Forte Brick & Concrete

Could have been better. I guess it all comes down to 'you get what you pay for'. Contracted Forte to install pavers over existing patio, add two corner seat/benches, a step-down & additional new patio. Plus new front walk-way & paver borders along drive-way. The patios & walk-way came out great, but the seat/bench area was disappointing. I thought it was going to be constructed of all pavers, but due to budget he suggested it be built w/cylinder blocks & covered. (I thought w/the pavers) but they used a cement compound & gave it a "stucco" look & then painted it (I Hated that). I guess I should have been more explicit what I wanted, but again budget was main concern. My biggest issue was the cylinder block/stucco sides of bench kept leaching a white residue. I called them back about this. They did come & re-stuccco & paint, but it happened again. Another call & another return/repair, but when it happened on 3rd time, I just figured no matter how many times they come & re-stucco/repaint, this will keep happening. I was told by another masonry , that this is an inherent problem the cylinder blocks. The entire bench would have to re moved & re-done w/ all pavers. We figured he's want to charge us for the new benches, so we're just living w/it. Sad :(

Andrew from Forte Brick & Concrete returns calls promptly and after agreeing on the price and work we made an appointment to commence the project. He and his father Peter do very fine work and are clean and neat as well as doing their work with a smile. Forte Brick & Concrete removed previously used handyman caulking that was used to seal some cracks (which looked like an eyesore) and corrected the cracks to look natural and not noticeable as well as repairing newer cracks in brickwork in the same manner. Everything was done as expected and they found 2 additional cracks which we missed during the initial inspection which they also fixed pro bono. Forte Brick and Concrete are very professional and expert in their field. I would not hesitate to use their skills again should the need arise. My brick retaining walls, patio and flower box are back to looking spiffy. Thank you Andrew and Peter for your expertise and professionalism .

Andrew responded and gave me a price of $6500 to remove and replace a 13' x 25" section of my basement floor. The removal went fine but instead of the level, quality concrete that was going to be pumped into my basement, they mixed it themselves without any aggregate, just sand. This resulted in major cracking throughout the slab. Also, the pour was extremely uneven. I complained and they returned and used a grinder to open the cracks and repair. This left me with dust throughout my house and the cracks reopened within a month. Terrible work!

I have been a customer of Forte Brick and Concrete for many years. Andrew and his father Pete are very kind, extremely knowledgeable and very patient. I will never call anyone else. They originally did my fireplace. After that beautiful job, we hired them to do the cultured stone on the front of my house. Soon after, we had a paver patio done and pavers around the pool. Followed by a cultured stone retaining wall and steps. They are extremely reliable, their work is perfection and they’re also a pleasure to do business with. They are a great family business and I highly recommend them for any type of masonry work. You will not be disappointed!

After three failed attempts to Match the original color, Forte refused to return. I'm left with a disaster. Now I wlll have to spend double the amount to get the patio replaced.

Perfectly. Andrew was a pleasure to deal with. All arrangements were made over the phone and we were in complete agreement as to what was needed. They just completed the job and their attention to detail was like an artist working on a portrait. While it was only a small job they treated the job and me like we were their most important clients.

went to angies list and found 3 well rated concrete specialists to compare. 2 of the 3 responded to my request for a free estimate immediately. one wanted to tear out and dispose of my existing patio stones and lay a brand new foundation with Cambridge paving stones on the exterior. the other was Forte who said, why do the extra cost of the removal of the old , when you can just go over it with a layer of sand and whatever else they use, level as needed, then lay the Cambridge pavers. the other, name I will not mention, did not provide me with that option. they also said they would e mail me that day they were here for the estimate , pictures of previous jobs they have done with the paving stones so I could see the work they had done and how a final job would look. when they neglected to follow up on that promise, they immediately were scratched off my list. I even called the next morning of the estimate and left a message regarding I never received the pictures via e mail and they still never followed through. So Forte was my selection. Andrew C was very attentive getting back to me and just gave a very nice impression upon meeting him face to face at the time of the estimate. Having a good gut feeling as they say is very important and that's what myself and my wife had. Originally saying it might take 2 days, the job actually took only 1 day. His hard working and extremely friendly dad , Mr. forte Sr., and another helper did the job in 90 degree heat, stopping only for the many bottles of water we provided them gladly. Mr. Forte Sr did the front step sloped up concrete entrance to the patio once, but then did it over again because it was not to HIS liking! Then with the leftover cement I asked if he could fix a broken piece of walkway in the front of our home which they gladly did for us. the All that was left for us to do was spread the sand out across the patio the next day to get in between the stones. I found that to be a little frustrating and annoying, but I called Andrew and told him of my getting a little overwhelmed and stressed out that I was doing it properly and he assured me it was a basically an easy task and not one that needed perfection. Well it came out really really nice, no complaints. drainage is perfect and an unexpected big plus is we barely see any ants anymore! Make sure to mention angie's list and get that 5% discount offered and use Forte, you will not be disappointed.

Andrew was very responsive in coming for the estimate and also coming to do the job. It took 1 day. The re-pointing of the brick looks great. They also ripped out an existing patio and re-poured it. The new patio did not dry properly, and now there are variations in color and swirl patterns through out the patio. I was told to wait 30 days for the patio to cure. It is beyond 30 days and there are no changes. I have tried to contact Andrew again and on reply. Very dissappointed in his lack of response.

In a word "Fantastic" Andrew, his father Peter and brother Dan arrived on time. They were extremely neat and well organized. Exceptionally friendly and when they left it was hard to tell they were even at my house for the cleanup they did. The work they accomplished was a very difficult task in extremely hot temperatures and they never slowed down. Peter made some suggestions regarding my original layout and I am thrilled I followed his vision. Very creative idea's and allot more attractive than my idea. Its a family run business and they work hard as a family. My wife and I cannot be happier with their overall work and yes, I would not hesitate to call them again for additional work.

Andrew promptly returned my initial phone call and provided me with a very reasonable estimate a few hours after I provided him with the dimensions of the apron. After I accepted his proposed price, we met to finalize the plans. He was especially helpful when it came to picking out the pavers, as we were looking to keep the price down. He, along with his father and brother, completed the whole project in one day, and it looks fantastic. We couldn't be happier. Beyond his business practices and craftsmanship, Andrew is a true gentleman, which always goes a long way with me.

They were fantastic. We cannot use the steps until Saturday, but they look great. I would recommend them to anyone.

The company is a family business. From first call to quote to finished job was only a few days. There was great contact and the job was fantastic. It is obvious that they know their business. I would highly recommend.

The foundation repair was ok but they kept changing the price with the waterproofing. I also noticed they were not using rebar in the concrete which he only added once I pointed this out to him. They also did a sloppy job on the staircase, so overall I was not satisfied with the work.

Andrew was prompt courteous and got the job done very well. I wish all contractors were like him :
