The worst customer service. The departments do not speak to one another. The measure and manufacturing are never correct. The installation is inferior. I would strongly suggest you go elsewhere.

[Member Name Removed], I am so sorry. We work hard to ensure that our homeowners are delighted, and it's disappointing to hear when we have come up short. I apologize for any inconveniences we have caused. I will get your feedback to the team and they will look into the breakdown of communication within our departments any current outstanding issues. My apologies again.

They said the price would only be valid if we ordered immediately as we were sitting there, the minimum order would be for one window otherwise the price would go up 25 or 30%. They used extremely strong sales tactics. You have to do it right now. If you wait until tomorrow the price goes up. It was very very unpleasant nasty experience. I would give them an "F".

Had a quote recently and I don't know how anybody could justify over $18,000.00 for 5 regular sized double hung windows and two basement sliders that are approx 12 X 18 inches each. I know the original quote was close to $18,500.00 but I'm still not sure of the exact price because he showed it to me on an ipad and never sent me the follow-up email with the price quote, as he promised. I know it was close to $18,500.00. Just ridiculous. We sat there listening to a 2 hour sales pitch, my husband was busy and needed to get back to work. The windows seem very nice and high quality but I do have Andersen windows in other parts of my house that cost 1/4 of the price including installation. I really despise when a salesperson comes into my house with a dishonest price and then "discounts" the merchandise. If I accepted that first price he would've taken almost double what he offered in the end. I would never work with a company who does that. Shame, shame Andersen....I never expected that from your brand. The guy seemed professional enough but kept referring to my neighborhood as upscale (hint, hint). It's just a regular neighborhood. He subtly put down other premium brands. But I was still surprised about the outrageous price when he presented it. The presentation was thorough, and the product seems high quality. Looking through other reviews on this site the quotes from years back, it seems that originally the prices were fair and the workmanship good, but by coasting on old good reviews, these guys are taking advantage of consumers in a serious way.

We are sorry to hear that your initial consultation with our sales representative was not a positive one and I apologize for that. I want to thank you for allowing us to followup up with you and do what we can to turn your experience into a much more positive one. We look forward to hopefully one day welcoming you into the Renewal by Andersen family. Again, we apologize for the bad first impression and value the opportunity to earn your business.

Excellent installation (even in the rain). Extremely clean. Three screens had tears and needed to be replaced. They were. Company called several times to see how things were going. No written contract. Salesman does everything on a tablet. I prefer written instrument. Window openings were narrower than before necessitating new window treatments. I suggest you go to the showroom and look at the windows first. Despite the commercial, you are not getting more glass area. Very, very expensive.

terrible and I will never call them again. I will do it myself !!! How hard could it be, not hard at all.......
Description of Work: I needed windows and wanted an estimate. I was badgered by a sales lady, she asked questions that were really so off the charts. How old is your house, how long you lived there, after reapeatedly telling her, all I wanted was someone to come in person see my windows, measure and provide a price and any necessary work, she rudely told me she needed this information. Apparrently, this is a franchise installer company. I called the Anderson main office out of state and reiterated my disappointment and displeasure with the lady in Farmingdale questioning. Guess what she said...."are you still interested in Anderson windows"???I SAID NO !!!!

We used Renewal by Andersen of Long Island three years ago to replace our kitchen window. Based on the very positive experience we had at that time and the high quality of their product, we recently decided to have them replace seven more windows in our home. This latest window replacement project was completed on 1/24/2017 and once again we are extremely satisfied with service provided by Renewal by Andersen of Long Island and with our new windows. Every Renewal by Andersen of Long Island employee that we dealt with including the office personnel we spoke to, the sales representative that came to our home and the crew that installed the windows was very courteous, professional and intent on satisfying us. The office personnel were readily accessible during normal business hours. They thoughtfully assigned the same sales representative to our project who served us so well the first time. The office also kept us well informed about when and how the window replacement would be accomplished. The job went exactly as they indicated with no surprises. The sales representative arrived at our home right on time. Once again, we found his visit to be a very pleasant, informative and productive experience. His extensive knowledge of the Anderson Renewal Window product line and installation process was evident as he answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns. His advice and sample window demonstration helped us to select the windows and options for our application with confidence. He then measured each of the seven windows to be replaced and noted in which direction we wanted the selected casement window replacement to open at each location. Based on this information, he electronically generated a detailed parts list for each of the four rooms affected and a quotation for the complete widow replacement project including all current sales promotions. We decided to proceed with the project (note: the applied returning customer sales promotion made this project affordable to us) . The sales representative had the capability to electronically draw up and sign a detailed contract for the project and to arrange third party project financing for us that same night. It is important to point out that during this visit, we never felt like we were being pressured into a sale. The window replacement project began two days later with a visit by an Anderson Renewal technician who re-checked the window measurements and reviewed/verified the details of the window project with us. He also explained how we should prepare for the day of installation. The three-man installation crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day for the window installation. Each crew member was friendly, courteous and obviously well trained in his job. They worked together as a well-coordinated team. Upon arrival, the crew leader examined the four rooms they would be working in and had his crew use plastic sheeting to cover each room’s contents and to wall off the work area from the rest of the room. The floors and stairs were also covered with canvas tarps along the entire pathway they would be using from the outside doorway to each window being replaced. We realized how carefully our window replacement was planned when they unloaded the windows from the truck and noticed that each box had a printed label indicating which room it went in. Before starting the actual window replacement, the crew leader verified with us the desired location of left and right opening casement windows. The installation crew worked very efficiently with two men inside and one man outside to replace all seven windows within approximately six hours. When the installation was completed, we were invited to inspect their work. We were completely satisfied with the job done. The installation crew thoroughly cleaned up after themselves both inside and outside. The effectiveness of the care and effort taken to keep our home clean was amazing in light of the fact that it was raining intermittently all day. All that was left for us to do after they left was some light vacuuming and the moving of furniture back to their normal positions. The office called within an hour after the job was completed to make sure that we were totally satisfied with their work and with our new windows. We told them that we were extremely satisfied with the service and windows they provided and that we would highly recommend Renewal by Andersen of Long Island to anyone contemplating window replacement.

Very smooth operation. Enrique's team of three installers arrived around 10 am and stayed until 9 pm the first day, and two of them returned the next day to finish. The windows went in quickly, but they took their time doing a careful job applying insulation, ground and joint compound to ensure a really tight fit. The windows themselves operate easily, but only time will tell if they will stand up well to weather and reduce my heating bills. The installers worked all day without a stop. They covered all my furniture, took away the old windows and garbage, and cleaned up in my front yard where they cut the lumber they used. The one complaint I have is that the company did not notify me that the sliding door would not be installed the same day, so I had to re-schedule that installation for a later date. And, of course, their price is high compared to other companies who quoted the job, though maybe justified by the quality of service I received from all the staff I had contact with from this company.

Never got out of the starting gate. Had appointment scheduled for the quote. Company called three times to confirm appointment and ensure that all decision makers would be at the appointment. Then, 15 minutes before they were supposed to come, they called to say sales person had a family emergency. Offered us a discount and rescheduled appointment. Second appointment then again called to confirm the day before and to make sure all decision makers would be there. 15 minutes before the appointment they called and said they had a computer glitch and sales person wasn't coming. They apologized but, didn't really offer any substantive assurances. I told them that we rearranged out schedules twice to make sure we were both home like they requested and asked how are we supposed to believe that if we sign a contract they will show up to do the work. The person on the phone had no real answer. Not an organized or reliable company!

I first contacted Renewal by Andersen when they were walking around the neighborhood speaking to homeowners about their services. The representative, Bernie, was very polite and we scheduled an in-home estimate. The representative came to my home on time and he was very professional and courteous. He did a full walk through and did not push for me to replace anything other than the one window, which does need to be replaced. So why the F? After they looked over the house, and showed their products, which do seem to be very well made, I was given a quote of $15k to replace the bay window. However, if I act now, the price would come down to $12k. I immediately said no thank you and would go another route. I received a follow up call from the Renewal by Andersen office to see how things went. I thanked them for their time, but due to the price, I was not going to use them. Then the sales pitch came in...well, it is the end of the month and we would like to earn your business. Let's see if we can come up with a deal. Guess what? You were already at my home. You should have offered me a fair price at the time, not in the follow up call. Still, this is not why I am giving the F rating. I would not even waste my time writing this review if it was as simple as the price was too much. The price was OUTRAGEOUS and quite frankly, I see it as an attempt at stealing. After my estimate, I looked at other companies. I could have my bay window replaced, using Andersen Windows, for under $5000. When I told that company that I looked at Renewal, they laughed at me and guessed that I was quoted $10,000. When I said the number was $15,000, the laughing stopped and he asked if I was joking. That number is "highway robbery". I ended up selecting another company who is doing the job for under $4000 with a lifetime warranty. The windows are not Andersen, but they are Energy Certified, Triple Pane Glass, and a U Factor lower than any of the other windows I had seen (Andersen and Renewal by Andersen included). So the F grade comes because I see this as nothing but crooks. I get it that when you think windows, you immediately think Andersen. I get it that you pay more for quality and for the name Renewal by Andersen. But to come in over 3x higher for a job is just wrong. When they called and tried to make the deal work, I should have said what I am saying now: You should have given me a fair and honest quote up front, not a marked up price to see if I would bite. The fact that they even tried to go that high is insulting and wrong. I will never consider Renewal by Andersen for any future work and have already shared my experience with friends and family.

The company I called was Anderson Renewal windows in response to their Ad and Brochure but the contractor was Long Island Custom windows. These are the people I dealt with. I signed a contract but they put my signature on all kinds of 17 pages in a contract which I never saw. I signed my name to a blank tablet and they copied my signature on 17 pages. I wanted to cancel when I saw the conditions they put on the installation but they wont let me without a heavy penalty. I was given 3 days to reject but they took my check and cashed it immediately. The paper work was sent a week later so my rights to refusal were compromised. I wanted my money back as they did no work at all. They made nothing in terms of the windows and no work was done in my home. They will not return my money. I am a Senior Citizen and have a very low income. There is nothing custom made about my windows as they were replaced before and the contractor at the time didnt say they were custom windows. My house is a cookie cutter house of which they made hundreds of in my area. They are cruel and illegal in what they are doing and no one should hire them.

First off, I am happy with the windows. The installers seemed to do a fine job, at least initially What I didn't realize until after they were finished, was that in removing the old windows, they destroyed my alarm wires. When I had my alarm installer come to my house to repair and reconnect the sensors to the windows, he said he had never encountered such destruction of alarm window wiring and sensors by window installers. The old windows were torn out without any regard for saving the old wiring. He said that whenever he's encountered this situation before, the window installers would tape the remnants of the wiring to the wall so as to make the repair work easy for the alarm company. In addiition, the window installers usually save the sensors so that they can be reused, whenever possible. As a result, the alarm installer had an all-day job repairing my alarm system. He had to search for the ends of the torn alarm wires which were buried in the walls. He had to install all new sensors because none of the old ones had been salved. The job cost me almost $1000 to get the alarm working again. I would expect to have to pay something to get the alarm up and running again after changing windows, but this amount was very high, and according to my alarm installer, was due to the careless removal of the windows by the Renewal team. I called the company to complain, but they denied any responsibility for my problem. They claimed that this is stated in my contract. I still think that this is inexcusable. Had the window installers taken a little time to be careful with the alarm wiring, they could have saved me close to $1000. This has left me with a very bad feeling about this company. Had they at least agreed to compensate me partially for this problem, I would have been satisfied. NS

The salesman spent 60 minutes telling us how great their windows are and how bad their competition is, mostly lies that I checked after he left. He then started looking at the Windows we wanted to replace and taking measurements. After 30 minutes he came back with his quote to replace 2 sliding doors, 2 bay windows and a casement window. The price was $70,854 but since I had scheduled my appointment in October I would be able to take advantage of a generous 23% discount and if I signed now the price would only be $54,000. I immediately said no but my wife was giving it some thought. The salesman left us alone so we could discuss it. I convinced my wife to decline. The salesman then spent the next hour spreading lies about pella. How they've only been in business for 30 years, they only use single pane glass, their warranty was only 10 years. All things I found out to be lies. He finally left after three hours.
Description of Work: I was looking at replacing two sliding doors, two bay windows and a casement window. I called this company and set up an appointment. They wanted my wife and I both there. They said we would need to allot about 90 minutes to go over everything. The salesman arrived on time.

I saw a booth set up at a Street Fair (ISLAND PARK), and needing 3 windows replaced, after 30 minutes of a lot of sales nonsense, finally got an appointment scheduled. I told them over and over I was only interested in replacing 3 double hung, white framed windows on the ground floor (the rest of the house already has new windows). I was told they needed 90 minutes for a FREE in home Diagnosis. Again I told them this was not needed. Trying to schedule an appointment for an estimate was ridiculous. They said I need to do it in the next 3 days or I didn't qualify for the $500 coupon. They did not have a time schedule to fit my needs, but suddenly after calling a supervisor one magically was available. I also had to stand there and listen to them beg the supervisor to give me the $500 discount coupon, which after handing it to me it clearly states VALID FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5 OR MORE WINDOWS. The next morning I get a call to verify my appointment, and the salesman on the phone, very annoyed that my fianc? would not be home for the estimate tells me that 3 windows replaced would be approximately $6,000 ($2,000 per window). I told them never to call me again. I can buy 3 ANDERSON WINDOWS at Home Depot and have them installed for less than $2,000. Absolutely ridiculous marked up prices. Horrible company.
