Professional and polite. Although work on the first visit was not to my satisfaction, a second visit left me completely satisfied at no extra charge. I'm very pleased with the results and appreciative of the workers and the company.

I chose them because of the Angie's ratings and had high expectations which were met. My initial phonecall was answered promptly and politely when I was told the time window to expect them - that they would ring to say when they were on their way, and also a break down of their charges. They did indeed ring in advance and Anthony turned up within the window. He did a great job, explaining what had happened, what he was going to do, and how we could avoid it in the future. He was friendly helpful and got the job done. While he wasnt an AC expert himself he provided valuable advice on how we should handle the AC issue we have. I will definately be using Bruno and Campisi for future Plumbing needs.

Overall. Expensive. But good service.
Description of Work: A pipe running to the shower/bath busted. They came on a Sunday (emergency) and stopped the leak. 30 min. = $250. Seemed kind of crazy expensive but it was a Sunday and it was an emergency and they tell me it was $250 minimum before they came. The pipe and the fittings were old so they had to be upgraded. An appointment was made and they came back and installed the new fixtures and pipe fittings for $895. Flat rate - I was given an itemized description - which I should have. It took the guy 90 minutes total. I'm not sure how much the fixtures & fittings were but that seems pretty steep. However, they did a good job, efficient and friendly.

They are just excellent. They took the time to check over everything when they came out. It was interesting to watch, because they recognized some of the work of their own people when they came out. I have not used many plumbers outside of Bruni & Campisi, however I think that their prices are about the same. I have been very happy with their services.

They were very prompt and fair. They were very polite too. They provided neat and clean service. They tell you what time they are going to be there and they are there at that time. They tell you what to do and how much it?s going to cost. They also tell you right off when there are parts that have to be replaced. They inform you about the cost upfront and they don?t give you any surprise by charging more later on. They provide service for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They also provide service to Westchester, NY and Fairfield & Greenwich, CT. They also give you a half hour window and let you know by calling you back when they are going to be late. They also provide heating and air conditioning service.

My old boiler caught fire a couple of times, so I figured it was time to start from scratch with a new installation. I called a few companies for estimates, and most responded the same way. They sent a salesman over (who didn't know much more about boilers than an average homeowner) and they took pictures so that they could return to their offices where their Boiler God could examine the pictures, make some off-the-cuff recommendation, and return an estimate without any detail beyond "will install boiler". Not so with Bruni & Campisi. For starters, their Boiler God, Doug, actually came to my house. Doug was like a walking HVAC encyclopedia, telling me exactly what was wrong with my existing system, and presenting me with replacement choices. He also patiently gave detailed answers to all of my questions -- and in plain English, not condescendingly filled with industry jargon. I took notes as he spoke, and later went on line to read up on boilers. Simply put, Doug was right about everything he said. And even better, he answers his own phone and returns phone calls. What a difference between that and "No one is in the office now; please leave a message so that we won't call back blah blah blah..." The price estimate included a detailed checklist of everything that they were going to do. As it happened, this checklist was only a minimum. (For instance, they reversed the circulation direction in my house, even though that was not in the contract.) And their price was about average. I suppose I could have maybe paid somewhat less elsewhere, but why would I have wanted to? I mean, I could save money by eating food out of dumpsters too, but why would I want to do that? Anyway, the job took three days and two installers. The senior installer, Jack, was polite, thorough, meticulous, and exceptionally patient with my questions about what he was doing. Just to be on the safe side, though, I downloaded an installation manual for the boiler so I could make sure that Jack was doing everything correctly. Of course, I couldn't understand half of what was in the manual, but Jack stuck exactly to what was required in the parts I did understand. (And no, I wasn't continuously hovering over him with a manual and a magnifying glass...) They finished the job right on time, neatly labeled all the pipes, patiently explained how my new boiler works, and cleaned up the room. Best of all, the new system works flawlessly, and I no longer have to worry about fires. I have no complaints, and only wish that every service company could be as professional and Bruni & Campisi. Nice job, guys!

We realized on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend that we had no hot water. We repeatedly re-lit the pilot light, but it would not stay lit. We called for emergency service the next morning and the technician arrived within an hour. He showed us the singed thermocouple and replaced it. Because he was very good at answering questions, we paid for an additional half-hour of time to ask about water heater performance, maintenance, vacation procedures, etc, resolving some ongoing concerns.

awesome! Tom showed up on time and one by one ticked the things off the list. He was professional - easy to chat it up with, and went straight to work. He didnt seem to mind me hoovering over him asking all sorts of silly questions. Watching him, made me soo glad I called Bruni & Campisi instead of being a weekend warrior! I would not have been able to do what he did ... ever! He didnt dilly-dally at all. All the parts were on the truck, and he even made something that he needed! When he was done, he explained everything to me, and then again to my wife and patiently answered alllll our questions. Every space he worked in was cleaned up, and everything put back in its place before he moved on to the next. All of the things he repaired continues to remain fixed, without any problems. I would highly recommend this company - and Tom! - he is one terrific plumber and A/C guy!

Extremely professional from start to finish. Company provided an estimate that was very fair and did the work exactly as promised. Very responsive and flexible with several changes that we made midway through the project. The A/C system is great and the installation was done so well that the lines and hoses are barely visible. Highly recommended.

Contractor arrived, exchanged heat pump. Contractor claimed to have spotted severe corbonization and threatened to shut the unit off - leaving us (incl. child) without heat for the night. After longer negotiation we agreed that we would do the intensive cleaning and maintenance of the heater that same day - and not wait for another day during the summer. Maintenance $150 (no material), cleaning $165 (no material)....in my view this is a rip off. Long discussions at the end about the bill where he wanted to charge for even more 'half hours' of $55 a piece.

Response from Bruni & Campisi
This customer contacted us and indicated they had 'no heat'. We responded the same day and found a defective circulating pump that required replacement. In order to replace the pump, the system needed to be drained, refilled and bled of all air - a time consuming process. We advised the customer, quoted the cost and replaced the circulator. Upon re-starting the system, our technician noted that flames were rolling out from the combustion chamber. This is a safety issue as it can cause loss of property and life due to the possibility of causing a fire or even possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Our technician advised the homeowner of the issue and that it was being caused because the combustion chamber was partially sooted-up and clogged, causing the flames to exit the chamber from the side of the heating plant and that it must be corrected or we must leave the system 'off'. [The correction for this problem is to disassemble the boiler as necessary and thoroughly clean the interior passages of the boiler to remove the soot; another labor-intensive process.] As a licensed plumbing contractor, indeed as professionals, we cannot allow such a dangerous condition to remain in operation. Although this customer was certainly not bound to utilize our services, we could not leave the residence in a dangerous condition and advised them of such. We subsequently cleaned the carbonized boiler, checked it thoroughly to verify its proper operation, verified proper operation of the circulating pump and left the customer with a properly and safely operating heating system. Our technician started this service call at 2:03pm and completed at 8:58pm, and spent almost 7 hours on this service call (4-1/2hrs on overtime). We try to perform our work as professionally as possible. No consumer 'wants' to have a problem like this, but when it does, you rely on professionals like us to diagnose it and correct it properly. Had we simply replaced the circulator but left the customer with an unsafely operating heating system system, we would have left them in a dangerous condition and we could have been liable for the consequences. Worse yet: had the heating system continued to operate in such a dangerous condition, this consumer (incl. child) might not be here today.

We called them in to fix a leak from a tub/shower. The first repair person looked at the pipes and walls and declared that the grout needed to be replaced. This ended up as totally incorrect and we had the problem corrected by another plumber. He also stated that a key part of the shower assembly should be replaced to improve water flow, and pre-charged me for the part. It took over 3 weeks to take care of it since they kept ordering the wrong part. When they finally got the correct part, the repairman (not the one who originally came) installed it incorrectly, not even knowing where the washers should go. We had to have that corrected by another plumber as well. This was a total waste of my money and I will actively discourage anyone from using them.

Very pleased. See prior note. P.S. Our homeowner's insurance covered the damage.
Description of Work: I researched this company on Angie's List to replace a cracked steam heat boiler. The co-owner came to estimate the damage/cost. He was prompt and first asked if we had homeowner's insurance. We did. This provided relief to us. The estimate was fair and complete. He provided a detailed estimate regarding replacement. We decided to proceed, but had to wait a week or two. I was out of town.... Anyway, they provided electric space heaters for comfort (as many as needed). When it came time to replace it, they showed up on time. A day and half later we had a new, more efficient steam heat boiler. We were walked through the details of its use, and all our radiators were inspected, too. We now have heat throughout the house; even in the third floor finished attic. Bring on the winter!

Overall it went well. They scheduled the appt. appx. 1 week in advance and came on the agreed date and within a wide time window. They were only able to give me a window of between 9am and 1pm. They came over around 10:30am. When I scheduled the appt. the telephone person said that the maintenance visit was $146 plus any parts. However, when the technician showed up, after appx. 45 minutes, he indicated that the $146 only covered an hour of his time and that he would need to charge another $50 per half hour for additional time. While I was surprised by this, I agreed to an additional half hour to complete the work as I had slowed things up by asking questions.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a house in Yonkers with a natural gas boiler/steam heating system. B&C came over to provide a review and system maintenance. The service person cleaned the burner elements of the boiler and other internal/external parts, did an efficiency check on it, and drained the boiler. He also spent a little time at my request explaining how the system worked and what normal maintenance I should be performing (I have never had this kind of a heating system before so this was helpful.)

Needed to replace our approximately 30 year old boiler because of a large crack. We received a number of estimates, but felt that Bruni & Campisi was the most knowledgeable about steam heat, even though they weren't the cheapest but were about the average price. In addition to the crack in our boiler we had inconsistent heat to some parts of our house, and they recommended that we replace the boiler first, see how it affects the other problems, and take it from there. We liked this approach better than spending more money outright that might not be necessary. Installation was a 2 day job, the workers were very efficient, knowledgeable and tested the heat and effectiveness before leaving. We had the boiler installed at the end of the summer so have just had the chance to use it on some of the chilly mornings lately and we are very pleased with how it's working so far.

My husband had tried to fix this faucet two times, but the cartridge inside needed replacing and there is a special tool to get it open and get to it. The plumber had the tool and was able to get it done right away. We had company coming that night, so I was glad to see they were as prompt at responding as usual. We have used them for about 20 years now and they are always quick at responding. Only one time in 20 years did a guy come out that did not really know what he was doing. We called because the problem wasn't fixed and they immediately sent someone else out and fixed it at no extra charge. That was quite a while ago, but it only happened once. They also do our annual air conditioning check-up.

I do not remember the price at this time, but I can say they were a little expensive. That is OK though, they did a perfect job and helped us out during a weekend that we needed hot water badly. I will use them again and recommend them to others that don't mind the cost as much as they do the quality of a job and product they need.

I was really disappointed with them. They screwed up the first time and they didn't do what we asked them to do. We asked them to replace the pipes and they said it was impossible. So he did a totally half job and charged my wife 400 dollars for the pipes. They were already broken again when I came home from work. I called numerous times to have them come back. They finally replaced the pipes with copper cover pipes to fix the problem. That cost me an extra 100 dollars. I was pretty disappointed.

The work went incredibly well. The men came on time and if they were going to be late they called in advance. They protected my floors. They dealt with some complications involving the installation professionally and quickly. They provided follow up visits to perfect the installation. In the course of testing the system they found an additional problem involving the water pressure entering our home and bid on that job and did a brilliant job fixing that as well. I trust this company. They may not have been the lowest bid, but they weren't the highest and it was clear that the system they fitted to my home was appropriate for this home. This company I will trust to continue maintenance on the new boiler/heating system as well.
Description of Work: I had an estimator (Dave Riggins) come out to help us figure out what would be the best boiler for our home. We had the original Burnham boiler and the original cast iron baseboard hydronic system. Dave's bid and the information he provided were excellent and he was always available as we sought extra details. The company removed the old boiler, put in the new boiler, retrofitted as necessary and came back twice to fix a problem with the co2 and the flue for no extra charge and on their own motivation (that is, they inspected their work and brought in new technicians on their own to fine tune). In addition, in a time when everyone wants the most "energy efficient" boiler, this company was able to clearly explain why the installation of such an expensive system in a 1955 ranch with my specific system and a damp sub-grade basement would be a waste of money. I specifically recommend our estimator, Dave Riggins, who was incredible, as well as our installers, Jimmy and Foster.
