First the good. They came when they said they would, on time ready to work. They were polite and friendly. Now the rest. Some of their work was shoddy. We have had to call them back three times to fix things that should have been right to begin with. Finally we just gave up and fix things ourselves as we come across them. We purchased a house in the spring of 2013, and it needed some plumbing, electrical, and construction work done. The realtor recommended H. Jacks. We called and they came the next day, which we thought was terrific. They accessed the work to be done and gave us a quote and a start date just a few days later. They showed up ready to work on the start date. We had some plumbing done in our downstairs bathroom, they pulled the water pump and replaced it along with all the lines running into the tanks in the house. They replaced the cold water holding tank which is in the downstairs bathroom. That work appears fine, however some of the trim and a panel of the door to the hot water tank were not replaced. They also upgraded our electric system to 200 amp and moved the electric box from it's original location. The work to the house appears to be fine so far--it passed inspection. They hooked up too many outlets to one circuit, we keep blowing circuits. The entire 4-bedroom, 1 bathroom upstairs is wired to the same circuit as the microwave downstairs. We have 4 computers online in our bedrooms. Nearly every time someone downstairs runs the microwave, the electricity upstairs shuts down. Ugh. There are plenty of empty circuits available, they just didn't use them. We needed to expand and remodel the upstairs bathroom. We discovered that the shower had never been connected properly the first time we tried it after closing--inspector must have missed that--so we had H. Jacks replace that shower with a tub/shower combo. We had to have them return to fix the drain when that didn't work properly. The floor wasn't level where the bathroom extension connects to the original part of the bathroom. The carpenter who did the construction work came back and gave us some cockamamie story about why the floor in that room could never be level. We didn't buy the story, but didn't really care to have them try to fix it. Two weeks after work was finished, we had to have them back to fix an outlet that wasn't working properly. Now we are having trouble with the commode drain in the upstairs bathroom. We will hire someone else to work on it. Oh, and in the bathroom construction, there are nails sticking through the ceiling to the storage loft above the bathroom. There are finishing nails sticking out of the trim work around the outside of the bathroom. We will not have these people back again. We paid way too much money for this kind of inferior work.

It went poorly even after they replaced the control board the problem still occoured. In which my furnace would cycle on but would not ingnite. I soon after replaced my thermostat and have not had one problem since. I do not recomend these people to work on or in anybodys house. They seems that they just want to rip you off the first chance they get. I spent over $1,000 dollars and they never fixed the problem. They should change their name to H-Jacks rip off Heating and Plumbing. Don't ever call these people unless you like p****** away money.

They weren’t successful. They were the first company that I had called and I will not call them again. They did not fix the root of the issue and overcharged for the services. I called them a number of times. I spent $200 the first time, $500 the second time and $200 the third. They were professional when they were on the site but their costs were high and they didn’t give me any information about the root of the issue, they just explained that they would have to keep coming back to do the same service unless I hired them to completely redo my drainage system which would be approximately $9000.
Description of Work: They drained a basement drain.

The service was performed quickly and efficiently. However it took 5 cancelled appointments to get the determination that I needed the trap installed. I would have gone with another company but Jim apologized every time I called him about missed appointments and he seemed sincere. When he finally did get here to scope the drain, he assured us it was an easy fix and that somebody would be here on Monday. He knew before he came and when he was blowing us off that we were leaving town the following Friday. His delays set back flooring work by a full week. Monday arrived and a different guy and his helper arrived on time. They got right to work and were done in 45 minutes. He went out to prepare the bill, brought it in, and handed it to me -- $306 for a 45 minute job!!! I was shocked and more than a little freaked out. I immediately asked why it was so high for a forty-five minute job and what was the hourly rate? He responded by saying that there was "2 hours drive time". I asked where he drove from, he said Jamestown. (Jamestown is a 35 minute drive at best) I informed him that I called a Fredonia number and expected a Fredonia plumber and was never informed that I had to pay "drive time" and I certainly wasn't paying for two hours. I asked to talk to his boss. He said his boss was Jim, the same guy that blew us off for 5 days on scoping the drain. I called the number for Jim, no answer. I called the same Fredonia number I had called to arrange the original appt. I explained the situation. The woman on the phone said Jim would call me back. He did, and when I pressed him about why the charge was so high, he said it was not an hourly job, it was their standard flat rate charge. I told him his employee had stated I was paying for two hours drive time. Jim said that is not true, that I was being charged a standard flat rate for the job. I asked to see proof in print this was the standard pricing. He said he couldn't do that. I asked why a job less than hour should be over $300? No response. I stated I wasn't paying that much and they should take the trap out and leave. There was some more back and forth and he agreed to reduce the charge to about $150 - or more than $75 per hour, per guy. I agreed to pay that amount but I am not happy about it. I feel I should have been told about this flat rate pricing prior to the job. My bad for not getting a written estimate - but their bad for not explaining the charges before starting the work. Because he said it was an easy fix i assumed it would be a small charge. Even if this is their standard charge, I feel it is extremely over priced. Also, there is not list of charges on there website, flat rate or hourly.
