+ 5 moreJim takes pride in his work and performed each task as if he was working in his own home. The fireplace surround and cabinetry is pictured on his page but does not do justice to its beauty. It is the focal point of our new house and everyone who sees it is blown away. Jim is a skilled and creative master craftsman and carpenter. He presented us with drawings of his design plans for approval and a complete and accurate estimate of the cost of the work. All work to be done was spelled out in a work order. Very professional!!! He promptly returned phone calls and e-mails. Jim worked neatly and cleaned up when he was finished working. He is reliable and courteous. I would hire him without hesitation and recommend him in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Jim Dooley designed, built and installed our floor to ceiling fireplace surround which covers the entire wall in our living room measuring 10' in height and 18' in length. The surround includes window seats with drawers and cabinets on both sides of the surround which include glass doors with glass shelves and lighting, drawers at the bottom and cabinets at the top. The surround was built offsite and when installed it was a perfect fit. He installed lighting above the fireplace and window seats, tiled a section above the fireplace, and installed a hearth. Our living room/kitchen is one open space. Jim designed, built and installed wood trim above around our pocket doors leading from the living room to the sunroom and designed, built and installed crown molding in the living room/kitchen area, all which perfectly matched the kitchen cabinets. Jim removed our side door stairs and railings and designed, constructed and installed new stairs and installed new railings. He also moved our dryer to an outside wall, moved the outlet, and installed a dryer vent. He installed a new outlet in our kitchen island. He hung the mirrors in the master bath and installed all the door handles.
