I was supposed to get it done, before Hurricane Sandy, super storm Sandy occurred. They had to push back because the super storm came. My service was to be performed the day of Sandy. The week right after Sandy they came. The guys were excellent. Everything was an “A”. They were really good and if there was any issue they came right back and resolved it. They did more than they needed to do. They did a lot of work, they were very clean too. Price is good. Even some of the gutters that they didn’t really have to fix, they fixed it. They put guards everywhere and they reinforced it so nothing could get in. They were pretty good. They workers were very professional. they were very opened to my concerns. They were very neat, very clean and as far as the time, they were punctual. There was nothing they needed to do for improvement. To be honest, if more professional did the work and treated the customer the way they do, I wouldn’t have any problem.
Description of Work: It was gutter replacements and gutter guards.

The work was done fine, but the only issue I had was that they did not take the old door. I had to actually dispose it myself. They were very professional Everything was fine. What can be changed is the removal of the old door. that should have been somthing that they should have taken care of themselves, instead of having the customer do it. Home Depot uses independent, individual contractors. I guess each individual contractor has their way about doing things. What they could have improved is the disposal of the old garage door, instead of having the customer being responsible for the disposable of the old garage and the hardware and everything else. I think the company should be responsible to haul away the old garage door. It wasn’t a big deal, but I just thought it should have been included. It was a good price because it was a sale where they gave you a promotion with it. It was a good deal. I was fine with it. For the quality, no problem so far. The installation inside the garage door to where you can actually pull it up with your finger, so the quality is good. With my old one, I had to actually use all my muscle to get it up. Besides the haul away of the door, I didn't have any problem.
Description of Work: They replaced the old garage door and installed a new one.

replacement windows

I had no problem. They have lifetime warranty on the windows, so if anything happened to the windows they would come back and replace it or fix it. I can’t forget the price, it was $12,500. What happed is I had a specialty color, I also had laminated wood look on the inside of them, so they’re not the standard windows. That’s why they’re pretty expensive, because they were special ordered windows. I’ve never had a problem and we’re talking about 7 years now. Going on 7 years now and so far so good. I’ve had no problem with them so far. If I call them right now, they'll ship somebody to look at the problem and they'll fix, 1,2,3. I’ve also used them for gutters, I’ve used them for the garage so, I use them all the time. I think they were professional, they took their time. They were very good as far as taking feedback from me as far as what I wanted. They were very professional about it, they cleaned up well. It was a pleasant experience it wasn't one of those "I can't wait till they get out here" type of experience where you grin and bear it. They took their time and they were informative. They asked questions about what I should do and stuff like that. The experience was pretty okay, I didn’t have any problem with that. I don’t think they could have done anything differently. I’ve owned my home since 1979, and to install new windows in a 1939 window, there is not much you can do.
Description of Work: They installed 12 windows.

We needed new outdoor lights for our house. Wanted one double light for the deck/patio and one single, motion detecting light for the side of the house for security and for it to go on when we throw the garbage out at night. Took 15 minutes to even find someone to help. Except for 2 of the lights, none others on display were hooked up so we wanted to know how much light the lights we were interested in would throw. When we finally got someone to come over to the aisle, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "just buy the light, hook it up and if you don't like it, you can return it." We told him we were not interested in doing that and he just walked away. We got someone else to help us and she had no knowledge of electrical at all. She said she would ask and I watched her go over to the previous employee who walked away from us and heard him tell her, "just tell them to buy it, what do you want from me." She never came back to us either. We complained to a manager, who said he was going to discipline the sales person but really offered no additional help on the lights. Decided to go to Lowe's nearby and got someone who was able to give us details on every light and offer recommendations.

My experiences with Home Depot have been fine, they're OK. Whatever I need, if they have it, I buy it. If they don't have it I go to another Home Depot. We have two or three Home Depots in this area. The workers in that store are good, they helped me right away and showed me where the product was.

The salesman asked if we had one already, which we do. When the delivery came, the men tried to take out the old one, but were unable to remove it because of the legs. They told me that I would have to get a plumber to come in to take it out and install the new one. I called the store and they were useless. I ended up having to refuse delivery of the new dishwasher and try to figure out my next step. I am so mad I could spit nails!

I was very happy with their services! I could not say enough good things about the contractors they sent out. They completely gutted the kitchen and it looks great. The price was a little high, but the quality of work was excellent.

Their sales person came and told me that they offer a lifetime warranty. I decided to go with them because of this fact. He explained to me before signing the contract that different members of the crew will have different specialties. They sent out one man (Byron) with his son and nephew (who subcontracted for Home Depot). I tried to leave them alone as much as possible, and I bought them lunch each day to be nice. Everything was fine so far with the siding. Then they began work on the roof over the front porch ceiling, fascia, banisters and railings. It was at this point when the contractor began requesting that I make trips to the Home Depot to pick up things (brackets) that he needed to complete the job. I wrote down the exact items that he needed and he told me to just hold onto my receipt. Another day he asked me to go get some sort of cleaner. He also requested along the way for me to write him a check, made out to ?cash?, in order to purchase further supplies and he reassured me that this is the way that they do things. While I was at the store purchasing things one of the salesman recognized me and came over to see how things were going. He explained to me that the contractor was already given everything that he needed for the job. So after returning to my home with the extra parts that I had most recently purchased, he claimed that one piece was missing. I explained that they were both in the bag. One day he continued working into the evening hours without a flood light. He assured me that he knew what he was doing and to not worry about it. I noticed later on that the banisters and railing he had worked on were crooked. Two days later when Byron came back over to look at it he claimed that it was Home Depot?s problem. Keep in mind that Home Depot had told me that different contractors would be doing different parts of the job because they each had specialties. So far Byron had done it all. When I called the project manager (who had never set foot on my property), he said that Home Depot isn?t even licensed to work on the vinyl. I then called the salesman and he came out to look at the work. He shook his head and said that this wasn?t what he told him to do. He apologized and said that he had taken Byron at his word. He told me that he would get someone in there to fix everything. They asked me for my personal receipts and promised that they would give the originals back after they make copies. I haven?t seen the originals since, they gave me copies instead. So finally, on December 23rd, they sent out a new crew to fix the work. I was very uncomfortable with the working conditions (it was very cold outside). I couldn?t understand why they just didn?t wait until spring since we had already waited this long. So at this point in time, the work that I originally contracted them to do is still not finished. When I called Citibank to dispute the charges, they looked into it and claimed that I signed a paper with Home Depot stating that the job was complete. I had only signed something with a zero dollar amount on it. They ended up giving me a refund of $800, but a representative for Home Depot said that ?no amount could make up for this job?.
Description of Work: I hired Home Depot to replace windows, siding, banisters and railings.

It did not go well from the beginning. They are unreliable and unprofessional.
Description of Work: I went to this Home Depot because I needed to have a room sheetrocked, spackled and painted. I asked for an estimate and was told someone would contact me within the next two days. That was in August. It is now October. I never heard from them re: that work. I also needed to have a storm door installed. They finally sent someone to measure the door - but there was a mix up - and they ordered the wrong door and charged me the wrong price. (I'm still waiting for the credit.) Of course they couldn't install it when they said they would because it was the wrong door. It's been two months. They're supposed to come tomorrow with the right door - but I don't have much hope. (They also said they'd "do something to make up for all [my] aggravation.) I'm still waitng for that too.
