Quality 1st Maintenance

It was truly a positive experience having hired Quality 1st maintenance to restore my hundred-year-old stone, brick & stucco chimney. The job entailed repairing the crown, repointing the entire chimney, repairing the stucco, and installing a liner in one of the flues. Oscar and his team were a pleasure to work with! He is professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and paid meticulous attention to detail from start to finish, including cleaning up the worksite. He respected my home and property throughout the entire process. In addition, I had the pleasure of dealing with Joanne, who diligently manages the office side of the operation. She assisted with accommodating appointment times, obtaining insurance certificates, and answering any questions, or concerns that I had, in a prompt, friendly, and most helpful manner. I highly recommend Quality 1st Maintenance!

The chimney cleaning was very reasonably priced. The first time they came they told me the chimney didn't need cleaning and to call agin the next year and use the same deal. That is a very honest, unusual thing for a provider to propose and we appreciated their honesty and professionalism. A bit of a problem in getting back to me about further service, to upper chimney, they said I needed. Paperwork couldn't be located.

They did a cleanout of my chimney--were a few minutes early, very professional, it looks good. Haven't used it yet, but had a good vibe and assuming all goes well when I light a fire, I would definitely use them again, the price was very reasonable and I liked their attitude and work ethic.

The contractor stated that the chimney had two openings, one for the fire place and one for the boiler. He explained that his contract did not include vacuuming the boiler chimney only the fire place. I believed when I purchasing the service through Angie's list that this included the entire chimney.

The two people who came by were punctual and friendly. They were great with my dog. Work was performed quickly and they cleaned up when they left.

Oscar, was a professional and explained everything that needed to be done as well as possible future maintenance. I would highly recommend him to anybody that needs an honest assessment to their chimneys issues.

The provider was very prompt, and professional. He also let us know that we were missing a damper and that the chimney was in okay condition. The actual $50 chimney sweep we were very happy with!

My heating company came over to look at the furnace and they know that some work had been done, and wanted to know what it was. I told them and they asked if I did fall for that because they said I didn't need to do that so I felt ripped off. He showed me where water moisture had deteriorated the cement inside the chimney, and showed me some rubble at the bottom. They said that it will cause a pump back and I have to do it. My heating person told me I didn't have to do that. They told me to call them if I ever have a question but I felt like I have just been ripped off. He was giving me a discount but I didn't get the discount. He told me what a bargain he was giving me and he seemed so honest and so nice. He enclosed it altogether and he charged the full amount for the sweep and I didn't notice it until later, and he did an additional chimney too. I felt it was disreputable. At first, I was very pleased. I thought they were giving me a great deal and saving me from future damage. I didn't like paying it, and they also did do the extra chimney but when I found out much later that I didn't need to do that, and it was another scam to do this time, not just them but a lot of them, they have a reputation that I felt cheated. Their manner was very nice, they were clean, and they were thorough. The price was awful. I think they overcharged for the liner. The other thing was I had pressure that I had to do that or they couldn't give me that price which is a scam. I assume the quality is okay, but I have no way of knowing. They were very responsive. If they did clean it, then the price was terrible but for a liner, I have no idea what it should cost. He really had me convinced and I didn't even question. They appeared professional. It's hard to judge because my concept after they left was great. It wasn't until later that I realized that it was a rip off. By appearance and the way they conducted themselves, they were professional-looking.

Could not have had a better experience with Quality 1st. Oscar is amazing. I called him up the night before and told him I needed the chimney cleaned prior to installing my replacement vented log gas fireplace set and he came the next day. He was absolutely fantastic and he is also a true gentleman. He takes tremendous pride in the work he does and it certainly shows. I only wish I had his information last year before paying another company to rebuild the top twelve rows of the chimney. They did a horrible job and I know the work will need to be done again at some point in the future. I will definitely be calling Oscar to help get it straightened out. His pricing is extremely reasonable but more importantly I can rest assured he will do the job right.

They were prompt & professional. We had another issue arise that they gave a fair quote for and performed the follow-up job very soon afterwards and very well. Would call them again for service anytime.

Fiance and I were on a budget and the fireplace seemed to be falling apart so we called Oscar for a cleaning and consultation. The damper was rusted out and not opening or closing so he replaced it with a lock top damper. The fireplace had holes you could nearly see through so he re-pointed using mortar and also installed a chimney cap (which was a little crooked though). Overall, thrilled with the quality of the service, the price, and Oscar's professionalism. Can't wait to start burning!

Oscar and his helper did a great job, on time, quick, efficient and best of all didn't try to sell something I didn't need. He did offer some pointers about about my chimney that I should look into in the future which I appreciated. I would use them again in the future.

We hired Quality 1st to inspect and sweep the chimney in our new home. Oscar and his partner arrived early, were very professional, and left no mess behind. Oscar informed us of a problem with the fireplace damper and offered to replace the broken part, rather than claiming the whole damper needed to be replaced. He fixed it on the spot for a fraction of what it would've cost if we had had someone less honest do the repair. With the damper fixed, we can already see a noticeable difference in the temperature of our home! After working with this company I am confident that we can safely use our fireplace for the first time! We will be hiring them again for our annual chimney sweeps.
