this would not necesarily fix my problem of the refrigerator not staying cold enough.he also told me that the cleaning might not work, and if not,he could not help me further and that a new refrigerator would probably bemy best bet. He returned the next day, cleaned the coils and told me to check the results the next day. unfortunately this did not solve the problem, so he refunded me the charge for the cleaning-i couldt ask for any more.

Thinking that my washer was able to handle my quilt was ambitious and the washer fought back! I thought I had completely broken it because it would make very loud banging noises during the wash and spin cycles. Enter Steve, who took time finding the problem, fixing it and making sure I was completely satisfied with the outcome. He called back while the parts were on order to give me an update on timing which is not common these days from service providers. Steve was fast in replying to my service call and helped me make an informed decision about the possible problems and different approaches to fixing the problem considering the costs involved. He was able to save the washer by changing the shocks and tightening any parts that became loose by the quilt washing. He is personable, professional, very reasonable priced and informative. I would definitely call him again for any other appliance repair and recommend him to others. Thank you Steve!

Steve responded immediately to my emergency request coming the same day I placed the call. He quickly assessed the problem assuring me that he could solve it--even if the original part wasn't available (which turned out to be the case.) He purchased the part quickly...my problem solved in a very short amount of time. I am very grateful and would eagerly recommend him to anyone who has appliance problems.

Both the ovens on my Professional DCS Range stopped working on the same week as we were leaving on vacation and having family stay over to house sit over Christmas. We could hardly leave them with no way to cook the turkey ! We called Steve on Wednesday and he came out on Thursday and fixed the Ignitors on both ovens so we were able to fly off on Friday for our Christamas vacation with no worries !

Steve's response on both occasions was friendly, professional and prompt. Fixed my gas dryer in no time and his charges were very reasonable. A few months later, I didn't hesitate to call him when my GE Monogram Microwave oven needed repair-see above. He's now ordered a new hinge for my Dacor oven. I'm sure this repair will be just as expected-easy and reasonable.

In addition to professional and knowldegable, Steve is clearly extremely customer and service oriented, This was demonstrated repeatedly throughout the process from start to finish. After examining the situation and taking the necessary time to correctly diagnos what the problem actually was, Steve was quick to order the necessary replacement parts (ice maker & valve) and get them installed and get my freezer back in business just before Christmas Eve. He made follow up calls to ensure that the unit was performing as expected, sans any leaks. In summary, I would describe the service I received from Steve on this repair as honest, customer service oriented with a high degree of technical expertise. Definitely above & beyond expectations. What more would anyone with a failing appliance hope for?! I have added Steve's Appliance Repair to my contact list as my new go-to for all appliance issues that may arise in the future.

We called Steve about a year and half ago to repair our refrigerator. He came by the next day diagnosed immediately and fixed it quickly. Now I called yesterday to repair our dryer. Again with the same great result.

Steve responded to my call immediately and arrived early that same afternoon. He examined the washer's tub, finding it intact and after running a wash cycle, determined that my gear box was the issue. He advised that the repair was a $300 job. He also advised that the problem was not severe enough to undergo the repair at this time and that I wait until the washer stopped functioning. Then, I could decide to repair or replace. I paid a $50 service visit fee which Steve said would be credited to the future repair cost. I was satisfied with his timely response and advice. Moreover, I found Steve to be very personable and would use his services again in the future for additional appliance repairs.

A couple of weeks before Christmas our oven stopped working properly. The oven wouldn't heat up to the desired temperature. In addition, our dishwasher had developed an occasional slight leak. I went to Angie's list and found Steve's Appliance Repair. He had great ratings. I called Steve, told him about both issues. He told me about the service call charge and we arranged for him to come to our house the following Saturday between 10 and 11 AM. That Saturday he called around 8:30 an explained there was a change in his schedule and asked if it would be OK for him to be at our house around 9:00. He arrived at 9:00, asked us what the problem was with the oven, Steve diagnosed the problem, knew what was wrong, told us how much it would cost to fix and with our OK went ahead and fixed the oven. Then we moved on to the dishwasher, again he asked us what the problem was, he showed us where he thought the leak was coming from and told me how I could easily fix it. No charge! I did as Steve recommended and the leak seems to be fixed. He cleaned up after himself. We paid him. Job complete. Steve is a pro, he really knows what he is doing, no BS, he gets right down to business, does the work and moves on.

I called Steve in the morning to find out if he repaired Caloric ovens as the igniter (not positive if that is what it's called) was not working. He said he did, quoted the price to come for the visit, and said he was in the area and would be there within the hour. He arrived approximately 15-20 minutes later with the appropriate parts to make the repair. He was a gentleman and very professional. He made the repair, checked that all was working and provided a parts and labor warranty! I am so happy we found a professional who absolutely knew what he was doing, was courteous and timely...a true gentleman.

Gave me honest and straightforward advice. Could have persuaded me to spend @$200 to repair a wine cooler that's not worth repairing - but didn't. Gave me the facts and let me make the call. Good guy - would call him again if I had another issue.

After being stood up twice by Sears Home Repair I found Steve on Angie's List. I called and he showed up within the hour. He assessed the problem, ordered the part, and came the following week to replace the motor in my dryer. Replacing motor was not an easy task in combo unit and tight space, had to open up the whole front of the unit. Steve was very prompt to respond, very accommodating to my schedule, cleaned out all the lint from my dryer :)

I first contacted Steve in mid-October. After I got his voicemail, he called me back almost immediately. We had a bit of trouble coordinating our times due to a family emergency, a hurricane, a holiday, and my jury duty, but he stayed in touch. Work was finally completed in early December. Steve was really flexible about making appointments that would work with my schedule and he did a decent job and cleaned up afterwards. He also took the time to give me some good information about my duct work. I think his prices are reasonable but not "OMG I can't believe how cheap that was." Then again, I have had very little experience with appliance repairs so he might be the bargain of the century! The only things I didn't care for were a) the fact that he frequently answered the phone while he was working, b) he prefers to be paid in cash, and c) he complained a lot about how hard it is to park in my neighborhood. Those might just be pet peeves of mine, so if it's not a problem for you then I say go for it!

My machine was not working. I called Steve and explained my problem. He was very honest and advised me he could come and see what the problem is but it would be $45 service fee. He advised me that the washing machine was probability done and it would be wasting my money. I am very happy with his honesty and prompt service.
