Nunez Construction and Painting

The final bathroom looks outstanding and overall I feel I got an incredible deal. The team are nice, funny guys. I bought a coupon deal, and they probably ended up working several days more than they expected, since I bought custom tile and all my own fixtures... and nothing ever fits together just right in a small space. They got it done professionally and affordably. But I have to write a slightly mixed response. There wasn't 100% attention to detail toward the completion of my project. Seemed like the supervisors had moved on (but I wasn't there to supervise either, which may have avoided it). In the end I had to spackle a hole left open, and frankly a few of the cut tiles have rough edges. Of course, I know what I paid. If you're looking for really great-looking work done, these guys are definitely over-acheivers at their price. If you're a total perfectionist and don't want to get your hands dirty, you can probably go find somebody to charge you twice as much.

We had water spots in the ceiling. I through the root cause was a leak in the roof but Efren?s team took the time to find the true root cause, which were two bad radiator values. Thank you

A great experience. Ephraim and his men showed up exactly on time and ready to work, and were careful to ask as many questions as they could about the job. They even attended to some details I had forgotten to talk to them about. And Ephraim offered to paint more than I had anticipated; he said they'd be able to do two rooms rather than just the one I was expected. The quality of the paint job is excellent, and I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist about these things. I'd definitely recommend them to others.

We found Nunez Construction on Angie's List. I invited 4 different companies to give us a quote for all the work we want to be done in our new home that we just purchased. We lived in a condo for years in the Upper East Side and Queens for years and it was pretty nerve-wracking to be a home owner for the first time so it is important to us that we find someone we trust and someone who is going to be very patient to answer and explain every construction process to us, willing to work with our schedule and a deadline, make changes in case we want something changed along the way and above all, TRUST TRUST TRUST and CLEANLINESS after a days work. We initially gave Efren a small job to start with just so we can get a feel of how his men work. I asked him to refinish our wood flooring on the 2nd floor of our colonial house in Whitestone, NY. His quote was $2250.00 for 3 bedrooms, walkway and stairs. It went well so I ended up awarding him other major work to be done in the house for the next 2 1/2 months. We liked his work and his men so much that we ended up spending a almost $62,000 in renovation. As much as i want to acknowledge all his men, 2 were exceptionally stand outs and that would be Efren's foreman, Eric and his right hand, Pavell. Both showed extra ordinary skill in their craft and expertise, passion and professionalism. All workers came on time every morning, at times way too early for me. Hahaha! I also never saw the entire crew waste time. They were ALWAYS working and ALWAYS at a fast mode. It felt like Efren had a remote control on his hand and put them all in "fast forward" all the time,most especially Pavell. Every day, my husband and I would pop in and do a surprise visit at odd times to check their work, and NOT one time did we ever caught them NOT working at all. If you noticed, my review for Nunez Construction was not immediately posted on Angie's list after the job was completed and there is a big reason why I delayed it for months. I was waiting for any problems that they did work on that may arise along the way --- And you know what, there was nothing! And if there was, there were, all I did was call Nunez and he rectified the problem right away. The best complement I could ever give Nunez Construction besides their exceptional work that they do in any type of construction work you may need is TRUST TRUST TRUST and CLEANLINESS. Nothing was stolen or taken away from us and they leave the house as if they did not do any work at all after a day's work. I remember the very last work day the entire crew worked here, my husband and i were a bit saddened as we got so close to them and felt like we built a genuine friendship to all of them, As promised Efren delivered, he had one worker in charge and all he did was clean, clean and clean. He made sure the house was spotless and it felt like a showroom. It was so clean, so shiny, so fresh, so new... I have so many more good things to say about Efren and his crew, but I'd like to be honest to other Angie's list members that I would probably not recommend his wood floor guy. I did not connect with him at all and whenever he came to work here, he had a NOT so pleasant attitude with me and my husband. And plus he came back here a few times to re-do spots he missed especially on the stairs. He is NOT as thorough as the rest of the other guys. The wood floor guy, missed many spots that were very obvious which I thought was so poor on his part- which at times made me assume his lazy or he doesn't like what he's doing. Of course, I told ever reliable, adorable, easy going, humble, Efren the problem I was having with him and he made sure to get this guy back to our house to fix the problem which I'm very thankful for, but the guy made a lot of excuses which I thought a lot of it are bogus excuses...It came to a point where I felt like I did not want to complain anymore to Efren as it was so uncomfortable working with with this wood floor guy. Bottom line, the attitude problem of this wood floor guy has to go! In spite of minor challenges with the wood floor guy, to sum it all we were still very happy with the end result of our entire first floor of our house and 2nd floor, we decided to have Efren do our basement, attic and outside work in the future as well. I would still give him an "A" rating as there were many many many good things Efren and his other workers did for us that we liked. The "wood guy issue" was just a hiccup along the way. And yes, I would highly recommend Nunez Construction to my friends, family and of course to Angie's List members. They are the best of the best!

We originally contacted Mr. Nunez in October 2014 regarding renovation and repair work on an elderly relatives home. After a few stalls due to illness, we were finally ready to move forward in February of 2015. We started with the replacement of old windows and rear door frame on the ground floor. The results were even better than expected and we decided to move forward with the next phase of the project which was painting and repairing the interior walls of the home, sanding and polyurethane one of the bedroom floors and also replace another window. Mr. Nunez and his staff were pleasant, accommodating and professional. They arrived on time and always cleaned up at the end of the day, not to mention that debris was removed at the end of the job. We are extremely pleased with all work that has been done so far and have scheduled the next phase of repairs to begin at the end of this month. I will follow up with a review upon completion.

He was very very informative and helpful and told me what I needed to do this get the water under control. He was just dynamite! When I asked him what I owed him; he said nothing, he was just giving me information.

The painters came around 9am and worked until 6pm. More workers were available so the job was completed ahead of schedule. They were courteous and careful not to create a mess when bringing equipment in and out of building and halls. They even recaulked the bathtub without additional expense. The electrician was honest about which light fixtures could be repaired and which needed replacement. I trust all of Mr. Nunez' workmen in our building (it's a 3 family house). We have hired them for several jobs and now consider them the go-to company for all work in all of the apartments.

They call at 5:43 pm to cancelled our 5:30 pm appointment for 1/16/2015 and re-schedule it for the following Monday at 3:30 pm, at which they did not show up and not even call; if this is the way they do business I am glad I did not waste my time with this company.

He was very polite, and professional. We really appreciated the fact that he was able to come out the day after we initially contacted him, and that he was on time/early for the scheduled appointment. Additionally we had to reschedule once and he was very understanding and polite about that as well.

Generally good results and where there were problems, they were dealt with immediately.

The job was done in a timely very professional manner. My wife was at home while they were doing the work and she felt very comfortable and respected. The concrete around the house was cut and new concrete was put in to fix the leaking problem. It now looks very neat and water is no longer leaking inside.

I would like to recommend Nunez Construction to anyone who needs a top quality construction crew. They did a fanatic job on our home with re-plastering, painting, molding/trim, and tile work. Mr. Nunez established an estimate and timeline upfront and they delivered on time and on budget. The team was very respectful and took the time to point out additional details we didn?t think about. Neatness is the key to there success and is another area that they display extreme care for the success of this project.

Mr. Nunez conforms to a high standard of excellence. This is the second job I've given him. He gave me NO Argument about getting the permits I needed. He sticks to his schedule and ensures that the work gets done quickly and very well. This job took longer than I had anticipated - especially the painting - but I believe it was because my small hallway and bathrooms limited the number of workers who could actually be productive within the space. Also, with all the shelving, cupboard doors and trim there was a lot of fine detail to attend to. The foreman and the workers are all polite and careful with your home. Nunez Construction makes it a point to clean up very well at the end of each day, including damp mopping the floors on their way out. I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend Mr. Nunez and his foreman, Eric!

It was good work. If i had more time and money i would have gotten them for another day. Some details were missed but i had no more time to have them come back and address the small missed areas.

Mr. Nunez and his employees were very punctual and they completed the job on time. He and his employees were very curteous and professional. I would certainly use this company again.

Nunez was very professional and very prompt in his responses to me. He came to look at the job the very evening after I made initial contact through Angie's List, and we were able to schedule for just a few days later. We confirmed the evening before, and on the scheduled date, two professional painters arrived at my home early and ready to work. We went through a few simple instructions on colors and furniture movement, and I left to work. My family members were in and out throughout the day to check and make sure they didn't need anything, but they were very self-sufficient. By the time we got home, the job was done. Everything was nice and clean and the furniture was back in place including my wall-mounted television (properly hooked up and working). There was one minor area on the wall that needed to be smoothed out and was somehow missed, but I called Nunez, and he came to take a look. A couple of days later, someone came and fixed it, no problem! I am happy with their work, cleanliness and professionalism. I will probably use them again for other areas of the house.

We used Nunez Construction to remodel our basement and kitchen in February 2014 when we first moved into our home, and had such a great experience that when it came time for a bunch of smaller jobs we needed done, we called them first! Just like the last time, Efron came to see the work we needed done, and gave us a very reasonable quote that included materials - even the attic ladder and ceiling fan we wanted. His crew arrived promptly the day we had agreed on, and put down canvas all over the place to protect our floors, which we appreciated. The work took two days, and they cleaned up meticulously before leaving each day. Eric once again was the crew leader, and we knew from experience that he would make sure all the work was done properly, carefully, and to our satisfaction! We just can't say enough about the quality of their work and their professionalism - and very reasonable prices. We are struggling financially so price is definitely a factor - but you'd never know it from the level of detail in their work. They always go above and beyond our expectations, and we always feel that we get much more than we paid for. We have used other companies for siding and roof work - because we didn't know Efron could do siding and roof work -and although not a disaster, they didn't come close to the level of workmanship and customer service that Nunez Construction offers. The lesson we have learned is to CALL NUNEZ CONSTRUCTION FIRST! Because we know in the end the work will be beyond our expectations, without breaking the bank. Thank you Nunez Construction!!! When we're ready to do our bathroom remodel - you will be our first call for sure!!!!

The service went very well. The painters arrived on time. A description of the job given. The painters proceeded to do their work. They were very quiet and polite. after the completion of the job, I was asked to inspect the job. I did, the rooms looked beautiful. the painters cleaned up after themselves. I was very impress.

Mr. Nunez was efficient and professional from my first message to him to the job's completion. The crew of 6 workers arrived on time and immediately started providing a clean working area. They each knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing and completed the bulk of the work in 3 hours. One man was left behind to dry the area requiring painting and the others returned to complete the job a few hours later. The job was done neatly, efficiently and correctly. Mr. Nunez and his crew will always be welcomed back should I have work to be done in my house.

They did a great job. Scheduling was really easy. They left things clean and didn't leave paint anywhere it shouldn't have been.

The house has had a leaking problem for who knows how long now. The last contractor we hired charged a good amount of money to essentially just patch holes. The issue here is that it didn't fix the problem. In fact, things actually got worse. We started looking for another contractor to take a look. But again, they were too focused on fixing holes and getting money upfront, as opposed to diagnosing the issue. Thankfully, we found Nunez Construction. From the first point of contact, I felt this would go well. Punctuality, openness, attention to detail, communication, and general professionalism is what I expect from anyone running a business. Nunez has these in spades. In terms of getting job details, they took their time in going through each and everything we pointed out before committing to anything. When the root issue was found, they showed it to me, described what was happening, and what the next course of action. This is for every aspect of what we had issues with, from the overall state of the roof, to the water drain pipe that went through our house, to the leaks in our bathroom, and all the water damaged walls and ceilings. This in itself took a few days, which I appreciated since they wanted to get this right the first time through. The job itself spanned from Friday to Tuesday (including Labor Day!), just as they said it would be, which tells me they have a good grasp on what they're doing. During the job, they were very good about showing me the before, during, and after of all the things they were doing, as well as explaining exactly how they were fixing it and why it was done that way. Thanks to them, I've gone up on the roof, stuck my head inside the walls of my house, and learned a few things about maintenance. As I said, I fully appreciate openness, and there was no hesitation from their side in doing exactly that. The workers were amazing, working hard to reach the milestones for the day. It was almost sad to see them go, because everyone was friendly and nice to be around. They were very good about leaving the home in a livable state when they weren't actively working on an area, and always cleaning up after themselves. The interesting thing about the bathroom leak is that the first people we contacted made an assumption on the problem and wanted to charge us loads of cash to essentially re-do the entire bathroom. Nunez took the more logical approach and carefully analyzed the issue. It turns out we just needed to re-seal the edges. A much less intensive job, to say the least. The balcony tiles were a great suggestion by Nunez (with no pressure to go along with it), and I thoroughly appreciated the time that was taken to carefully measure and lay down each of the tiles so that they would be level, as well as aid in draining the water out. All in all, I can't say enough about the work that was done, and how it was done. These guys showed that they were here to work WITH us. I would highly recommend Nunez Construction to anyone who's looking to get their house repaired or renovated. In fact, we are planning to work with them in all phases of our home renovation for the next few years.

I used the Nunez construction for the forth time and will use again for any small or big home improvement jobs.

Efren and his crew achieved wonderful results. The second floor apartment was transformed from a disaster area into an appealing space. The second-floor kitchen and bath look fresh, despite the age of their cabinets and fixtures. The floors were done very nicely. The brick pointing and exterior ironwork painting were done neatly. The new overhead light fixtures, modern electric outlets, and interior doors all are well suited to the space and work well. The value thus added to the house, by very many improvements, far exceeded the price paid. Furthermore, Efren and his people were a joy to work with. He and his foreman both understood my goals and made appropriate decisions on their own (not needing constant oversight by us). His decision to re-grout the kitchen tile work (entirely on his own initiative) made a substantial improvement to the overall result. I was very happy to pay a modest $250 to cover many bits of extra work that were not on the original contract. All of his workers were skilled and conscientious, and I was very comfortable having them in my house. Overall, I can't imagine a more satisfactory experience.

At first, I had a consultation, in my home, with Mr. Nunez of Nunez Construction, Inc. I showed him the layout of the kitchen and assessed my needs and options that would create an ideal vision for the kitchen. The same procedure was followed in assessing the layout of the bathroom. A few days later, I met with Maya, a design expert, in a showroom. After talking to her, she produced a computer-generated design of the new kitchen layout with base and wall cabinets, sink and countertop, and range hood. At the showroom, I saw samples of the products and materials- types of cabinets, door style, finish, color, countertops and faucets. I reviewed both the products and materials. I finalized product selections for both the kitchen and bathroom. A week later, Mr. Nunez came by my home and verified the computer-generated design and measurements. At this point, he also presented me with a labor and products quote for my approval. We set up a work schedule. Mr. Nunez's team of installers are professional. A foreman was at the site supervising the work being done. He was very good at communicating what to expect throughout the renovation/makeover. At the end of each day, they thoroughly cleaned up. Finally, I had a walk through with the foreman to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction. The next day, Mr. Nunez came by to give the final inspection. There's a one year warranty for labor as well as products. Overall, Nunez Construction, Inc. gets an excellent rating.
