I am waiting for a response from the company

We purchased two windows from another company and we are not happy with them so I asked my contractor to look into crystal windows. I love my new Crystal vinyl windows and it has really impressed us. They are attractive and very easy to maintain. Even the contractor was full of praises when he unwrapped the windows. He was impressed by the "study feel" of the windows. The best part of the entire experience was the price! The windows are reasonably priced!

He was responsible and the work was okay, but I have to find out when the winter comes to see if he has done a good job, but the quality of the windows seems good. I had someone look at them and they said they were good. I think his prices might be a little high. Regarding quality, I cannot say as it seems to be good quality but I am not sure about it.

I hate these windows. They are colder and more drafty than the old windows we left in the front. I would not recommend these windows for a house. They are fine for an overheated apartment building but horrible for a house. I will have to replace them as soon as I can afford to.

The windows were installed as part of a remodel and were consequently installed by a third party contractor. After two months we had a problem with one of the windows, which was subsequently corrected by the contractor. In MARCH 2012, we had a problem with another window. After multiple attempts to contact Crystal repair department , leaving detailed messages each time, we had to have the original contractor call the Crystal salesman to get someone to contact us. In APRIL 2012, we had a problem with yet another window. We once again left multiple messages and once again had to have our contractor intercede on our behalf. In DECEMBER 2013 had problems with yet a fourth window. I have been contacting Crystal Windows since the beginning of December & have left numerous messages. I again called today but was unable to leave a message because the mailbox was full !! I am so frustrated with this company, I would have all the windows replaced again if I could afford it. Each time we have had a window fixed, it has been for a different problem. The first time it was a window sash, the second window had the window shoe fall out, whatever that means, the third time it was a "DH Coil Balance" issue , and this time the Lift Plate came right off in our hands. I should add that my husband & I are over 60, so you can understand that the windows are not being misused or abused. Crystal Windows intimates that they are "award winning" and they most certainly are. However it appears that the last award they won was in 2005. I don't know what happened since then but now the only awards I would give them is an award for the WORST WINDOWS EVER, for the WORST SERVICE and for the LEAST RESPONSIVE SERVICE STAFF. After writing this review, and sending an emal to Crystal Windows, I was contacted by a nice polite & professional young man in the Customer Service Dept. He apologized for the delay & advised that Crystal was short staffed but were now hiring new people to assist with the back log. He also advised that our windows were past the 1 year manufacturers warranty period and I would need to pay a service charge of $100 per hour, plus tax. Alternatively we could remove the window and bring it to their factory where they would fix it for free. Considering the outside temps are running between 0 and 20 *F, that's not an option until spring. Looks like we will need to invest in some good vinyl glue & fix it ourselves. If someone had just called us back after our first message, I probably wouldn't even have left this review. LATEST UPDATE - 4/12/2014. First really nice day in Queens, NY. Went to open the windows nice & wide, but the window lock on the bedroom window will not stay unlocked. This lock allows you to open the window about 3 inches, but you need to push it in (unlock) if you want the window opened more than that. Now, if I want to let the "sun shine in" I need to tape the darn thing down. I REALLY REALLY HATE THESE WINDOWS>>>

The workers from Crystal Window & Door System were friendly and professional, they cleaned-up well. The windows were satisfactory, but not ideal.

This company is terrible in my opinion. I called the receptionist who said they no longer manufacture this particular type of window handles. She then retracted this, so the company came to my home, and then stated they no longer manufacture these window handles and can't help. They also charged me $20 for the visit. In my opinion, you should always maintain your product. So obviously this company had problems with all the windows that had these handles, and therefore stopped production. These windows are not very old and many of my windows are having the same issue. I only gained traction with this company when I threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau. Ultimately, however, they did nothing to resolve the issue and stand by their product. In addition, a separate double-pane window they installed in my home has fogged over with condensation on the inside, which cannot be addressed.

I FEEL THAT THIS COMPANY DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB. EVERYTIME I USE THEM THEY ARE RESPONSIVE AND PUNCTUAL. THE PRICE IS REASONABLE AND I CAN RELY ON THEM TO DO A GOOD JOB WITH EVERYTHING.

THIS IS A VERY EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. IT TOOK THIS COMPANY LESS THAN ONE WEEK TO INSTALL FORTY WINDOWS. THE WINDOWS LOOKED SO PRETTY THAT THEY GLEAMED OFF THE DARK STREETS OF NEW YORK.

OVERALL I HAVE HAD A FAIR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. THE NEW WINDOWS KEEP THE HOUSE WARMER BUT THE BAY WINDOW HAS BEEN LEAKING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THEM OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT I HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE AS OF YET.
