We hired DJ's as a result of a recommendation as well as them interviewing better than all the others for our project. Their knowledge of what was required, how they interpreted the architects drawings, working with our town for permits, inspections, and additional recommendations ended up with an incredibly beautiful project. All who see DJ's work in our kitchen comment that is the best remodel project they have ever seen. WE AGREE! Jerry and Vita were very responsive, sensitive and patient with us while we went through the process. They have a winning formula. They may not come in as the cheapest. But I can tell you that their work was TOP NOTCH and we will have them do all of our work moving forward.

Twice I called this company for an estimate. Once months ago, to remodel our 2nd. floor and early this week to remodel our main floor. BOTH times I left a message of what I wanted done but they NEVER called back? If a company is on ANGIE'S LIST, I would think they are looking for business? And IF for some reason they don't want your job, I would think the least they could do is call back and say something, anything? Maybe I live on the WRONG SIDE OF TOWN for these people, and my money is no good to them, who knows? I did have one contractor call back and tell me the job was to small for them, at least they called back and said so. I have no hard feelings with that company. But this DJ's, just doesn't call back? This is NOT professional, at all! Save yourself some grief, and call someone else instead! To ignore a potential customer this way is just not right, they NEED to learn the hard way. My money is good anywhere and there are PLENTY of good contractors that WILL do the job for me! DJ's will NEVER do any work for me and NEVER agan will I call them! STAY AWAY!

I chose this contractor based on Angie list reviews Contractor very rigid in when could come for estimate...not in evening ...not in early morning... no weekends. Finally agreed two weeks in advance late morning... I cancelled patients to be home...I confirmed appt day before.He called near time of appt and thanked me for confirming the appt yesterday but that he went to a job and won't be coming today. ( The office is next town from my home). I asked if he could then come later or evening today '...NO ...could he accommodate my schedule for the missed time ...NO. As such I could not see how I could do a renovation project with this type of attitude regarding a potential client's time. I suggest that business professionals and healthcare professionals who have patient/client responsibilities avoid this contractor as he appears not to value YOUR time.

I had wanted to do a complete kitchen renovation for quite some time but always backed down because I really had no idea how to get started, what I wanted or how to coordinate the project......until I was fortunate enough to meet Jerry and Vita - the principals of DJ's Home Improvement!! I have finally found my forever contractor partners!! Vita listened to my vague ideas and designed a beautiful new kitchen for me - everything I wanted and MORE!! She is an expert at understanding her client's vision and even more proficient at bringing it all to life! I would have never been able to create this kitchen without her guidance and her innate ability to envision the finished project! Vita just has so much experience with selecting appropriate products and making valuable suggestions! Jerry is totally hands-on with the construction crew and pays attention to every single detail no matter how small! The crew is absolutely amazing - they are timely, very respectful and so very helpful - they actually ran my home for me when I needed to be away.... I was truly sorry to see them depart when the project was complete as I considered them family by the end of the process! Both Jerry and Vita are the VERY best at what they do!! They CARE about everything! Vita was even kind enough to shop with me to pick out furniture for my new kitchen....NEVER before has anyone gone out of their way like that for me! I would have done this project a long time ago if I had only known just how easy it would be - having the ultimate professionals figuring everything out, planning each and every step, never taking a short-cut and always responding within minutes to any of my questions made the whole process totally stress-free with nothing whatsoever to worry about! I am excited to begin planning other projects in my home with Jerry and Vita who I now consider to be my friends FIRST....and my go-to professionals for everything else!!

We had put off this project for so very many years .We knew that it would be costly and also we never knew who would be honest and do a good job. This remodel was the primary reason I joined Angie List. In the middle of a cold snowy winter we began the demolition. Every morning Dennis and Dave would arrive promptly at 8:15 am.These highly skilled craftsmen would work ALL day long.Jerry... the company owner would always show up and was just a phone call away..MY texts and questions were ALWAYS answered promptly. Jerry and his wife Vita are the brains and beauty behind this company, They are true professionals and are proud of the work they do. You are given a binder of before and after photos... very helpful to be able to visualize what will happen. A timeline schedule along with a payment due section. They really do think of everything. Most important to me was also the three dogs and seven rescue kittens we have in our home.They respected our craziness and there was never an issue.A total plus for me. The work was done perfectly and ON TIME. I am amazed at how beautiful it looks. Will be using them for many more jobs... If you are searching for a quality job done by caring, honest, and reputable crew this is the contractor for you.No surprises just perfection.

DJ's is a top notch outfit. They make you feel like you're on HGTV from beginning to end. The process is fairly lengthy, but that's to be expected when you're dealing with someone who is in demand and wants to give you the time and attention your project deserves. From first contact to completion was around 9 months. Of which the first 2 months was waiting for the first available appointment, the last 6 weeks for the renovation, and the time in between for design and of course waiting for materials (custom cabinets take awhile). I'm sure the timeline can vary based on the time of year and the scope of work, but generally contractors that are not busy or have too many jobs at once, are cutting corners somewhere and you don't want them in your home for something important. I actually contacted DJs several years ago for a finished basement quote, but my timeline was too tight and they had to pass. That actually impressed me that they would rather turn down a job than try to squeeze it in. Hence why they were my first call when we were ready to renovate our kitchen/dining space. Jerry and Vita first met with us to discuss what we were looking for. They listened, jotted down notes throughout the meeting, took measurements and returned a few weeks later with several digital design options. We were able to then give additional feedback to further fine tune the design we liked and a few weeks after that we had a finished design. The design portion of a kitchen renovation is not easy, and paying a few hundred dollars up front for the level of detail that Vita and Jerry provide is well worth the cost and one of the reasons we went with a design/build team. Our design was a challenge because we were looking beyond the scope of our existing kitchen and wanted to remove some walls to change the space. We also had some existing pieces we wanted to have integrated into the finished product. The design they came up with fit all our needs and looked great. DJ's most likely will not be the least expensive quote you receive, but when considering value for your money, they can't be beat. They only use the finest materials and they will not cut corners. If they open your walls and something behind there doesn't look right, they will fix it. The amount of work that goes on within the walls, ceiling and floor is amazing. Every day I would ask questions and learned a ton about why things were being done a certain way and what it would mean if they skipped that step. My home is from the 1930s so as you can probably imagine, there was a good amount of work that happened behind the scenes of the finished product and yet we still stayed on budget and within the timeframe. DJ's timing is outstanding. At the start of the job you are presented with a binder that has all the materials, contact information, drawings and a schedule and timeline of what to expect each day. There was ZERO downtime. Monday-Friday for 6 weeks they were there every day. No waiting for coutertops, no waiting for cabinets....everything arrived properly spaced out and the job came together like a puzzle. The team that worked in our home each day was great and took exceptional pride in their work. They went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect, not just satisfactory. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to them on their last day of work. The finished product is fantastic. Our home is completely transformed. Jerry and Vita are not just our contractors, but I would now consider them friends. They helped make the renovation as stress free as possible, which is difficult with no kitchen and a toddler!

The entire team was great to work with. Denis and Joel are very talented workers; very detail oriented. Their work was exceptional. I really was pleased with the job they did and would highly recommend their services. They even painted a few walls and caulked my bath tub (which was not in the estimate) and did not charge extra. Expect to pay top dollar but you will not regret it for they are really the best overall contractors I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Jerry and Vita are truly genuine people. They were able to fit me into their schedule due to my circumstances. My folks also used them for installation of backsplash and oven hood in the kitchen. They were very pleased; they did an exceptional job. I consider myself to be a picky person; hard to please. Just goes to show how good this outfit is. Thanks again!

From the consultation to the finished product, Jerry and his team were extremely professional, punctual and respectable. The quality of work was OUTSTANDING. Dave and Felipe were always on time and they made sure the quality of the work was perfect. When a company has happy employees it is a company to be proud of. This company delivers on all it promises. We had several meetings before work started, a bit of a wait until it started and then an efficient execution of all the stages of the work finishing in about 5 weeks. Jerry and Vita communicate often and clearly, Jerry was at the house many days doing some of the work and supervising where needed. The workmen are very good at what they do and also very pleasant, kind, punctual and detail-oriented. The end result is a beautiful, user-friendly kitchen.

The provider was fantastic. Kept in touch all the way and even did a few things that were not on the estimate. Started on time and finished the same. The contractor actually doing the work was neat and courteous. Room came out great, will use again for next bathroom.

The owner Jerry was there from start to finish. always attentive, expert and meticulous workmanship every detail and problem resolved available for any questions immediate call backs . In my opinion I've never dealt with better service. From design to completion the result is beautiful and perfect.

From soup to nuts working with Jerry, Vita, and Denis is a top notch professional and friendly experience. You cannot go wrong working with this team. They know their business and truly take a personal interest in your home and the project. They treat your home and family like their own. They have worked on 4 houses and multiple projects at each one between my parents, brother, and myself. My husband and I would give them the highest of recommendations.

They were fantastic. They designed the basement and den. We were given a detailed rendering as to what they going to do and they in constant contact with us to make sure everything was going according to expectations. Their entire crew were true professionals as well as the owners. After the work was completed, they left the rooms in a very clean condition. I definitely would recommend this contractor to anyone who wants quality work performed on their house.

They are very reliable and they give you personal service. I don’t think they are a bargain but they are reasonably priced. Everything is explained to you in terms of what you’ll be paying and they are good about paying attention to your request. They put flooring in my den and I had some trouble with it and they contacted the manufacturer and got the manufacturer to okay them replacing the floor. I thought that was really good that they really stood behind the customer. They didn’t tell me to deal with the manufacturer, they took care of it and then they redid the floor for me. I would definitely use them again. They worked for me more than once. They also did my upstairs bathroom.

As with all the work that DJ's did for us, the work was handled flawlessly. We have a strong long-standing relationship with the proporietors, Jerry and Vita Burdi, as they have done our kitchen (which was "to the studs" job), all 3 of our bathrooms, our basement, and our master bedroom walk-in closet shelving. In all, we have spent over $150,000 in renovations with DJ's. Their team is extraordinarily qualified, meticulous on details and extremely neat, leaving your home everyday in spotless shape. Our kitchen work was submitted in application for industry construction awards, won in the gold category, and was featured in House Magazine. I think that says it all.

After months of careful research and interviewing contractors, my husband found an interview on-line that was done a few years before with our local news channel. It was Jerry discussing lead abatement and the importance of it while doing home improvements. My husband took the name of the company, researched them on-line and contacted them. Their first appointment was a few months away, but we waited. We were not disappointed. Once Jerry and Vita came into our home and really listened to our wishes and dreams for our kitchen renovation, we knew they were a unique team. We agreed readily for them to create a design for us. Once we were shown the designs that they created, it became evident that we found our design team. They walked us through the process and worked with us until our design and vision was realized and competed. They provided realistic timetables, and payment schedules. There were no hidden fees or surprises. The work was done expertly and neatly. Dust was minimal even when the wall came down and the kitchen gutted. They were not intrusive, and were very respectful and mindful of our needs, our animals and our home. Vita and Jerry are a fabulous team combining top craftsmanship with interior design. The added advantage that most companies do not have is someone like Vita. She was available to us throughout the process, and her expertise was invaluable. In addition, Jerry (and the team he employs) is a skilled craftsman. His attention to detail and the pride he and his workers have in their finished product is recognized, and seen each time we enter our dream kitchen. They made this experience, as stress-free, and even pleasant, as one could hope for.

It was a pleasure to deal with Vita and Jerry from start to finish. They visited us and asked what we had in mind. They took note of our taste and the decor in adjoining rooms. We visited their office and viewed proposed plans. Vita is so attuned to our taste that we followed their plans completely. Their work is impeccable and we have gotten nothing but rave reviews fromourvisitors.
