 + -1 moreHe was very polite, very professional, very upfront and extremely informative. I wanted some front steps constructed up to my house and the only thing he would construct them out of was tread which was way out of my price range. So, we decided not to go with him because of the cost. He spent quite a lot of time here looking at it and sketching things out and working with me to try to figure out what would be the rise run to accommodate my issues. I would highly recommend him to anybody who has a fair amount of money to spend. The reason I gave a "B" on price is because he would not work with less expensive materials. For the materials he was going to use the price he quoted was very fair.

 + -1 moreIt was wonderful. The crews were professional and efficient. They were careful to clean up debris. I was so pleased with the job because I hadn't been able to find anyone else willing to add the extra layer needed. The owner also gave me other suggestions for less heat loss in the winter and was able to give me names of other professionals to help fulfill those suggestions. The quality of the workmanship was excellent.
Description of Work: They removed the old roof and put on a new roof, including an extra foam layer to help prevent ice buildup on my cape cod style home. They carefully removed siding and gutters to install flashing and put them back on in the same condition. They cleaned up the property after each day of construction.

 + 0 moreThe crew was professional, courteous and hardworking and Dave Lawlor, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. It has been almost 4 years, and I am still completely satisfied with the work that was done. There is not another company I would consider for this type of job. This past winter, there was a leak in our house due to the harsh cold and snow conditions and Mr. Lawlor was immediately responsive, knew exactly what needed to be done, and went out of his way to help me resolve the problem. He really knows his business and makes sure that the customer is satisfied. I would recommend Cedar Bay without hesitation.
Description of Work: Replaced our roof, including a complete tear off of our old roof and replacement of all our windows. I had used Cedar Bay construction approximately 15 years prior to this job to re-side my house in vinyl, and was very happy with their work for that job, which is why I hired them for the roof and window replacement.

 + 2 moreDave is a great guy. I recommend him highly. He is easy to work with and does a great job. He is not the cheapest guy in town but you get what you pay for. This is second job he has done for me. The last was 20 years ago and the work has held up really well. You should use him!

 + -1 moreI never actually received a quote on the job and am left to guess that the Cedar Bay simply was not interested in the job. I certainly do not blame him for not wanting to take on my job, but I would have liked the coutresy of a call thanking me for the interest and letting me know I should seek another contractor. Instead, I gave the benefit of the doubt and lost time I could have been using to find an alternate contractor.
Description of Work: The owner promptly returned my call requesting and estimate and came by a few days later as scheduled. We had a pleasant conversation and he lead me to believe he would get back to me with an estimate. That did not happen for 3 weeks so I called him twice to follow up and on the second attempt, he answered and told me to expect the estimate a day later. It has now been over a week and no call back.

 + -1 moreWindows are beautiful. Job was done by Bill and cannot say enough good things about him and the work he did. Meticulously prepared the work surfaces and cleaned up afterwards. Detail oriented...made sure there's lots of insulation and caulking as old windows did not have much of either. Trim work was excellent...much nicer looking than on older windows. Was courteous and respectful. When you find someone who cares about the work they do, you just don't want to lose them for future work....they are hard to find. Aluminum siding guys came next day and repaired around the windows and sealed everything up. Extremely happy with results and though price seemed high to me at first, they are worth every penny.
Description of Work: Replaced small octagon (awning type) bathroom window (unclad wood) that had rotted with Anderson (clad) awning window and replaced double over- sink kitchen awning windows (also unclad) with double Anderson (clad) awning windows. In both cases wood had rotted.

 + 0 moreWe loved Cedar Bay Construction. I like the fact that they are very professional and very fair. They do really good work and take pride in the their finished product. They have great customer service. The price was very, very fair. They are top notch. This was the second job we have had them do in our house and we actually have him coming back out this spring to do our bathroom. The guy that we work with, Dave, is just a great guy. There was trust. We left our door open for them, they came in everyday, did their work, and cleaned up afterwards.
Description of Work: Cedar Bay Construction had to replace all of the siding along the front of the house. They also removed 2 windows and installed 2 new windows.

Description of Work: Mr. Lawler provided a thorough written estimate that included the source of the issue with the roof. The bid was not the highest or lowest to complete the roof replacement.

Description of Work: Construction and renovation of garage included new storage (1) created attic loft space ,framed in entire left side of garage for tools,garden supplies etc) (2) framed in approx. 6x10 ft space for dog housel to include wall and ceiling framing on existing floor, insulation of 4 walls and ceiling, 1 inch rigiid insulation on floor with 3/4 inch plywood subfloor over insulation, installed 2 energy efficient doors( with windows) one indoor and one leading outside to yard ,electric light inside dog house & one yard light. A fixed (60x36) glass window was placed on the interior wall of dog house. We have a very happy dog now! . Twenty two old windows were removed, old sashes jamb liners etc.were disposed of and interior jamb area were cleared out. New "Premium Vinyl Thermo-Pane windows were installed. Exterior casing was covered by aluminum trim. The "crew" was pleasant and courteous and seemed to work very well together .Although I often asked many questions regarding how and why some things were done they were willing to give me all the details I needed to satisfy me. I enjoyed their sense of humour. The owner of the company was a super guy. He kept me informed of any changes, When new workers came he would introduce me to them so I would know who was expected on my property. He was always kind and patient. I highly recommend Cedar Bay !

 + 0 moreThis is the 4th job that they have done for me. The work, when completed is excellent. This job was to add metal edging to my roof to eliminate ice daming that I have experienced. Dave, promptly quoted the job but as it was not an emergency it was medium prriority & took some time to get it into the schedule. My only complaint is poor follow-up on confirmation of final timing.
