Magic Exterminating

The person who came out for an estimate was professional, thorough and on time. We decided to sign a service contract and the person who came was equally knowledgeable and thorough. 2 days later they came for the first check in - same experience.

I had them out the first time a year ago and then more recently in this past spring. They were very good. They weren't the lowest in price or the highest but they were in between.

For reasons that are not worth going over, here, I thought I had a bedbug infestation. When I went to Magic's office, I was treated professionally and with courtesy. The inspector arrived later that same day, when they said he would, and immediately proceeded to do a very thorough inspection as I observed him. As it turned out, we did not have a bedbug infestation and he very graciously gave me a quick lesson on what to look for and how to respond should the problem arise in the future. The inspection was free, no money changed hands, but I was treated at every stage of my contact with the company just as I hoped I would.

. They are horrible to deal with. The people and the company are hateful. Whoever answers the phone, the managers are nasty, arrogant and oblivious to the fact that there are other companies in the world beside them. Their service was completely subpar and ineffective. They had a childish approach to business. Their answer to preventing mice and stuff like that was to come around with steel wool that you can buy at the grocery store and shoving it into the holes in a way that you can see it from outside. I can?t imagine any one doing any job worse than what they did. I can?t imagine being so clueless that they could charge for a service like that. Run as far in the opposite direction as you can. Better off than that would be to get a pair shoes and stubbing down all the cockroaches yourself. They are completely unprofessional, hateful and ineffectual. .

They come out quarterly. I have them come out spray and put granules for the ants and other insects. We had rain and the spray and granules that they put got washed away and the insects came back to the house and they haven’t been in for the last two years. I called them and they were here in a few days. One of the guys came out and put some gel in the bathrooms and he sprayed again outside. I was having hundreds of ants in my house and in a few days I had a couple and they told me not to kill them and let them go back the nest. I have not had any ant problems until the past week and I had two more ants. Since then I have not seen any more ants in my house. Because I have the quarterly set up and it was not working when they came out again to spray I didn't have to pay them. Every time I called they were very responsive and they came right away. Their price was pretty fair. Anytime they had to do something they would tell me what the price would be. They would do something and then tell me that it would cost so much. They told me whatever it's going to cost and the price has been fair. They are pretty good with their time. They would try and accommodate you in your work schedule. I cant remember taking a day off because of them.

They were very good. They got rid of all of the pests and continually put down bait boxes and also sprayed for various bugs as well.

We've signed up for the annual service with them and they come every quarter. They are very good and professional. They schedule their appointments by sending me a post card and if it's not okay they will reschedule it for me. Their prices are reasonable too.

We have an annual contract with them. They will come inside if you are at home to check on any traps or anything else that they have provided for you. Otherwise, they check the exterior of the house. I had about 18 mice running around my house and they got rid of the problem. They are very reliable and come when they are supposed to. I have never had a problem with them.

I skipped work for a whole day just to get this done; it was a complete waste of time. Company was not apologetic in the least for their own failure to send someone over during the agreed upon time. Lesson: If you have an emergency, you cannot depend on these guys. They won't come when they tell you they will.

Thought we had bed bugs -- sth. had bitten me while we were on vacation, and it was the height of the hysteria in NY this summer, so I joined right in. Spent hours obsessing online, then joined Angie's List for a recommendation: this was the company I found in the List. I called, they sent Sean out the next day. He checked both our mattresses very carefully, found nothing, advised us to wait. Two weeks later I was still worried; Sean came back. I had found one dead something -- gave it to Sean who took it back to the office and showed it to the resident entomologist: nothing. Result: peace of mind but no poison, no treatment, no expense. I am very grateful to this company and would recommend it very highly to anyone. Phone service was also excellent: knowledgable and polite.

The technician placed mouse traps in the kitchen and pantry (where we saw mice) and our basement (where we did not see mice). They also came back a week later to check the traps and place additional traps around the exterior of the house. We were very satisfied with their work-particularly since we caught the mice and did not see any other traces of vermin after that.

Arrived later than expected but did a thorough inspection and set date when the work would be done, a few days later. This was done and appears to be of excellent quality.

I called the company for an estimate. The salesman was very professional. He answered all of our concerns i.e. would it be harmful to our dog, what type of chemicals are used, did they stand behind their work etc. I'm not sure if we got a fair price. We didn't call any other company. However, I would recommend them. On time appointment,polite,explained every step of the procedure.

The exterminator arrived a little late, but when I called to find out where he was, the person on the phone gave me a new time estimate and explained the reason for the delay. The exterminator asked me what we needed, and remembered that I have kids and pets and wanted the least toxic stuff. He did his work pleasantly and responsibly, making sure he targetted every spot we might possibly want. I was very happy with his work.

Came to home and gave free estimate for termite services. Estimate was written and services were explained very clearly. Came and installed bait stations. They couldn't complete the job the first time due to rain. There was a bit of delay in the follow up but nothing major. Worker was on time both times and very professional; cleaned up the mess from drilling. This is an environmentally friendly treatment. The contract covers a year and follow up visits so I can't comment on the ultimate success of the treatment, although there has been no sign of termite activity.

Though they did not perform a service, I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the representative that showed up. He could have easily taken me for a few hundred dollars but he didn't. He gave what I believe was his professional and honest opinion. Based on that alone I would call them again if such a service is ever needed again.

They were great. They were really professional and efficient.

Recently my 1 bedroom apartment became infested with bedbugs. I was confused about what I should do with my furniture and how I should go about treatement. I did a ton of research online and came across Magic Exterminating. Their website was very helpful and had detailed information on these annoying pests. I decided to give them a call. To my surprise their customer service staff was extremely helpful. They heard me out and encouraged me not to get rid of anything. This isn't something I wanted to speak to my friends about so I asked all of my questions. They heard me out and scheduled someone at my home immediately. Within a matter of just a few days someone had came to my home, told me how to prep, and scheduled an exterminator to finally come in and get rid of these horrible bedbugs. It's been a few weeks, and for the first time in a long time I can finally sleep at night. Bedbugs are very traumatic and that is why I'd suggest that anyone with bedbugs in their home please call an exterminator rather than the do it yourself remedies. Magic's technicians were extremelly thorough and I would definately consider them again in the future.

While they did not get rid of our ants for us, after the 30 day period of the guarantee was up, they promptly refunded our money. Because they showed up on time and returned every phone call promptly and kindly, and because they were honorable about refunding our money when those ants were being too stubborn to give up their home in 30 days, I would try Magic Exterminating again.

Their service was fairly effective. The guy who did the job was professional and seemed to know his business well. The problem was after they came. First, they were late for a follow up visit and caused great inconvenience as a result. A rep did apologize and then set up a new visit, for which they were on time. The 1st two visits were included (a little pricey, I might add), so I needed them to come again on an 'as-needed' basis, since there were still a few roaches around. I just needed a quote. Well, since they're really big, I got transferred on the phone a couple of times and even put on hold. Finally, I was told the guy who did my house had to call me. Well, I never got the call. All this just for a simple quote. I actually gave them another chance and called again. Same thing, only this time after being put on hold and my hanging up, a guy does call me back. He tells me they don't do one-time visits. I have to pay for 'quarterly' visits, I guess three months at a time. Listen, I understand that with roaches one visit is usually not enough and that you have to do the visits in a timely fasion, i.e. once a month, etc. But I want to be able to make that decision myself and see the results as I go along and pay one month at a time. Is that so hard? The other big companies that do this work in this area were similar (and equally pricey). Finally, I decided to call some of the smaller guys and voila, no problem. And I get through to someone or simply leave a message, not this departmental, corporate non-sense. Just come, spray my house, don't waste my time, charge a fair price so that I can afford to have you back as many times as I deem fit, and leave. That's all I ask.

They were very efficient, professional, and polite. I specified that I do not want any poison to kill the rats, so they put traps inside the house and put the poison in the backyard. They wanted to sell me a service contract and I told them that I do not want to do that. I will see if that is really necessary and then take up a contract if needed. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They were thorough and seemed to be very professional. They seem to be a huge organization. It?s been so good so far. I think they are expensive. I will definitely use them in the future if needed.

The guy who came out was very nice and very thorough. He was a little late but he called to let me know that he was running late. The service seemed pretty good.

They let me send the bugs for free for their entomologist to tell me what they were. He said that it was just a winged ant and not a termite; so I could just spray it and didn?t need a professional. Everyone else whom I called tried to charge me a lot of money. This guy was very nice and I didn?t feel pressured. He helped me for free and I would totally use them in the future. Everything about them was fantastic even though the let me know that I didn?t actually have to hire an exterminator.
