My only complaint is that it took over a week for the new battery to come in. It was not an unusual item so I was surprised at how long it needed to be there.

YannTech in Fayetteville, NY (what I call ‘the other Apple store’) is the best place to do Apple and Mac business. I recently had some work done there on my Mac and am very satisfied with the excellent job done at a very reasonable price, and with a fast turnaround time. Dave Yannascoli’s shop is the way to go. YannTech sells both Apple products and accessories and also performs repairs. It’s interesting to note that the Fayetteville-based Yanntech has advantages over the other major Apple dealer in Central New York, that being the Apple Store in Carousel Mall. Looking at this contrast from a real estate perspective, the relatively staid office building in Fayetteville which houses Yanntech has important advantages over the Carousel Mall Apple Store. Consider what figures to be the expensive rent paid at the mall store. Consider also the bright white lighting there throughout, the electric bill for which must be steep indeed. Of course, there’s nothing inherently wrong with shopping at the mall store, just be sure to realize that the rent and electric bill are most assuredly passed on to the consumer. These disadvantages do not exist at Dave’s store; Dave’s rates and prices are evidence of this. Consider what I think to be another strategic advantage of Yanntech that some may overlook: the distance from store to parking lot. At Yanntech, you have a relatively short jaunt from parking lot to the front desk of the shop. And parking is a cinch at Yannteck. The parking lot, in which there is plenty of free parking available, is easily accessible from the road. In contrast, at the mall, you’ll have a longer hike in any case, but especially if, for example, you’re carrying your computer in for repair to the Applestore. Also realize that at Yanntech you’ll likely deal directly with the enormously competent and experienced owner himself, Dave Yannascoli.
