Description of Work: There was a very small leak in air conditioning system that was installed by another contractor 5 years ago. There was no coolant left! Scott from D. Silvestri, Inc. evaluated the system by pressurizing it. He isolated the leak to external portion of the system, replaced hi pressure switch and added new coolant as well as a dye. Dye was included to easily identify any leak in the future, if such appeared. Overall, very professional job.

Description of Work: I used D Silvestri Sons Inc. for Heating & A/C services. We have been doing business for probably 13 years.

Description of Work: Provider met with us once. Thereafter, he never returned phone calls to provide service. No money was given. Very unreliable and unprofessional.

Description of Work: The circuit breaker for the outside compressor of my 11 year old TRANE air conditioner tripped and would not reset. As this was the weekend, I did not want to place an "emergency" call as the weather had cooled down quite a bit. On Monday morning, I contacted D. Silvestri and explained the situation. The dispatcher took all my information, explained their rates, told me they would be at my house later that day and told me she would call back in a few hours to verify when their service tech would be onsite. The dispatcher was very friendly and very pleasant to deal with. Within four hours I received a call that the service tech would be at my house within 30 minutes. Sure enough, the service tech arrived within 20 minutes. I explained the situation to him (Scott) and he immediately got to work diagnosing the problem. In a matter of minutes, Scott determined that mice/chipmunks has eaten the insulation on internal wiring and the wiring shorted to ground. Scott explained there was several inches of acorns, dead mice, organic matter, etc on the bottom of the AC frame that he needed to clean out to allow him to examine for additional damage. He asked if he could use my hose to wash out the "mess" at the bottom of the AC unit. Scott was quite the "trooper" as his body was actually inside the A/C unit scooping the "mess" out of the unit. He was battling an awful smell and a very large garter snake that took up residence in the unit! Once the cleaning and additional troubleshooting was completed, Scott explained to me the "health" of my unit and the parts that needed to be replaced. He took the time to explain what was the cause of the A/C failure, the rational of why he was replacing each part and insured me that once the parts were replaced that the unit had a number of years of service left in it. Scott was very friendly, knowledgeable, reassuring and had the knack to explain a complex technical issue to my "level." Scott answered all questions I had, did not give vague answers and ensured I understood everything he told me. Scott gave me an estimate of what the total cost would run, he told me he would order the parts and reassured me that he would return and complete the repair with the new parts before a pending "hot spell" arrived. Early the next morning, Scott called to tell me the parts were on order and he would contact me once the parts arrived at the shop. Scott again ensured me he would have my unit up and running before a pending "hot spell." As the weather was cool, I told Scott I was in no hurry at that time. Once the parts arrived, I received a call from the D.Silvestri dispatcher and Scott was onsite within the hour. Scott installed all the parts and started/tested the outside unit. He then went up in my attic to examine/test/clean the attic air handler unit. Again......what a trooper......it had to be 120+ degrees up there!!! Scott ensured everything was running perfect before he left.......excellent job!!!!!! His boss should know he has a WONDERFUL employee!!

Description of Work: If you need any electrical, A/C or heating work done I would highly recommend D Silvestri Sons in Fishkill, NY.........Besides all the items rated above, during the recent 95+ heatwave, when my elderly mother's central A/C failed, they provided unusually caring, timely, and professional service...........They also explored all solution options and communicated them clearly and in a timely manner, and displayed a thorough and detailed work ethic that gets the job done correctly ...........
