Description of Work: I contacted Tony because of a slate roof on on house I was purchasing. He came recommended by the selling realtor who uses him for her own roof. I'd had the home inspected and needed a qualified roofing contractor to come out per the inspector's notes. It was winter and there was ice on the roof, but even so, Tony gave me an estimate for a section of rubber roof in the back which was around $1200. Negotiations commenced and the selling realtor insisted there was no issue with the roof. She apparently called Tony, who called me early one morning to tell me he based his estimate on what I had told him, and that if I'd told him anything incorrectly, she was probably right. I did not like his lack of regard for his own estimate and told him so. I reminded him he is the qualified professional, reminded him that "what I had told him" was on the paperwork from the building inspector. He stood by his estimate then, but not until after we all went back to the house to look again. I bought the house and a month later had water pour in from the opposite side of the roof that he had not even mentioned might be an issue. I brought him back, along with 2 other roofing contractors, to give me a new estimate. Both of the other 2 roofers told me the rubber roof was installed so badly that water had been leaking underneath for years and had rotted entire boards away. I would need the rubber roof entirely replaced, as well as the first 3 or 4 rows of slate in order to do so properly. Their quotes were both around $6500. Tony said something similar, mentioned he wanted to use an inferior rubber roof product (mulehide), and then estimated a total cost of over $10,000. I decided not to go with him for the major work because I didn't trust him. Every resource i checked was between EPDM or torch-down rubber roofs. He didn't want to go with either. I had decided to remove the slate and the roofer I went with had wanted to simply knock it off, destroying a majority of it. I thought I might use Tony in conjunction with the roofer I selected, only to remove the slate so I could keep it and use it. He told me he would do so for $500. I had everything set up with the other roofer, and then Tony said "We're gonna take a few hundred slate, by the way. That's fine with you, right?" to which I responded "I'm paying you to take it off so I can keep it. It was never part of the deal for you to keep any of it. It's on the house I bought." I went on to tell him I did not appreciate his tactics to confuse and manipulate me throughout the purchase, and I did not appreciate how he initially gave me an estimate which multiplied 10X over after I purchased the house. I did so based on the work I was expecting, and this guy seemed to have no idea what he was doing when it came to anything other than slate. Even so, he had horrible communication skills. He speaks at an unnatural volume and I felt he was screwing me around. I do not trust him and I would not recommend him for work. Over-priced, poor guarantees, and he doesn't even stand behind his own estimates. I found out the hard way. Avoid him.

He is very reasonable and doesn’t over charge. He is also very thorough and some times he doesn’t get back to me but I overlook that since when he says he’ll come he’ll come but he doesn’t always.
Description of Work: I used Tony Lombardi for roofing and he has been doing work for me for a number of years. He has done some other things like painting and Lim removal. He did a number of things and he replaced a whole portion of roof just he and his two sons.
