Steve's Appliance Repair

Another otherwise honorable repair service we used in the past was nice enough, but they did not answer their telephone for several days, while all my food in my fridge began to suddenly spoil, following their repair, 2x, on our fridge ran into a fluke snag, and I had already paid $ to them, which I could not afford to pay again to an additional firm. My emergency voice mail messages to this repair service went unanswered and caused me tremendous agita. That situation has left me cautious. I was glad to hear that Steve repairs items around the clock when emergencies occur, and previous reviewers confirmed that Steve answers his telephone on weekends too. That was now very important to me. On Wednesday afternoon, our oven's heating element had a very serious problem. I called Steve and he said that he could probably help, that he would come the following day within a 2-hr window of time, and that he'd call to confirm prior to his arrival. On Thursday, to my surprise, he not only confirmed, but he came early. Steve quickly accessed the situation, and said that he would return the following day to install the repaired item with a new part, hassle free. I did not have to search for this part myself. Good. On Friday, Steve again arrived super punctually, installed the new oven part correctly, and tested it to make sure that it really worked. But I waited until Saturday to write the review, because I had a lot of cooking to do for a large dinner. Originally I had been greatly concerned that we would have to cook the food elsewhere and be very inconvenienced. But thanks to Steve's on-the-ball tenacity, everything was smoothly corrected within one day of his arrival, which was a huge and very welcomed relief! While Steve was at our home on Thursday, based on other reviews that I read, we also asked him to look at our clothes dryer because it was not appropriately drying our clothes for a very long time already, and it had begun squeaking too. Oy! On Friday, Steve additionally fixed the heating element of the clothes dryer and cleaned out the lint tube. I am excited and eager to have our clothes dryer successfully dry items again in a normal span of time, instead of the unbelievable 2-4 hours that it regularly used to take. Steve gave us more advice about using our clothes dryer in the most effective manner. Thanks Steve!!

FRIDAY -My refrigerator was not as cold as usual, freezer was fine. SATURDAY - I called a few repairmen to come and see what could be the problem. The men were not nice at all, they said I asked too many questions and they thought I didn't trust their work, they responded with find someone else. SUNDAY - Things happen for a reason! I called Steve, a world of difference. Steve listen to my story, he said he had another job but could come after. about an hour. I asked him about a service charge, he said it would be $75. cash, and if a repair would be done the service fee would be applied. Steve called in about a half hour and he was in front of my house. He was pleasant and professional, went straight to his work. The thermostat was bad, he had one in his truck and replaced the part. I had a working refrigerator in a short time. I would use Steve again especially because he came on a Sunday.

Steve is punctual and responsive. He explained the problem and ordered the parts needed.He was able to fix the problem in a timely manner. The price he quoted was reasonable. I highly recommend Steve.

Steve called back right away, asked questions about the kind of noise our washer was making, explained possible reasons for it, told us that there was a $50 service call that would be deducted if the job was accepted (which we agreed to), and came to the house within 2 hours. He found a broken coupling to be the reason why our washer was making that noise and it was not spinning. He had the part with him and replaced it right away. It took him less that an hour to find and fix the problem.

In addition to fixing the issue with the laundry machine, Steve came back to bring 2 packages of a recommended product (afresh) which he got for us at cost, no extra charges. We have hired Steve several times before for various issues (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, etc) and have received excellent service each time. We would definitely call Steve again - highly recommended!

Very well. Steve arrived at my house precisely on time and performed a quick troubleshooting of the unit, explaining to me as he went along. After troubleshooting, he gave me the price, and I agreed. He had the required part in his truck and completed the work in a timely manner. Steve was pleasant and professional.

Steve is the best - everything that you look for in a repair/service professional. Not only was he available immediately, he showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, while providing details and background on the work he was doing, had the part I needed, and installed/checked it quickly on the spot. He also provided a lot of good tips on maintenance and running the appliance. I was so impressed with Steve that I had him look at a few other appliances I have, so that when there's a problem with one of them I can call him again (in a heartbeat). In short, you've found your repair man - call Steve, you will not be disappointed.

Once again, Steve was terrific. He first came to assess the problem, then told me what was needed. He kept in touch with me after ordering the part, to tell me how long the wait would be. He called me a week ago to let me know that the appointment would be some time this week. He then called me on Monday to narrow it down to Wednesday or Thursday. He called me again to let me know it would be Thursday, and gave me a two hour time window, with the assurance that I could call him if I needed to change it. He called again today to let me know he was on his way, and arrived promptly at the start of the time window. He quickly and efficiently changed the fan motor, making sure before he left that it was working properly. Steve is always prompt, efficient, pleasant and professional. He is, above everything else, honest! If he can't do something( rare!), or doesn't think it is worth spending my money to fix, he tells me. And his prices are very fair. Steve is a gem in the appliance repair business, and I will continue to use him and recommend him.

Steve answered my phone call right and set up an appointment. We set up an evening appointment for a few days later. He arrived on time and fixed the belt to my dryer very quickly. We would definitely use his services again to fix any other appliances and recommend him to friends and family in the future.

Steve told us the repair our dishwasher needed was not worth doing on an older machine. We bought a new one independently (he confirmed we were getting a good price) and called him the day it was delivered. He initially said he could install it for us the next morning, but then called back that afternoon to say he could actually get the job done after 5:30 pm the same day. Our new machine was installed and working before 7 that evening. We were very pleased with the service and would call Steve again for future work.

Steve came on time, he was very polite and explained to me why my dishwasher wasn't working. He also cleaned up after himself and left where he was working clean. He also said that if i had any more trouble to call him and he would come back. Over all i would be happy to hire him again.

Steve was very professional and accommodating. He worked with my schedule to make sure he could provide the service. After explaining the current issue he quickly detailed my various options and was able to fix the issue very quickly. I'm very satisfy with his work and would highly recommend his services to anyone. I will definitely use his services in the future!

It went EXCELLENT! I contacted Steve's early this afternoon - not expecting to have the stove repaired for a few days or so. Now, not even 6 hours later, our stove is working again! Steve is a very personable guy, very professional and efficient. The repair was done with no hiccups or surprises. Job well done! I will most certainly call Steve's again if another appliance needs repair.

I called Steve this morning and he answered the phone on my first try. I explained that my stove stopped working for no apparent reason, after having cleaned it. I had tried unplugging and plugging the stove back in. Steve suggested that the outlet may not be working; and advised me to check the viability of the outlet by plugging in something else that I know works. Well, he was right! Fortunately, the outlet had a reset button and now the stove is up and running! What a pleasant person Steve is! Although I feel somewhat embarrassed that I didn't think of that solution; Steve never made me feel foolish. He just matter-of-factly told me what to do, and it worked. He was willing to help me, while fully aware that he would lose out on a visit and fee. I will surely call Steve again if necessary; and definitely recommend him to my friends. THANKS, Steve!!!

I called Steve and was pleasantly surprised that he could come the next day! Steve was helpful, helped me fix my washing machine which was off balance. He also diagnosed the balance belt was old and needed replacement. He ordered the parts and returned in 3 days. Steve fixed my washing machine just in time for house guests who were visiting from Europe!

Steve was prompt, professional and upfront. He checked out my dishwasher, told me what I can do to fix and salvage it and now it works better than ever. I was ready to buy a new dishwasher, but Steve saved me $100s of dollars. I've used him for other appliance repairs and he is always the first phone call on my list. I trust him 100%.

Can't speak highly enough about Steve. Always followed up on my phone calls, showed up on time, and provided excellent service. Rather than take us through a long drawn out process that I feel most repairmen would make us go through, he saw that it was a simple problem with a simple fix, and got it solved in a matter of minutes. We had to twist his arm to accept the service fee since he felt bad accepting it for such a simple fix. Thats honesty, and thats someone I would hire again anytime.

Steve called first to let me know he was on the way. On arriving he immediately determined the problem with the dryer which was a simple fix and ordered the parts needed to fix the dryer door latch. Steve then attempted to fix the oven on my Defiance stove which he was not familiar with. After doing several diagnostic tests he said he could not take care of the problem and that I could try calling a repair company that specialized in Defiance products. He left at this point with the understanding that he would return with the needed part. About 20 minutes after leaving I received a call from Steve who said that he remembered that on some brands of stoves that had a clock on the front panel that there was a manual override function and that I should try pushing the button on the clock, this immediately lit the oven. I am very happy with the service provided and the honesty with which Steve does his job. I would recommend him in a heart beat to anybody.

My refrigerator is over 15 years old made by Whirlpool. Freezer on top. Refrigerator underneath. Yesterday morning we found that the refrigeration section was not working but the freezer was. Since it was an old refrigerator, I briefly toyed with the idea of replacing it. However, after seeing current prices, I decided to see what it would cost to repair it. In my mind I decided that if the repairs would be over $300, I would replace it. Looking on Angie's list, I decided to call Steve. He told me that it would be $50 to come over to diagnose the problem, and the $50 was deductible from the price of the repair, if I decided to have him fix it. I left my name on his answering machine and he called me back promptly. To my surprise, he was able to come that evening. He quickly diagnosed the problem and even had the parts in his van to fix my refrigerator! That was so cool and so is my repaired refrigerator. Steve's only mistake is that he left his coat in my house and had to come back for it the next day.

Steve is very punctual and responsive. It was extremely easy to make an appointment with him. unlike other contractors, he does not push you off and say that he doesn't have time to get to you. in fact, i felt like he made every effort to get to you as soon as possible, assuming you are available. dryer works great now after the cleaning. we had a water leak in our refrigerator and that is fixed now too. his prices are very reasonable as well. I highly recommend him and will definitely use steve again in the future.

I called Steve and we arranged to meet on Sunday, January 19th in the morning. He arrived on time. I asked him to see if a refrigerator in an apartment that I had purchased was able to be repaired. It seemed like the compressor was gone. He attempted to change a relay switch. It worked for a few minutes and died. The unit was not fixable. He helped me arrange to purchase a new one with a great price. It will be delivered and the old one removed in a day. Steve was very knowledgeable and courteous. I will definitely recommend him for all appliance needs. His fees were reasonable and prearranged....no surprises.

Our machine is located in a small closet making it very difficult to repair. Steve managed to remove lid and located a small leak. He informed us he would order the part but wanted us to watch machine with open lid to make sure this leak created the water we were seeing.He was cautious on fixing machine too quickly and informed us he wouldn't recommend fixing if it needed more than the part ordered.And he assured we wouldn't be stuck with part.He called after I did several more washes and came to repair machine.He also called after to find out if any water issues present,which they weren't.We were happy with repair felt he was honest and followed up with us.We were happy with service and would use again.
