Description of Work: Installed an entire new roof on my 50 year old house. The crew started on 9/16 and finished on 9/19. They started early in the morning and worked until sundown. They covered all the shrubs and moved anything that could be damaged. The after-cleanup was meticulously done. The work itself is impeccable - the roof looks amazing! It took a month from the time I signed the contract before the work started. This is a busy company because they are so good at their work. One important note - the original estimate included an extra $3000 in case all the underlaying wood would have to be replaced. It wasn't needed. The under wood was in good shape. This is a professional and honest firm.

Description of Work: The work done was excellent. Unfortunately a very bad taste was left in my mouth when I received the final bill, which added 10% because I signed the contract more than 30 days after it was provided. If the contractor wa going to add this additional cost, he should have told me so when I signed the contract and not wait until the completion of the job. Again, the work was good but I found that tactic to be totally unprofessional.

Description of Work: Needed upgrade to secondary bathroom. Replaced corner shower unit-used existing shower base and very good at putting it together in the existing framework. Replaced toilet, installed new vanity and completed additional work on the plumbing. Paid lots of attention to detail-installed the linen closet and adjusted all the drawers so they opened properly. Once project was started,additional work needed to be done to bring it to code- communicated well with us to try to stay within our budget. Very accomodating to fit us into their schedule. Had a small leak in the shower line-they came back to fix it without question. They were very good about cleaning up after themselves during renovations and when completed. We are very pleased with the work they did for us. Initially saw them doing siding and work at a house in the neighborhood. My husband contacted them and they were quick to come and provide an estimate and started the work in a few weeks. Most other contractors we called were no shows or were not interested in doing the "small job". Very pleased with the outcome-we expect to have them do a remodel on our main bathroom after the first of the year.

Description of Work: We've had Robert Layman Jr. Construction perform work a few times now on 2 houses. They are professional and reasonably priced. They replaced gutters, added soffit, a basement outside door, also did some concrete work around the door, and siding. We highly recommend them. They are friendly and do great work. They are on time also. They do what they say they are going to do. They go above and beyond to do the job right or they will make it right if we wanted something changed.

Description of Work: Removed all old roofing material; put on new shingles and ice and water barrier; removed and reinstalled original gutters, downspouts, and ice melter tape. Also replaced two sheets of roof boards that had rotted due to water leaks in old roof. Also removed and and replaced with new the two old storm doors on the breezeway. In addition, the men helped me with a couple of chores that weren't part of the contract: They helped me remove and dispose of an old water softener from the cellar that was too heavy for me to lift, and they replaced a piece of siding that had fallen off and fastened some siding that was loose. They removed and disposed of all discarded materials, used a big magnet to sweep up any loose nails, and raked the lawn to get any remailing materials.
