Steve's Appliance Repair

Steve was very forthcoming with advice, since this isn't the kind of thing he would handle. He explained the best course of action - he advised purchasing the fridge and delivery/installation through a large appliance firm, explaining how to explain to the sales people the situation, and how I should handle with the installers. The conversation was pleasant and very helpful - even though Steve wasn't making any money from the consult, he was patient and professional, clearly explaining my best course of action. I very much appreciate Steve's kindness and generosity of his time and experience.

Steve is very prompt and responsive. I called him Wed and he came on Thursday. He is very honest and let me know right on the phone that if he can repair the dishwasher it will cost $100 and change. If he finds that it would cost much more than that, he would recommend replacing the unit and we just pay in for the diagnostic fee. He is a trustworthy professional and that is hard to find in any business these days.

Getting help from Steve was a pleasure. My refrigerator was making raucous noises and holding a temperature of 50 degrees over a weekend. Steve came, repaired it is less than an hour, and charged a very reasonable fee. Now the refrigerator is humming along at 37 degrees.

Recommended we have a plumber check our pipes in the wall. This turned out to be the cause of the problem.

Steve did a fantastic job. It is an old machine wth hard to locate parts. First of all, he diagnosed the problem. He explained the cost to us and did not push us to get the work done. We had to get it done because we need to have some work done in basement before we get a new one. He ordered the part and quickly got it given the difficulty in getting the part. He promptly came and quickly installed it and got our dryer working for us, which is what we needed. All totaled, we called him on a Monday morning and the dryer was repaired by Wednesday afternoon.

As always, Steve came promptly, got right to work, brought appropriate tools and equipment, diagnosed it immediately. Replaced the circuit board on the spot so that we could use the fridge and ordered a fan motor for us which he installed the next day. I would say that it took approximately 45 minutes from the time I dialed Steve's number to the time we had a working refrigerator again. This is a guy who really knows what he is doing and has all the testing equipment to diagnose.

Prompt, came prepared based on information I gave him in the initial phone call. I called on Saturday afternoon and he came early Sunday morning to accommodate my schedule.

Steve was prompt and honest. He showed me exactly what the problem with the dryer was and told me that if he had the part in his truck, he could fix it. Luckily he had the part and fixed the problem within 15 minutes. The price was extremely reasonable.

Upon calling Steve for the first time and leaving a voicemail - he called me back within 15 minutes or so. This is unheard of. He showed up on time and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He needed to order a part and came back the next day to install it. He is very professional, very pleasant, and his prices are reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Steve came to my house within an hour after my call which is virtually unheard of with appliance repair technicians. Without my washer and dryer, I am lost since I have a large amount of laundry to do every day. He quickly diagnosed the problem, offered suggestions on how best to fix it, and then repaired it right away. I was really happy with his speed and professional demeanor. Within a few days, my washing machine started giving me trouble, and he repaired that too. I would absolutely call him again to repair any appliance in our home.

Overall this was a fantastic experience. Unlike most repairmen/contractors, Steve was honest, quick, and was clearly looking out for my best interest. He gave good advice and I'd feel comfortable working with him again and recommending him to others. Thanks, Steve!

I called Steve very early Monday morning...before 8 a.m. He called me back right away. Steve was professional and prompt. Once he arrived he quickly assessed the situation and told me that the defrost timer (i think that's what it was) was no longer working...causing the heating unit (yes there is a heating unit in your freezer) to not fully defrost so it began to freeze therefore no air current was getting to the refrigerator - hence it not working...he melted the ice build up, replaced the timer and off he went. Steve was very nice, explained the issue and fixed only what needed to be fixed. I would recommend Steve without hesitation.

After asking a few questions over the phone, Steve determined that it was not worth fixing our washing machine. He could have easily visited our home, determined what he already knew and charged us a service fee. But he did not. His high ratings are well deserved. Obviously, he's a very ethical individual. Highly recommended!

He's the best I've seen. We've had a lot of people come through doing work for us and no one does it as well. He makes sure to keep in touch, lets us know when he is going to be here, and gives me a fair price for high-quality work. I am really pleased with him. I already have my next project lined up with him.

I called Steve at approx. 8:30 A.M. to ask for a repairman for my refrigerator because it stopped cooling. He was very professional and said he would be there a little before 12. He came early early which really helped me out. He looked at the refrigerator and told me exactly what needed to be done. He let me know the price and went right to work. He was done by 1145. He did a wonderful job and now my refrigerator works great. i would definitely recommend him to other people

While wiping off the countertop one evening I accidently hit the underside of the open dishwasher door and a plastic piece broke off that I thought was insignificant. Little did I know that this little piece of plastic was the reason the dishwasher would not work. When Steve arrived (on time and called me twice, which is rare nowadays) he diagnosed the problem within two minutes of arriving. He quickly fixed the dishwasher and explained things to me as he was working. My dishwasher from 1985 is working again. I would use Steve again (hopefully no more appliances will break) and would recommend him to anyone.

In one word - OUTSTANDING! I called Steve because the ice maker in my 4 year old refrigerator had stopped working. He promptly returned my call and showed up that day, at an agreed upon time. To make a long story short, the fan wasn't working and needed to be replaced, which Steve did as quickly as possible, keeping me informed along the way since he had to order the part. Steve suggested that the ice maker may have stopped working because the fan was not working and would not install a new ice maker until he was sure that the fan replacement did not solve the original problem. And he was 100% right. Within 1 hour of installing the new fan, I had ice from the old ice maker. Such candor and honesty is rare in a repairman and I am lucky to have found someone so reliable. Great job, Steve!

I was satisfied with his work and knowledge. He can sound curt and gruff on the phone (not the most professional experience), but he does what he says and knows his business. I value this much more than someone who is nice on the phone, but incompetent as a repairman.

I called Steve about my home refrigerator that was not working properly. Without hesitation Steve walked me through the process of fixing it myself. Free advise. What a guy.

I was concerned that by removing a part that was built into the original design, and not replacing it with anything, was going to be causing more problems later on. However, several months of use have reassured me that the part is probably not needed at this point. Time will tell. He also warned us that with an old machine, investing a lot of money for a major repair would not make sense in the future. His years of experience allowed him to quickly diagnose the problem and solve it in an unconventional way. That is the sign of expertise, not just a mechanic who follows a manual. I'm sure that this solution does not exist in the manufacturer's repair guide.

It went very well. Steve came to the house at the time he said he would come. Was very professional and fixed the problems we were having and let us know about the refrigerator we own.

Because I have an old machine Steve advised that there was no point in paying a couple hundred dollars to repair. Our best option was to buy a new machine. Luckily it was easily fixed problem (the machine stopped spinning) and Steve just charged us for the service call. Also I spoke to Steve at approximately 10:30 on 8/13. He said he would be to our house by 12, and he was right on time. I would definitely recommend and use Steve again if the need arises.

Steve was very responsive, called me back on a Sunday shortly after I left a message. He was reliable, came just a few hours later to assess our fridge. He was honest, informed us that we were in need of a new refrigerator, and explained why. We were very grateful for his responsiveness, reliability, and honesty, and will plan to use him again in the future when in need of appliance repair.

I asked Steve to check my washing machine that had leaked from the bottom and to look at a dishwasher that worked well but the cable or wire that held the door in place had snapped when it was lowered for loading (pretty old machine). I can?t say enough good things about Steve. First, he promptly returned my call although he was out of town, called me back when he said he would and showed up on time, all the while communicating his status. Moreover, he is a knowledgeable, honest, kind and respectful service provider. My washer did not leak while Steve was here ? he stayed and ran two full cycles to check. He was so patient during this time and when I offered him more money than his very reasonable service call fee, he refused to accept it. Instead, he told me to go out for a nice dinner!! He was very forthcoming about the cost to repair what I suspected was wrong with the washer and suggested it was not worth the cost. He also looked at the dishwasher and advised that I just replace it ? in my best interest. Steve is a wonderful, knowledgeable and honest service provider and I trust that he will never lead a customer to spend money on a repair that is not in their best interest. If you are in need of an appliance repair, hire this man!! I know I will if I am ever in need of an appliance repair again!

Our refrigerator wound up not needing repair but he did not try to sell us anything we didn't need. His assessment of our oven problem was accurate and we got the help we needed from Samsung. Extremely honest and reliable which is very hard to find today. Steve will be the first we call with any problems with have! Thank you!!
