My parents and brother have used B&C for years (in White Plains) for non-trivial plumbing needs. They are the Mercedes of plumbers. They do excellent work, are professional and generally responsive and punctual. They have excellent relations with the building depts, so if a permit is needed they can and will get it. All of this comes at Mercedes prices. I guess we keep coming back despite that because we know what we will get and that we won't have to worry about it. You'll have to decide what that's worth to you. The last significant job was replacing the basement sump pump, installed about 40 years ago and connected to the sewer line. They said that was no longer permitted and it had to discharge outside. They determined it could drain into one of the drywells a gutter downspout was connected to. This required running about 40' of pipe from the sump location, including drilling a 3" hole through an interior masonry wall about 1' thick and connecting it into the exterior drain. All this was done for about $2,200, including materials and new pump. Took about 3 hours. Excellent job, but you do the math on the equivalent hourly rate. We did not shop around so have nothing to compare it to. Have had no issues since.

I was warned about Bruni when I moved to White Plains. I ignored that advice and used them for a boiler maintenance. They did a fine job as far as I can tell, though they charged 2x the price that A+N (another angie's list plumber, which I highly recommend). anyway, i called them to replace my water heater's thermocouple. I would have done it myself, but given we have a high-efficiency, sealed burner, i wanted a professional. what a mistake. appointment 10am-1pm? arrived at 3:30pm. $120 for first half hour. ok - fine - but to replace a thermocouple, even in our water heater, should take about 20 minutes. NOPE. ESTIMATE FOR THE JOB? $550. FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY. i can buy a new water heater for that amount. When I asked for an explanation, the technician said that he had to charge me for his time to drive to the hardware/supply store to get my part and back. In White Plains. Needless to say, I will not use Bruni again. Stay away. I recommend A+N. They are honest people, and, if they can't do your job, they will give you advice and a referral to other honest people, for free.

Bruni Campisi responded "within the hour" as I quote the person who answered the phone when I called on off hours. One phone, call and I had an emergency response from this vendor. The plumber explained the problem and took care of it. You pay more for emergency response work of course, but I like a hot shower in the morning!

The technician Sal arrived early which was great. He was very professional and had the part that was needed to be replaced. He explained everything throughout the process and was done in less than an hour. Very pleasant and professional. Would definitely recommend. Even covered shoes so that he would not track in any snow or salt from outside.

Said that the unit was emitting toxic levels of CO and quoted us $12-15k for a new boiler, even though ours worked, he did not feel that it was worth it to try to fix it. I got a second opinion and the tech informed us that it is a trick that a lot of boiler guys use. When the weather is warm (it was around 80 degrees) the out vent doesn't have suction so the CO blows back in the house or can't escape. We have turned it on in cold weather and it registers low to normal levels of CO. Seemed like they were rip off artists trying to take advantage, but it could also just be the service rep we used.
Description of Work: Had them come out to do maintenance and check our older model boiler. This was right after we moved in and we had tested the system with a home inspector.

Response from Bruni & Campisi
We take matters of safety very seriously and feel our technician did the right thing in this case. As part of our maintenance checkups, we test for CO which is extremely dangerous and at certain levels can be lethal. For this reason we have invested in digital CO testers which provide an accurate and reliable way of testing for toxic levels of CO. Our technician found the CO level to be 801 parts per million (PPM). Dangerous levels of CO is anything over 70 PPM and lethal levels of CO is anything over 150 PPM according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. While the heating system may have been working, it was clearly unsafe.

Unfortunately this customer is right. While not an excuse but simply an explanation, with the weather turning you can imagine the volume of calls all heating service companies are fielding this time of year. This customer fell through the cracks and we dropped the ball. For that we are sorry. It is not our intention to turn away work and we appreciate all opportunities we can get, especially in this economy.

Lousy! Bruni and Campisi has not been good the last year. They always try to charge Emergency - even if they come 8 hours later - and then they don't have the parts - so they have to charge a deposit when they get here! It has been a week and they never returned the call and never furnished the services they said they would furnish and I am fed up. I need a new heating and plumbing service provider and I don't recommend Bruni and Campisi! They said I needed a new Mixing Valve for $1150 for which they charged me the initial 200 for deposit. They also said they would call and be back the next day. It has been a week! No calls and replacement still not here!
Description of Work: bruni and campisi as getting worse and worse! their service is lousy and their quotes are always Emergency! I am an angies list member and always look at the reviews before I call for services and Bruni has been really terrible the last year! our Hot water was not hot enough and called Bruni to send someone. They came at the end of the day and then said didnt have the parts for the mixing vavle but was too late to order it now and wiull have it ordered the next day. It has been a week and I just called them and they said they will call me back. A week! what service? Lousy

The project started a little shaky, when the man who does the survey and estimate didn't show up one day - nor did he call me. However, once the installers started it went just fine. After a little truck problem David arrived and got right to work. David's sidekick, Kevin, arrived later with all the new equipment. They worked continuously taking only one break - lunch. The project was estimated to take 2 days. However, they had to come back a third day just for a couple of hours to make sure that everything was working properly. Both David and Kevin were totally professional. David explained everything that they were doing and why. lHe also carefully taught me how to program the thermostats. They made sure that my house was left clean and neat at the end of each work day. I totally recommend Bruni & Campisi for any kind of plumbing, a/c and heating problems.

Vince took a good amount of time to examine the structure top to bottom to perform the NYSERDA checklist. He was constrained somewhat by the computer program this program mandates in terms of details provided, but was efficient in follow-up email with our questions. While my husband and I still have not made a decision on the improvements suggested, I was happy with the overall experience. Vince knew his stuff.

My family recently moved into a new house, and the valve that controls water flow to the toilet was inside the wall. (Go figure.) So, this weekend, I turned off the water, soldered in a new length of copper supply pipe, and stuck on a new valve. Then I turned the water back on, and all of a sudden my bathroom was transformed into the Lincoln Center fountain. Water everywhere. Sunday morning. Long-suffering wife; thirsty toddler; no way to keep the water running without flooding the house. I called Bruni and Campisi, and in barely an hour Joe arrived in the driveway. Friendly, professional, and clearly skilled, he had the problem fixed in no more than twenty minutes - for less money than some places charge to snake a drain, and on a Sunday, even. He used my leftover pipe and valve, so there was no materials charge (and therefore no guarantee on materials, though his work was guaranteed). Plus he gave me a very gracious lesson in soldering, showing me what I had done right and what I had messed up. We couldn't have asked for better. This was a small job, and I'm new to hiring plumbers, but based on this experience I wouldn't hesitate to hire Joe and B&C again.

They come and check the systems to make sure they are working properly. Most times they just clean out the system, but this year I needed a few parts replaced. I'd rather do that before something breaks down and not be inconvenienced with no heat or air conditioning. When I've called them about a problem, they come promply.Back in 2007 when my basement was flooded (along with most of my neighborhood) I called them and they came the day after I pumped out my basement and got my furnace and hot water heater working with just a few replacement parts needed.
