ANC Heating and Air Conditioning

I posted a detailed UNSAT rating of the BBB sites. Net - I have called ANC 17 TIMES over the last 2 years to replace 7 pieces of siding they damaged when installing my new AC. They have given me every excuse under the sun, bad company credit card when ordering the siding, company sent soffit instead of siding, Lloyd Jr isn’t responding to service tech, “ will call you back tomorrow “ weeks go by and I still have to chase them. Guess it’s time we go to court.

Our furnace is 15 years old. After the inspection, We were told by the ANC technician that we had a cracked heat exchanger. This is the piece that pulls the carbon dioxide out of the air being pumped into the house. The tech said the piece would definitely be under warranty but we would have to pay labor. They wanted to charge us $1121.21 in labor! The tech the calls a senior tech consultant to the house. He “confirms” the problem & proceeds to try to sell us an entire new furnace! They ended up red tagging the unit & left. I thought something was funny, so found a man that works for the state doing the same thing. He came over & began to unscrew a piece. They had already been loosened. He said the companies have been know to loosen the screws to weaken the vacuum & that’s exactly what had been done. After tightening the screws, He continued to perform a thorough check of the system & found absolutely nothing wrong with the unit. I was shown a carbon dioxide detector (one that NYSEG uses) after being held in the unit while it was running. It showed 0.00. The CO2 in the air was Zero parts per million. ANC tried to tried to charge us $1100 for a part that works perfectly fine! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

They installed my furnace and do my maintenance. Good quality, I'm very happy. I've been using them for many years.

They are excellent. I've been dealing with them for seven years and they have been wonderful. They put the Geothermal heating system in my house and they keep it. Anytime I have a problem, they come right away.

They left the pipe loose or they never did put the screws back in after they cleaned it. I don't know what really happened, but I know the pipe came off the top of the boiler and the fumes were coming in. They did a good job cleaning it, they just didn't finish the job properly. They could probably provide better training for their service people. It might have been a new guy, I don't know. They could have a checklist of things they should do. They were very polite and they did do a good job cleaning it, it's just that they left that off. It wasn't the best price, but it was within. You have to call them a couple of times. They were here when they said they were going to be. I did use them again for my wood stove.

The second best is ANC. It depends on what you're doing. This was a particularly complex problem and they have guys that have the experience to solve it. They have extremely skilled technicians. They're prompt. It's just incredible. They had to come out because it was an emergency call. They called me right back. They had someone right there when they said they would be right there. It was one heck of a hard problem to fix and they fixed it. They're everything you would want from someone like that.

Update: While we stand by our review of the installers and their service, we must seriously warn anyone who is considering doing business with ANC Heating. The personnel in the office have a total disregard and lack of respect for their customer! We have been trying for the past two months to receive a $25.00 payment, which they agree is due to us. We have left several phone messages with at least 4 different people in the office, requesting a call back. Instead, we have been blatantly ignored. So for the sake of a mere $25.00, you could say ANC has won this little battle. They have, however, lost our respect and our business. We went to the ANC showroom (which is very nice) to select a fireplace. They have many choices, depending upon your needs. Salesman then came out to assess the fit and the installation of the selected unit that we purchased. Unit was ordered and when it came in, they called us and set up an installation date. Installation date arrived, and so did the two installers, right on time. They were very professional and yet friendly. This was a very involved installation due to removing the old fireplace, resizing the opening in the wall for the new fireplace, and changing out the roof vent. Even though the weather was cold and rainy that day, the installers didn't complain one bit. Jim and Eric worked long hours to make sure everything was done properly, and did it all without making any mess in our home. The work they did was very precise and we are very pleased!

ANC gave me dates that worked for me, arrived on time, explained exactly what they were going to do and how long it would take. The installations went to plan. They cleaned up very well. Both systems are working. No issues. Installers were very pleasant.

The worker arrived on time, he put on booties so as to not track in dirt. He reviewed the system in question and found that it was a simple fix. We have not had the problem since.

Servicing done quickly and effectively. Service person knowledgeable and efficient. He was very conscious of keeping premises clean. He was on time after some earlier problems with scheduling. Initial date for service missed because maintenance person had problem with earlier scheduled client and could not get to us. Sadly, no one from ANC called to alert us of the cancellation. We had to call to reschedule. Then the morning of the rescheduled appointment, ANC called while we were out and left a message that our service appointment would be cancelled unless we called to confirm. We called immediately, an hour before the scheduled appointment and were told that since we were not home when the confirmation call was made, we would have to reschedule. We protested and indicated that we would document our experience on Angie's List, the original appointment time was restored and the service person arrived on time.

ANC is a class outfit. Lloyd and the crew are professional and competent.

The service tech was named "Tom." He was professional, friendly, and courteous. He arrived within the window of time offered by the ANC point of of contact. Tom did not hesitate to honor a coupon which saved me fifty dollars. I do wish that ANC would spark Amana to do something about this particular service part. I purchased the furnace in 2007 and this is the second time the transducer has had to be replaced.

We were quoted prices for 3 fans. The total amount for the 3 fans was over $1500.00. A little research, online shopping and putting on the fans ourselves cost $400. total for all 3, a savings of over $1100.00. They are overpriced and the coal stove is a huge investment for a short time of use and its longevity is negligible

A representative visited my house and assured me that the work could be accomplished and promised to get back to me with an estimate. He did not get back with me and did not return my calls.

Always pleased with their installs and service. Have purchased two furnaces, two water heaters, central AC and a fireplace over the years. Service was better when Mike was still there and they can be pricey but quality is consistent.

I have never had an issue with any of their installs, ever. It was a lot of work. They are just awesome. They are knowledgeable. They have a huge flea of people so I never have to wait, I can get someone out the same day if needed, and they all know what they are doing. I have used them in every single one of my houses.

Installed furnace, removed old and necessary clean up. Also provided new thermostat & humiidifier.

They came out within 25 minutes of my telephone call and I will use them again in the future.

They came out when I called them and they were on time. They were good and I will grade them average on everything.

We bought a pellet stove from ANC at an end of year clearance for $1800. The following fall we had the manager come to our house to give us a quote, $2500 for installation. He told us how they would install it and why it would cost so much. My husband read the owners manual to see if it was going to be installed correctly and it wasn't. He called the stove manufacturer to verify this. We then called ANC to explain what the manufacturer said and we were told that they do it this way all the time and it is the correct way. We then had to insist on having the stove installed manufacturer specifications. At this point we wanted to hire someone else to install the stove, but there were no dealers within any reasonable drive to install it so we were stuck if we wanted to have the stove warranty. They told us it needed a special installation that is why it cost so much. We called all over the place to find a different installer, but no one would touch something we didn't buy from them and said it sounded really high, so bad on us for not asking what it would cost to install before we bought it. It took over 4 weeks to get the dampers when they told us it would take one. The installer cob-jobbed it together and there was a major air leak in the basement of hot air because he did not mach up the ductwork properly and the silicon he used to seal it peeled away. We contacted ANC and they sent someone out within a week to "fix" it. They told us that they are the number one heating place in our area and they would not want to do anything to damage that reputation. The "repair" which was more silicone only lasted about another week. We did not call them back. The damper they put in does not sit on the furnace correctly and we had to reseal that ourselves. The back side of furnace was cob-jobbed together piecemeal and there were air leaks everywhere. We had to fix that ourselves too. This has been a nightmare. We have since sold the pellet stove. I would not ever recommend this company to family.

Thjey charged roughly 50% more than they had the previous year.
