Description of Work: He took the cover off my washing machine which leaks occasionally; however, he did not find the source of the problem. He left the cover off and suggested we watch the machine to find the leak's source; he called several times to see how things were going but the machine did not leak again- an honest guy!

Description of Work: My Samsung washer would not drain. Since I purchased at Sears, I called them for repair. They came and diagnosed problem and ordered new pump and charged me in advance for the repair. They kept canceling my appts. and part ordered never came. After much frustration, I called Steve's Appliance found here on Angies List. I gave him part number for pump that I had from my Sears receipt and he purchased part and came on SUNDAY. Unfortunately, he could not fix washer due to Sears having broken the door lock when they came the first time. He sold me the pump at his cost which was more than half of what Sears charged me. Steve also DID NOT CHARGE me for the Sunday visit. He was very helpful and advised me how to deal with the jerks at Sears. Long story short, my washer was eventually fixed by Sears, but I saved considerably with the part supplied by Steve and his advice was INVALUABLE. Would definitely recommend!

Description of Work: Steve showed up on time and was available for a wekend service call. Refrig was leaking; he took a look and explained it was not worth fixing that the compressor was wearing out; but I'd get a couple of more monthe use out of the unit.

Description of Work: Replacement of refridgerator part. Technician arrived promptly and tested the appliance and informed us of the problem. We agreed to the repair and it was done very promptly. the charge was reasonable.

Description of Work: I have an old stove that had bad burners. Steve came out a couple of weeks ago, diagnosed the problem and then went about searching for replacement parts which wasn't easy given the age of the appliance. He found what we needed, installed the piece and cleaned up the stove, saving us hundreds of dollars it would have cost to replace. Great job for a fair price.

Description of Work: Steve came on my first call to check my dishwasher. He did a diagnostic with his voltmeter and proclaimed the dishwasher repair costs will be very high. He recommended a new one and quickly added that he can offer a good deal from his wholesaler complete with a 4 year maintenance agreement. On Sat 19 he returned with a dishwasher in a new box. After completing the installation jobthe dishwasher was tested and found to be defective. The door of this new dishwasher was misaligned and could only be closed shut using a lot of force. She gave me a ' c*** and bull story' about the door wanted some adjustment and he could do it and everything will be fine. He became a bit agitated when questioned about a new dishwasher that is defective and he remarked that he will take it back, which he did without hesitation. There was no cost to me at this time but he had failed to provide the service he promised. I suspect Steve attempted to sell a reconditioned dishwasher to me that was overpriced. Steve was either honest or suspected that if he had left this it would be problems for him later. Steve might be a good technician but needs to communicate better with his customers. His tone of voice needs to be less threatening. Sorry Steve you failed this one.

Description of Work: My refigerator conked out on me a few days before Thanksgiving Day. I joined Angie's List and started looking for someone to do the repair as I had never needed to hire a refig repair person before. Steve had another repair to do before he would be able to come over but he gave an approximate time of about one hour. He was prompt and that made me very happy. He diagnosed the problem, explained everything to me, gave what I thought to be a fair price and was very neat as he did the repair. He even gave me a ride to the bank and brought me back home. I wld definitely use him again.

Description of Work: I used Steve's Appliance Repair for a refrigerator repair. He replaced the heating element in the freezer and he repaired the thermometer.

Description of Work: My son's dryer was not working. He called Steve's appliance and he came quickly as promised and was able to complete the repair immediately. He was polite and professional. I would highly recommend him.

Description of Work: My fridge was leaking from the freezer. We thought it was because our kitchen floor wasn't leveled and this had damaged something inside the fridge. We weren't sure if it was worth to fix the fridge since it is a little old. It took Steve 2 minutes to take a look at the fridge and tell me what it was and took him 30 minutes to fix it!!! He was very polite, explain the whole thing that was happening to the fridge in plain English, he actually came the same day I call him and gave a very fair price and warranty for his services. He is the best!!! I am very pleased with his services and I would definitely call him again for future services.

Description of Work: Installed bracket that attached dishwasher to countertop. On another occasion I called Steve because the dishwasher was leaking and flooding the kitchen floor. After checking out the dishwasher, he told me that the motor was not functioning properly. Since I had the motor replaced just a few months earlier by GE, Steve suggested I call them and request that the repair be made at no cost to me. He only charged me $20 for assessing the situation.

Description of Work: Steve came out to evaluate whether our gas range can be repaired or should be replaced. He was prompt, courteous, and gave us his best advice; to replace it.
