They came to access the situation and then came back the following day with the proper hardware, new toilet bowl, etc. I live in a pre-war building with very old plumbing, so it was important to find someone who was knowledgable with this type of flush-ometer toilet which is a specialty. I had several floods prior to this, so was very appreciative that they came so promptly and efficiently. They were prompt, courteous, neat and professional. Their price also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Miller General Contracting.
Description of Work: They accessed the problem with my toilet, replacing the seal, bowl and hardware. Also, adjusting the proper water pressure and checking the flush-ometer. Also, my bathroom sink faucets were loose and leaking, that was repaired as well.

Paul was always clear and polite on phone contacts. (In the beginning of our contacts I did not hear from him for 2 days). However, once we got going on the project, Paul was very responsive by letting me know by telephone how the work was going. I met him to inspect work and was very pIeased with his interpersonal skills and with the thoroughness of his work. Paul is professional, clear and gives what he says he will. He guaranteed his work in writing. He was also approachable and showed a willingness to help out if there was a future need. I also brought my neighbor with me when I met Paul and inspected the work. She thought I had found a winner by having someone like Paul to do the work, so thank you Angie's list!

I had a terrible experience with Miller General Contracting, the owner Paul is not someone any of you can trust. After 2 weeks of promises he comes and start on my shop. Not even looking at the proposal he starts adding cost to the work. When i told paul i already gave you the proposal why didnt you read . He kept prolonging and delaying my work for 2 weeks, i mean iv'e been paying rent. to some everything up Paul, came in and started arguing on the fist day of construction to the point where i had to tell him leave. one week later i found myself an excellent contractor to whom i paid even more money. i guess Paul M should've stayed on this job and fulfill his work. Please people, stay away from Miller General Contracting. Horrible business, you will have nightmares like i did. If you'r curious who paul is, he the one with a mustache.
Description of Work: The problem was that paul Never did anything.

The first thing you all should know is that this project, for which an agreement was never finalized, was in a commercial space, and not in a residence, and therefore does not qualify for Angie's List. Be that as it may, [member name removed] added numerous items to the proposal, insisting I do it all at no extra charge. I asked for an extra few hundred dollars to cover labor and material worth several times that amount. At this point, he became enraged and started yelling at me. I took my things and left the premises. He then called me a few times begging me to return, apologizing for losing his temper, but not offering to pay a. I thought about it, and decided against it. We had started very badly, and, given his temperament, I despaired of any improvement. To explain what he meant by "giving me the proposal": he rejected mine and had a friend with a better command of English prepare a document, which he called the proposal, adding in whatever he wanted without regard to cost, and refusing to consider as much. So, we have the customer preparing the proposal and demanding acceptance. Again, when I wouldn't accept it, he lost his temper, and I left the premises. See my email response to his entreaty for my return: Boris: I've thought and thought about what happened yesterday, and I have to rely on my intuition, considering the circumstances: 1. I clearly stated, after considering the $1200 you took off my price without discussion, that we would have to add $300 back. A fair compromise would have been $600, and anyone would have agreed to that, and all I asked for was $300. I told you this the last time we met. When I brought it up yesterday, you grew very upset, and then offered me $150, which of course I could not take seriously. 2. You changed what we had clearly discussed was adding two light fixtures that you supply, to removing and replacing all the existing fixtures, and then insist that's the way it has to be. 3. In our subsequent telephone discussion you insult my intelligence by pretending to be stupid. You are not. You're very smart, and you know exactly what you're doing, and what you're saying. You told me, and I quote, that you didn't know new fixtures had to be wired. Seriously? You do not negotiate in good faith, therefore: My intuition told me to cut my losses and get out. I was very close to agreeing to at least do the painting, but I was actually sick over this whole thing, and, again, my intuition told me to stay away from you. It's a shame. I was looking forward to the job, and working with you. The art of constructive compromise is part and parcel of doing business, and leads to win-win for everyone. Unfortunately, you regard compromise as losing, and unacceptable. Your business philosophy is I should win, you should lose. In spite of all this, I have no doubt you will be very successful in your endeavors. I wish you the best of luck.
We have not started physical work yet. Will update in the end. As of 05/18/2014, the owner Paul Melnicoff has ceased all contact with us. He promised to return our deposit several times but as of this date he has failed to do so. He currently has all of our deposit and did not perform any work on this project. We have started legal proceedings against his company to recoup or monies. He makes a lot of promises but does not keep them. Always filled with apologies but he does not fulfill his promises. All we wanted back was our deposit minus cost of architectural drawings and prefab drawings. Will never work with this contractor again. Be very careful. Contractor also has a BBB complaint filed by another customer.
Description of Work: This was an entire 1st floor rehab. Including house raising and new foundation.

The legal matter is ongoing. The question is credit from the down payment for the 70 hours spent in preparation for this project before the owner went in a different direction.
He did really good work and didn’t leave a mess! He does what he says he is going to do and he does it well. His prices are also reasonable.
Description of Work: He built bookcases, did electrical work, plumbing work, worked on my garbage disposal, installed bathroom mirrors and lights, put in a shower bar, and did some painting.
