Steve's Appliance Repair

Called Steve at 9am, he was at my house by 10.30. Although the ice maker was a non-standard model Steve figured out what the problem was and fixed it, you can tell he has seen it all before. Cleaned up after himself and was very professional, I would not hesitate to call him again.

Went very well. Steve was prompt and courteous. He had to reschedule to come back a second time. After playing telephone tag and he was busy with his schedule, we finally connected and he was able to complete the job on sealing the gasket. Steve does excellent work and I most definitely will recommend him to anyone that needs their appliances repaired.

My dryer stopped heating. Within minutes of arrival, Steve opened the dryer saw that the ignitor was working, he looked at the gas valve and determined the gas had been turned off. I had electricians replace the panel next to the dryer a few weeks ago and apparently they forgot to turn the gas back on. I had no idea they turned it off. Steve also noticed that my nearly new dryer was installed with an old gas line and plastic hose vent known to be faulty. He told me to let him know when I'm ready to repair and he would apply the 50.00 service charge to that repair. I really appreciate Steve working with me as I've been bleeding money on home repairs since Feb. Steve is knowledgable, skilled, fair and honest. I will recommend him to all my friends.

I have used Steve in the past and was happy with his work. For this job, I called Steve at 2PM and he came to repair my dryer even though he was leaving that evening on vacation. He is very loyal to his customers.

He did a fantastic job. He came Saturday night in the rain from far away. He even called beforehand. He showed up to replace it from last Saturday having to order a part.

Called Steve since he had already serviced us in the past and let me tell the job was done the same!!!! he went to buy the part and return the same day -he is the kindest and most reliable, honest person we know!!! will definteley call him again if needed and refer to all our family and friends!!

I called Steve this afternoon, left a message on his voice mail, and he returned my call quickly. He asked me specific questions about the model of the washer to determine if the job fell within the scope of his expertise. I appreciated this direct approach, because in general, service fees are charged whether or not a repair is made. Once he arrived at my home, he worked efficiently in diagnosing the problem and making the repair. The cost of the repair was reasonable. Before checking on Angie's List, I called Sears Repair Department, and they quoted me a non-refundable $99.00 basic service charge even if they were unable to fix the washer. I am very satisfied with Steve's knowledge and the fast service he provided. He was also friendly and offered advice on limiting the size of loads and not washing over-sized comforters that can put a strain on the machine. If the need arises for appliance repairs in the future, I will call Steve and highly recommend his services to others.

This is my third time using Steve's Appliance. The first two were repairs but this time the dryer was a goner. He got me a new dryer from his supplier and both installed it and removed the old one. Time frame: a total of 2 days from my first phone call! There are plenty of reason reason he gets all As from me: he is a very nice person, responsive to phone calls, shows up when he says he will, has accurate estimates and know's what he's doing. I will happily call him again for repair or a new appliance.

So far I do not see a return of the problem. He also told me that should the problem return I should call him.

IN 5 MINUTES DETERMINED THAT WASHING MACHINE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE. LEAKING OIL AND WATER. OLD MUCH USED MACHINE. DID NOT OFFER TO FIX BUT SUGGESTED REPLACEMENT.. 5 MINUTES LATER HAD CHECKED DRYER. DRUM NOT SEATING DUE TO WORN COLLAR. COMING BACK TOMORROW TO REPAIR.. STEVE KNOWS HIS STUFF, IS FAIR AND WILL NOT TRY TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT HAS NO USABLE LIFE LEFT. QUOTED $125.00 TO FIX DRYER. MUCH APPRECIATE HIS HONESTY AND RESPONSE TO MY CALL. WAS HERE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF MY CALL.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I've had Steve repair a few things in my house over the years. Other than having to listen to him complain about his life and express his appreciation for his repeat customers, everything usually went fine. This time, however,things took a turn for the worst. Steve showed up about an hour and a half late, which was not a big problem. As he got to work disassembling the dryer, his usual ranting and raving started about how his job is getting the worst of him. After a while, I left him to his work. Shortly after, I returned and asked how it was going and he explained that he was just about to check if the dryer was fixed. It was! Great! Now he just had to put the dryer back into place. I do have to say that my dryer is in a tight position, propped up on a lift. So it is not easy to move around. Steve knew this. He's fixed my washer and dryer before. Again, I left him to finish his work. Shortly after that, I heard a lot of loud banging coming from the laundry area. I went to see what happened. What I saw was Steve very aggressively complaining to me about where my dryer is positioned. He was also fumbling with a piece of my dryer panel that he had broken off, frantically trying to screw it back on. He walked out of the room saying "I'll go out to my truck and get something for that so it doesn't rattle." I confronted him with the fact that he broke the panel off and he very rudely continued to complain about where my dryer was. He came back from his truck and stuck silver tape on the panel. This is what was supposed to help it not rattle when I used the dryer. He told me he would take $20 off the original cost of $100 but I was not happy with that. He lost his patience and broke my dryer! In all honesty, I told him that I felt that I shouldn't pay him. He angrily pulled the dryer back down and said that he was going to take the part he replaced out then. My husband came home from work and I called him down to see what was going on. Steve, then, offered to take another $10 off the cost of repair. Not good enough! After listening to his bad attitude and his lack of remorse for making a big mistake, he was paid $60 and I was left with a miserable experience and a new broken panel on my dryer.

He was excellent. He came within the day, he was just very responsive, his price is good and he did a good job fixing it.

My washer wasn't working and it was old enough that Steve recommend I get a new washer. Came out to install it for me and had some guys remove the old one.

Steve order the part which only took one day to get. He came pull out the washer replace the part. He was at my house for 45min the most. He was very professional and quick. This is the second time I have used Steve services. I was just so greatful he could fix it. Our washer and dryer are attached model to replace both just was not in the budget. But thanks to Steve we don't have to worry about it.

First of all, if you're considering buying a front-loading washer, don't. I've already had one that died after only a few years, and it has now happened again. This was the second service call I made to Steve on this machine - the first was to replace a broken gasket. This time, the machine shut down in mid-cycle and the tub simply would not turn. Steve determined that this was a major problem, and the machine would not be worth fixing, and he expressed doubt that it could even be fixed at any price. As I have had major problems with front-loaders in the past, I agreed that the machine would not be worth fixing. I have also used Steve before and completely trust his judgment. After spending considerable time with the machine, he only charged me the flat $50 for the service call. He also volunteered to disconnect the old machine to make it easier for removal when I ordered a replacement. I asked Steve for a recommendation for a new model, and he unhesitatingly recommended the Speed Queen AWN412, a heavy duty, top loading mechanical washer that does not have a lot of fancy electronic controls. (It also comes with a standard three-year warranty, which gives a pretty good indication of how well the company stands behind it.) While I do like many of the features of a front-loader, my experiences with them convinced me that they are not reliable, and that given the cost of a new machine, reliability had to be my top priority. I researched the Speed Queen model and called Steve the next day. He was able to identify a dealer and arrange delivery almost immediately. The price quoted was about $100 lower than the lowest price I was able to find online. The machine was delivered, and Steve arrived shortly thereafter to hook it up and make sure it was working properly. He charged me $100 to do this. So far so good with the new machine. I'm hoping it will last for many years to come. I'm very glad to have a reliable repair person who can give me advice on which appliances to buy. There is so much junk out there that it is a relief to be steered toward one of the few products that seems to be solidly built. I would not hesitate to call Steve again for any major appliance repair. He is very easy to get in touch with by cell phone, and always comes very quickly after the initial call. I completely trust his judgment and value his advice.

Unbelievably great service. Fixed my Kenmore washer, explained everything in detail, offered advice where needed, and even told me how to save money going forward. Steve knows his stuff like no other, and there's not many guys left in this (or any) repair industry that work the way he does.

Nice to meet and do business with you. He thought the problem was both the ice maker and the sensor . He changed the sensor first, saw the problem was solved and went no further. He reduced the priced he had quoted me.

Steve is fantastic! I called him in the morning and he was at my house that afternoon, right on time, to look at my fridge. He was great with my dog and fixed my fridge in no time at all! He knew exactly what the issue was and had the part right in his truck. All this and a fantastic price! I went from thinking I was going to have to purchase a new fridge for at least $2500 to just paying $195 to have our fridge working good as new. I will definitely recommend Steve to my neighbors/friends and will be keeping his number in case any one of other large appliances break. Highly recommended!!! Update: 1 month later and our fridge is still running good as new!!!
