I have had a bad experience with them. I was with them for 6 years and everything went well. Then a ring was stolen from my house by one of the Merry Maid people. I didn't discover till about 3 or 4 months. I had a lengthy investigation and the police followed up on it. It was an easily distinguishable ring. Finally the Merry Maid manager at the local location said that he could give me an estimate of what the ring would cost. He was willing to reimburse me but he couldn't because it was above $1000, so he sent me to the corporate office. While there, the person I dealt with was unable to help me. Eventually I went to my insurance company which reimbursed me a portion of that. My experience with them for 6 years was wonderful but that breach of faith spoilt everything. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We hired Merry Maids in August. We had just moved to the area and didn't have anyone local to give us personal recommendations. While they were very nice to deal with on the phone, the actual cleaning wasn't very good. We found that getting different cleaners every week was like having to retrain a new cleaner all the time. They have a notebook that gives detailed information about what you personally would like done at your house, but we found that the teams that came often never looked at it. I would call the office almost every week to let them know what was missed and they would always assure me it would be taken care of the next time. Sometimes it would, but most times it wouldn't. The final straw was when they came to clean on a Friday of a weekend we were away. When I came back home, my house wasn't locked up properly which means it sat that way all weekend. I have cancelled this service.

Awful, I would not recommend them
Description of Work: We have been using Merry Maids for over a year and the services has been consistently bad getting worse every time. We fired them today. Not worth the money they charge, they don't move anything and always find things not done after services performed

At merrymaids we have several means of communicating with our customers, and we let them know in our presentation that they need to communicate any issues as soon as possible so we can return and fix them. Over the course of time this customer recieved mumerous surveys via email to complete but did not complete any. Every day before their cleaning we do a confirmation call to remind them of the cleaning, often asking if there are any issues, no complaints other than if we made personell changes which usually occur because of illness. In point of fact they had the same cleaner over 85% fo the time who also asked them if there was anything special or different that they wanted done. We cannot operate in a vacuum. We need responses from our customer because we are NOT perfect. To see that we apparently failed so badly (in every category) and not recieve feedback from the customer seems gratuitous at best, especially since we did not recieve honest feed back on the reason for leaving. We now have no idea what we could have improved.

Have been using Merry Maids for pass 6 months, The first big clean was great...has gone down hill ever since. You don't always get the same person so it luck of the draw who you get. Well today I got a really Loser. So Much dust on my TV that I could write dust me in it and read for across the room. My counter top look clean but feel gross. bathroom wall next to toilet has grossness all still there never touch. ceiling of shower not clean. I join Angie list to look for new service.'
Description of Work: House clean??? They don't do inside stove, frig, or closet will charge you $50 for wiping inside of frig out. DON'T be fooled by are not all they are crack up to be

With every sale we go through a thorough presentation of what our cleaning entails and strive to be as accurate as possible. Since we are not perfect, we offer to guarantee our work by offering to return and redo any work that is unsatisfactory (this allows the person making the mistakes to understand what they have missed). We strive to respond to customers as quickly as possible when they have concerns. Sometimes personell changes are requested by the customer and this can lead to inconsistency in several areas including: quality, scheduling and general overall performance.

They were responsive and came over to look at the house and deliver a quote in a timely manner. The house is quite large (about 4000 sf) but I was still very surprised at how high the price was. However, they said they could clean the Saturday before the movers came to deliver our belongings so I went ahead and scheduled the clean. I had plans with my kids that weekend so it was worth paying the money not to have to spend the weekend cleaning it all myself. Also, I thought this company had a solid reputation and that I was paying for guaranteed quality. On the day of service 2 young girls arrived on time and were very polite. They got straight to work and I stayed out of their way. They were at the house for about 4 hours so I felt sure everything had been thoroughly cleaned. One of them took me through the house before they left. She swung the doors of the rooms open and closed very quickly so I only got a very brief look at the work, not a good enough look to gauge the quality. Then they left. After they had gone I got a closer look; there were so many issues. The cabinets hadn't been touched (a service that I was quoted and had paid for); there was still dirt and debris (hair, food remnants) from the previous owner). The appliances were awful - stainless steel was streaky and insides were not cleaned. The refrigerator was very superficially wiped and still had an odor to it (I filled an entire 13 gallon bag of disinfectant wipes cleaning it myself that afternoon). There were still cobwebs around the kitchen cabinets and light fixtures (I had pointed these out and was told they would be taken care of). The hardwood in the hallway upstairs wasn't touched - I could still see beverage spills that the previous owner had left behind. The window sills weren't touched either - I had specifically pointed out one where the previous owner's dog slept that had doggie drool on it - I cleaned that myself. The baseboards were also still very dirty. Could go on but I'm sure this is enough detail. In short, I didn't get what I paid for: the quality of what was cleaned was bad and many of the things I paid to have cleaned weren't touched. The bathrooms were the only areas that I didn't really have any complaints about. I called immediately but the office was closed. I also called the cell of the lady who had given me the quote and left a message. I then cancelled my plans with my kids and set about cleaning the place myself. The lady called me back and said they would get people out to reclean the following week. That wouldn't work because the movers were coming with our furniture that Monday, so I requested a refund based on the fact that I did not receive the services I paid for. I was told their policy was not to issue refunds but to fix the issues; I explained again that this wasn't an option - the house had to be clean before our furniture was delivered and that I had no choice but to clean the place myself that weekend. I was promised a follow-up call Monday. I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning it all myself; many areas that were on the quote hadn't even been touched. On Monday I received a call challenging the issues that I had brought up; the girls said they did a good job! So I emailed them the pictures that I had taken. I then received another call apologizing but the girls stood firm on them having done a good job of the refrigerator- that was the worst part and I had pictures to prove it. They really didn't want to give me a full refund but offered a 50% refund and a free clean once we had settled into the house. I accepted that (even though 50% of the original price was still way too expensive for the service and poor quality that I received). I emailed them a couple of times a month or 2 later to set up the clean and didn't receive a response. I wish I had held out for the full refund.
Description of Work: Requested a thorough move-in clean to include the insides and outsides of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers, appliances and steam cleaning of the hardwood and tiled floors.

As was correctly stated, we offered to reclean the house entirely but were told that was not possible. We then issued a credit of 50% to the customer AND an offer to clean the house after they were settled. To date I no of no attempts to reschedule a cleaning but stand by our offer to clean the home for free and can be contacted at the numbers listed.

They were very good. They deep cleaned 2 bedrooms and the living room. They washed the floors of the third bedroom and did the kitchen and bathroom. They cleaned the floors, the counters in the kitchen, cleaned the hallway and washed all the windows. I was not available when they did the work, but I thought they did a good job. They were very helpful over the phone and did their best to accommodate me. They did not have an appointment when I needed it, but they had an appointment for the next day so I went ahead and took that.
Description of Work: I used Merry Maids in December for house cleaning.
