Late getting started but moved along ok. Needed to fix problems after work done, came back several times. Stayed after dark several nights and lost parts to my awnings. They contacted awning company to get replacements and had them come out to fix them. I had to pay the bill of $200. I got $100 back. They lost the parts in the dark. Would not use anyone that was that far away because they complained about the distance they needed to travel. Comunication problems several times with workers. English not their first language. Very nice people but communication not easy. Supervisor Mike bent over backwards to correct problems. They did clean up the mess and carted it away. I hope they did not totally destroy my plants. Never had work like this done before so I did not know what to expect and this was my first time handeling it alone. Next time I have something this big done I will get a friend to supervise.
It took a while to get started (not their fault) Waiting for funds from Hurricane Sandy. Once started we met with team and disucced time for project to begin. Team was early to arrive and get started. I only hope that manager was present. He showed up for at least three to five minutes and falied to check work. He always asked for more money with out checking work. This was left up to us to do. Unfortunately, some of the jobs had to be redone or fixed. Sean, his boss then came to see what was going on and he took over from there. Everything was to our specifications. The indoor crew had only to be directed once. They covered everything, clean up after themselves and check for approval constantly. What a great crew! This was worth the money. My house looks livable again.
Description of Work: Replaced roof and skylights (9). including flask, Clapboard siding. Replace Bay Windows and 3 French doors (Anderson). Replaster ceiling in den and paint areas that they worked on.
We had our roof totally replaced and ice shield installed; some facis board also replaced. Brick chimney was rebuilt, leaders and gutters replaced (with screens on gutters), garage doors (2) replaced, and all debris carted away. The project was scheduled very well and work completed on time.

They were good but not perfect. Some of the installation was a little bit sloppy. Their demeanor was excellent. Their prices were slightly high. I might use them again.
Description of Work: We used Pro Quality Home Improvements Inc to put in siding on our house.
I first heard of Pro Quality Home Improvements when they contacted me through phone solicitation. They told me they would be doing estimates in my area and would like to come by to take a look at any work that may need to be done. I had many projects that needed to be done and was just beginning to schedule estimates, so the timing of the call couldn't have been better. I told them I'd love them to come by. They asked me for a good time that my wife and I would both he available to have them come by. I told them I understood the practice of having both home owners/decision makers present, but unfortunately due to our immediate work and social schedules, that wouldn't be possible. I assured them I was capable and trusted to make the decision to hire them. They preferred to wait until both parties could be present. I told them we would most likely make the decision and get started with our projects before that was possible. After a bit more discussion, the phone call ended. I was disappointed, but understood their policy. They called me about a week later and we had a similar conversation. I explained in more detail my position in more detail, the woman from Pro Quality explained their position and that was it. They called again 2 weeks later and I told them I had found someone to do the work and wouldn't be needing their services. We discussed their policy and my circumstance again and ended the call. I thought that would be the last I heard from Pro Quality. Several months later I received a call from Pro Quality saying they had a note to call me in the spring. I am working on another part of the house and the contractor I had just used wasn't available, so I figured if they could send someone over without my wife being home, I'd be happy to talk to them because I did need work done. They were willing to make an exception and asked what I needed done. I was on my way out and didn't have time to discuss it in detail, so I asked if I could call them back later in the day. They kept me on the phone asking about what needed to be done. I told them very quickly a few things (a fence removal and installation in my yard, a back-splash in my kitchen and some paneling removed, paint and spackle) but was in a rush. They wanted to come later that day/evening. I asked them if I could call them back as I wasn't sure what time I would be returning home and available. The rep started throwing out times; 4:30, 5, 5:30... I said if they wanted to call ME later to be sure I was home, that would be best. They said they would just come at 6 pm. Annoyed but needing to find a contractor during a very busy time for contractors, I asked if they could make it 6:30. They agreed. They never showed up. I thought for sure, that was the last I would hear from Pro Quality Home Improvement. I was wrong! About 10 days after their no show, Pro Quality Home Improvement called me. I reminded them of our history and said I couldn't believe they still have me on their list. The guy acted like their was some mix up and asked when I was available to come by. Since AVAILABLE, reasonable contractors are soooo hard to find, I told them they could come by that evening. They asked if my wife would be home. I told him scheduling a time with both my wife and I was never going to happen. He asked if she would be home that evening or Saturday sometime. I told him to just forget it. His reply was to ask if they could come by at 10 AM Saturday. I agreed. He again asked what needed to be done. I explained what I needed done in detail and answered ALL their questions. It is now 11:09 Saturday morning and I have not heard from Pro Quality Home Improvements. I have been waiting in my living room, with my wife, since 9:30 AM. We have errands to run and chores to do, but wanted to wait for Pro Quality to show up before going on about our day. I called Pro Quality several times since 10:20, but nobody is answering or any answering machine for me to leave a message. I'm probably more disappointed in MYSELF for even entertaining the thought of letting a company that has proven themselves to be unreliable and unprofessional into my home even for an estimate. After this experience and now seeing other reviews here on Angie's list, It would just be insane to let these people do any work for me now. In the end, this experience has cost me time and aggravation, but better just that time and aggravation than the time, aggravation and money that I'm sure would have been lost had I hire Pro Quality to do the work I need done. Save yourselves the aggravation, don't even entertain the thought of doing business with these hard sell no show specialists!
Description of Work: They never showed up.

Could you imagine if we actually did work for this customer. The reason Angie's List is unfair is that they allow posts like this to be on their site. We never would do business with customers like this. We are the one's at risk. We must put thousands of dollars work or time effort and material on someones home and hope that they pay us. If there was an Angies List for Company's with list of customers that should be avoided, this customer would surely be on it. People that take the time effort and money to post negative reviews are usually unstable. Good Luck out there. Try ---Home Advisor

I went on line looking for a roofing inspector, as I wasn't sure whether my roof needed replacing and was nervous about possible leaks. The names of four contractors popped up together with a message that they would contact me within 20 minutes. This contractor called immediately and we set up an appointment. A pleasant young man went up on the roof to inspect it. He said that my roof was and quot;spongyand quot; and needed replacing. He said the roof was 1800 sq. ft. and quoted $14,845 for 30-yr. GAF shingles, plus the cost of plywood. If all the plywood needed replacing, that would be another 7 or $8,000. He wanted 1/3rd. down and the rest could be financed at no interest, through a separate company, payable after one year. His was the first quote, and I wanted to check some other contractors. He did his utmost to get me to sign on the spot. First, he said if I allowed their sign on my property for 10 days, they would knock $896 off the price. But this was a and quot;special fundand quot; thru GAF, and he didn't know how long the $ would stay in there. If another customer signed up before me, it would be gone. Then his boss (with whom he was in constant contact by 'phone), said they were doing a job round the corner in a day or so, and they could use that dumpster so I could save another $933 on dumpster fees. I said no matter what, I would not sign up then and there, and he asked me and quot;would you do it for $5,000?and quot;. I thought these tactics were unprofessional. I finally got the job done by another contractor with mostly good reviews on Angie's List. The contractor I chose said my roof would last another year or two, and he did the job for $7200, no $ down, and it turned out that no plywood needed replacing. I was not shopping only for price, but also for someone whom I could trust.

Our price is never the lowest. After Sandy all of the un-trained roofers were exposed. Another example of unusual people taking time to write un-substantiated reviews. How can you give an F for Quality if we never did work on the house. How does Angies list allow posts of people who we have never done work for. The work went very well. They were very efficient and did a good job. The first day I spoke with a salesman and he told me they would do it tomorrow because I was trying to get it done as soon as possible. The next day they had a truck here ready to begin. My insurance company, however, prevented them from starting for a couple of weeks. At that time I signed the contract, the price was well above $13,000. I thought that was a little high; I was willing to pay the higher price if it was done immediately, but now that it had been drug out I asked for $5,000 off. The owner of the company tore up the old contract and drafted a new one honoring the reduced price. I don't think you can ask more than that. I was very pleased with this companies work.

As I said above, they just provided a quote.
Description of Work: I called them because of a flyer I received regarding generators. I am interested in having a natural gas powered generated installed. They only provided a quote, but that quote was high enough to be price gouging. They quoted $19,000 for a 20 kw generator. And, their fee does not include the county permit fee. I've had a lot of other work done to my house, and ALL other contractors pay the permit fee out of what I have paid them. For Pro Quality to not include the permit fee in their very high prices just seems insulting. Additionally, I asked for their sales rep to provide 3 references of other home owners so I can gauge if they really do live up to the name of their company. They never got back to me. Overall, my impression of this company is quite negative.

Your kidding me, right! Generator cost over $13,000 to install. Add 10% for overhead and total cost is $14900. That leaves a profit margin of 21.5%. How is this wrong. Try to stay in business for less than 20%. 8 out of 10 contractors go out of business within 2 years. This is the reason. Try Home Advisor

Not really sure why this response was made 7 months after work was completed. Customer was happy with all work performed. When windows were removed areas under windows were completely rotted and filled with carpenter ant damage. Of course work on siding was needed. The customer wanted to get all of the additional work done for free. The customers procrastination caused severe damage to his siding. Sometimes the customer get mad at the contractors when rot is found. We try very hard to satisfy all of our customers. If you read on you will see lots of happy Pro Quality Customers. Angies List only counts paying members to our grade. Very unfair.

whole house to be rewired - it was really quite a common scam from contractos he said..
Description of Work: We agreed in December to have new basement windows. My husband got Brain Cancer a week after we signed the contract, and for the next 6 months it was a whirlwind of hospitals, rehabs, and finally funeral, and the aftermath of that....Monthlywe got calls from this company wondering when to do the job...Finally we agree on the job to be done, and someone from the comany ame and found that my electric box needed to be replaced both inside and out, and also the pipe that leads outside; I also at that time asked him to add on replacing two garage windows and fixing the side screen garage door...The men came to do the basement windows, and I guess nobody told them how many had to be done. As they were leaving I gave eack of them a tip, and noticed my garage door open. (where the oriiginal windows to be intalled had been) As I was closing the garage, I noticed another window- I quickly went back to them, and told them, and sure enough, they forgot one to be done in the basement. They did the work very quickly, and left. Two days later we had a storm and I had water in my basement because the windows hadn't been corked at all inside, and apparently, outside. Only two of the windows(the new ones) They came and put stuff all over the border of the window. I also noticed when we saw the inside basement water, an extension cord going across the basement ...from someone using our shop vac. They unplugged a plug to use this shop vac, never put the other one in when finished, and the plug they unplugged- was my freezer --full of food. They gave me a check for $300, and later another $168...This alone should have warned me of the shadiiness. Their salesman, espeially Sean Murphy, would not take no foranswer when he came after the work had been done and told me I needed to have my whole house rewired, -to the tune of $16,900 more (added what I already gave them). I had a migraine, I have shingles in my head, and he would not leave without agreeing to his request, and me giving him a check for $5000. Later that day, when my head was clearer, I called a friend to ask for a second opinion. He came and looked at the "change order" and told me this was a scam. Not to let these people back in my house. I called them the next day -eft a message I needed to canel my change order. Sean called back all ruffled that I would not stay with the plan as planned. I told him there was no depbate I had a migraine, and just want the money back. My son advised me not to have any more dealings with him or the company without him being there. Sean called, said I could get my $5000 back but I was to sign a waiver denying that anything they did was wrong. I refused to do that....Anyhow, someone came from the company later and I got my money back. I had a firemen friend of my daughter in for an estimate and he said some changes had to be made, but certainly not a

They came on time and immediately went about performing the tasks I contracted them to do. They worked effectively and efficiently. The workers really knew what they were doing and it was obvious that they each had a great deal of experience in installing replacement windows. I was extremely impressed with the manner in which they cleaned up after themselves to the point where you would not know that they had been ere and performed the extensive work that they had done when they completed their assigned tasks. They realigned my garage door to eliminate daylight on both sides of the door which was causing me to loose heat and could possibly permit insects and small rodents to get gain access into my house. I recently had some brick masonry work performed on the front facade of my house and a cap over the top had to be installed which the original contractor failed to do and would have caused water to get behind the brickwork and loosen the bricks which could cause serious injury if they eventually would dislodge and fall down into the driveway and hit someone who as entering or exiting the garage. Pro Quality installed the cap and chaulked it to alleviate the problem. I highly recommend this company to homeowners as their service was far superior to others I have had work on my property in the past. Ed V. Farmingdale, NY
Description of Work: This company was excellent. They did exactly what the salesperson said they would do when I signed the contract. The workers were punctual and extremely neat in their instillation of several windows in my home. In addition, they placed a cap over some brick work in the front of my home to prevent damage and chalked it thoroughly. They realigned my garage door to eliminate daylight coming through the sides of the door and help prevent rodents and/or squirrels from gaining access to my home. They completed the work in just several hours and a supervisor came out near the end of the job to check that the work was accomplished to my full and complete satisfaction. They brought drop clothes to protect my rugs and cleaned up any and all accumulated depree as a result of the work they performed. The workers were extremely courteous and professional and I highly recommend this company to any homeowners in the future that need the various services this company provides. In this day and age, it was a pleasure to deal with a company that did the work in such a professional, effective and efficient manner. Ed V. Farmingdale, NY

The roof replacement was handled with outstanding professionalism from start of project to the end with the clean up.
The sink was difficult, and was instlaled without further problems. I am pleased with the way it turned out. Painting was done quickly, and neatly. using quality paint. The gutters presented a problem in that they seemed to leak, and overflowed in places where they never had before. I called and was pleased to receive an answer that day .The next day someone was here to investigate and solve the problem. All in all, I was very satisfied with the services Pro Quality provided.
Description of Work: Pro Quality replaced a wall hanging sink in the upstairs bathroom with a pedistal sink..The cost was about $500.00, and was well worth it....They also painted the hall, livingroom, kitchen dining room and downstairs bathroom, and replaced the gutters on the outside. All work was supervised by the bosses, who responded positively, and immediately when I had a question or was not satisfied with something.. The total cost was about $16,000.
