They were very efficient. I had no problem getting them out here. You don't have to wait all day long to gave somebody show of. The guys came, they were very honest and some of the things they said they could do, others they said they would really not mind if I did it which I thought shows some integrity on their part. They did the job they were supposed to do.

I called to have a leak checked out in my rental property. After rescheduling the appointment 3 times. they went when my tenants were home and looked at it and suggested a repair, but as it was no longer leaking they did not do anything other than tighten a washer. They then billed me $210 on my credit card, when the charge should have been $110 for a half hour of work. I have called Bruni and Campisi 4 times now and they do not return my calls and the billing woman is always conveniently "at lunch". I am fed up with them and feel like I have gotten fleeced.

This customer is correct and we would like to apologize. Our technician overcharged her. He spent just over a half hour on the call and accidentally charged for a full hour. The customer was subsequently credited a half hour. Our records show that the service call was also rescheduled as the customer states, though at least one of the appointments was moved because the tenant was unable to keep the appointment. This happens quite frequently when working with landlords and we are happy to accommodate the best we can. While not an excuse, unfortunately this incident occurred during the time our servers were down leaving our staff to manage things longhand and without our computer database adding to the confusion. Again, we apologize. We recognized our mistake and made an effort to make it right. We hope you'll give us another chance to meet your expectations in the future.

Fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the technician came. The person I spoke to on the phone made sure I knew the after-hours rate, as did the technician before starting the work. He explained everything and I trust that he fixed the problem in the best possible way.
Description of Work: I had the drain pipe from my kitchen sink break at 8pm yesterday, and didn't know what to do. My parents had used this company in the past so I gave them a call. They were able to replace the broken pipe and a second weak pipe (that was about to break) and have my kitchen sink up and running again within 2 hours of when I called for service. The technician was polite, explained everything clearly, and even gave me some advice on how to prevent this type of problem in the future.

Phoned Bruni & Campisi ("B&C") on 1/28 to schedule a time for someone to visit my unit and give a quote / guidance on replacing my round (flushometer) toilet as part of a much larger bathroom renovation I'm doing with Home Depot. I DO NOT need my flushometer changed; it's simply the bowl being changed from round to elongated. The difficulty is finding a reputable and COMPETENT plumber who can share trustworthy feedback/guidance. My hope is that I have found it in B&C but that is yet to be determined... B&C plumber, Sal Lembo, arrives about 30-40 mins late from the appointment window I was originally given. Their office managed well his late arrival by keeping me abreast of how near he was to my home and I appreciated that....even though I could have taken less hours off from work as a result of the tardiness. Things happen, so I understand. Notwithstanding, Sal arrives and is courteous and moves quickly. Sal advised that I needed to locate a toilet with certain specs (i.e., distance from the back wall and a certain size bowl), advised me to take pics of the bathroom to the vendor selling the toilet. Total charge is $100+ for his 20 mins visit. I asked Sal to suggest a plumbing vendor that sells these types of non-traditional tank toilet bowls since I was having major difficulty locating a COMPETENT one on my own. Sal suggested Consolidated Plumbing Supply in Mt Vernon. Long story short, on Saturday 2/16/13 morning at 10a, I visit Consolidated and a salesman there gives me a toilet w/specs that appear to fit the parameters Sal left for me and suggested I confirm with Sal that the toilet specs meets his guidance since he has already seen my bathroom/toilet. On Saturday 2/16/13 at 10:47a, I phoned B&C to see if I could briefly speak w/Sal to go over the specs I'd just rec'vd. The B&C male rep told me that Sal was in the field and he would pass along my contact info to Sal to give me a call back. No call back on Saturday 2/16/13 and certainly no call back on Sunday 2/17/13. Still no call back on Mon 2/18/13 (Presidents' holiday) but a working day for B&C. By 3p on Mon 2/18/13, I called B&C again to check in for a status. MaryEllen (apparently a new administrative employee) tells me that Sal is in the field. I was originally going to drive to their office but decided against that. Instead, I sent a fax of the 2 page toilet spec sheet to B&C's office to be left for Sal's review and call back to me. MaryEllen confirmed receipt of the fax and that it was left in Sal's mailbox. So back to the waiting game. On Tuesday 2/19/13, I call B&C in the morning (9a) to see if I can pin down Sal. Apparently, not... I was told that Sal was to start being in the field at/around 12noon that day. So I ask MaryEllen to please (!) again notify Sal to phone me back w/his feedback on his the spec sheet, all the while leaving the details of the toilet guidance from Sal with MaryEllen so that there wasn't any 'tail chasing'/time wasted and B&C/Sal do not have any further 'excuses' to not return my call. No call back at noon on Tues 2/19. In fact, I ended up having to call B&C yet again that afternoon to check in given the non-response. I was told by a gentleman that Mary/MaryEllen would follow-up with Sal and give me a call back by the end of day that day. True story, I FINALLY (!!) did get a call back from Mary as promised BUT was told that Sal still hadn't gotten around to looking at the specs as he hasn't yet gotten back to Mary. Mary says that she's sure that by the next day (Wed 2/20), they'll be able to get me the info I'm needing. At this point, this is clearly a circus performance b/c only clown-like beings can perform this well. Successful customer service is severely lacking. Here it is, Wed 2/20, and Home Depot has again called me to see if I've finalized that portion of the toilet work so they can appropriately book my appointment for my bathroom renovation. I have no choice but to tell Home Depot that I'm STILL waiting on B&C to get their act together so, after all, I can CONTRACT B&C and book Home Depot to do this work. I just got another call from Mary at B&C and again was told that Sal is still in the field and hasn't yet gotten around to giving a simple yes or no answer to my question. Totally unacceptable. At that point, I make it clear to Mary that if I "do not RESOLUTELY hear back from Sal by tomorrow (Thurs 2/21), I will be on my way and contract a separate plumber" who is COMPETENT and CAPABLE of following through on steps I'd taken from their suggestion. So the saga continues as of 2/20, 1:39p ET, and i'll make certain to update this review accordingly. My hope is that this will be finalized tomorrow but, at this point, my confidence in B&C has diminised so severely that I'm prepared to call Consolidated and ask them to suggest a COMPETENT plumber...since B&C can't seem to meet that requirement as of yet. If I'm having this difficulty just getting them to confirm simple specs, I can't imagine the circus that would play out when it comes time to having B&C complete my co-op's paperwork required for the toilet change. By the way, B&C needs to walk into the 21st century and update their website to include their business hours. Of course, every plumber has it noted on their web site that they can service 24 hours, but since they do have a storefront/office, that office obviously has hours of operation to find personnel.
Description of Work: Interestingly enough, I was actually referred to Bruni & Campisi by a Home Depot manager who is coordinating bathroom renovation for my Westchester co-op. Who would have thought it would quickly turn this sour of an experience.

I use this company exclusively for servicing of my heating/AC system. I have found them to be excellent! They are reliable, punctual and responsible. They also previously corrected duct work for me that was incorrectly done by a contractor during a renovation. I would have been without heat/cooling if not for their assessment and correction, and so I have come to rely on them to know I will get the job done properly.

I contacted Bruni and Campisi about converting my home from oil to gas sometime in April and I contacted 3 recommended plumbers from Angies List. One gave me a higher estimate without the outdoor reset, the other one never contacted me back (despite following up) and Bruni and Campisi that provided us with the best estimate and the best work. Initially, they sent Douglas who has many years of experience conducting these conversions and he was very helpful in terms of coming up with a good plan for the home and gave me some other ideas regarding on how to improve the home in the future. He was very clear that ConEd was very behind in new installations and that it would take a lot of time to get the work completed. As part of the process, he connected me with Vince who completed a home energy assessment and helped me apply for low cost financing for the conversion. Vince's assessment was very helpful in seeing future areas that we can focus on in terms of saving money by becoming more energy efficient. Douglas and the administrative staff at Bruni and Campisi were excellent in putting pressure on ConEd to move the work along. It is my opinion, that this work would not have been completed so quickly if they weren't a squeaky wheel. During the installation, they sent 2 groups of plumbers (2 each time). One group installed a majority of the interior plumbing. The other group finished some of the interior plumbing and installed the new boiler while removing the old one. All of the plumbers were excellent, did a great job, were respectful and cleaned up after themselves every day. Overall, our experience was phenomenal. All of the staff were professional, did excellent work, responsive, on time, cleaned up after themselves, etc. They even included a good programmable thermostat for free that was not included in the contract to help improve our energy efficiency.

The work seemed thorough at the time however the mechanic did not remain to see how the boiler functioned once fully functioning again. Later when the boiler came up full steam I detected a leak coming from the sight glass. I called the company to have them come to rectify the problem. At first they tried to say it was not their fault but I protested that they had written the work up as being satisfactory. I further pointed out that the leak from the boiler site glass was not present prior to their work. A second plumber was sent out. He said the leak was the result of a faulty seating of the sight glass. The mechanic tried to adjust the glass but was unsuccessful after two additional calls. Finally he said that the sight glass would have to be replaced. He came back again with a replacement sight glass which he himself cut down to size but he had to be called yet again because it still leaked. His final solution backed by the company was that I would need new plumbing attachments to the tune of several hundred dollars because due to the vintage of my boiler he was not able to make the adjustments necessary to the supporting pipes in order to seat the sight glass properly. I called in another plumber for the repair. He informed me that the Bruni and Campisi plumber had installed a jagged sight glass which caused the leak. The new plumber refitted the jagged sight glass and the boiler once again operated properly. The charge was a service call.
Description of Work: The company gave me the annual boiler tune up. The work seemed thorough at the time however the mechanic did not remain to see how the boiler functioned once fully up to steam.

I was very pleased with the service. appointment was for 8:30 and the technician arrived at 8:25; they also called the night before to confirm. The bulk of the cost was in the labor charge which was $120 an hour--i don't know if this is high or low relative to others, but i didn't feel that he stretched the work to fill the time. there was a parts charge of $79 which seemed reasonable. I know that many companies add a "service" charge (in this case $50) but i always struggle to understand why this is necessary in addition to the labor cost. the jobs were straightforward--there was no diagnosis needed! the technician was very courteous and professional, explained what the problems were and what he was doing to fix it, and applied the angie's discount coupon without question.

Unlike other people I had bad experience with them. When I called and asked for service technician to come I got great response - the same day serviceand he was right on time. However, after spending 30 minutes he told me he cant really fix my problem and that I need an estimator to come over and write up a bit. yet, I still was charged for a service call (which makes sense) and an hour of work (even though absolutely nothing was done). Estimator called couple of days later, then came to the house (again on time) and looked at the issue. I asked for couple of options to be provided right away. Instead I got one proposal only for the most expensive option and only 4 days later. Of course, by then I already had someone else fix the issue for a lot less money than was quoted. It maybe that my issue was not very trivial or they just didnt want to deal with it. Not very impressed.

Unfortunately we can not please all of our customers all of the time, but that is not due to a lack of trying. In this particular case, our estimator arrived at 6pm on a Wednesday and determined the customer had an AC coil that failed and was inaccessible due to ductwork in the way and its location in a crawlspace. The homeowner did ask for several options but after conveying our findings, he made it clear that he wanted to correct the problem the right way and not simply put a band-aid on the issue. Our solution was to remove all ductwork in the crawlspace, replace the AC coil, then re-install the ducts and seal up the system. It is also true that the homeowner received his proposal 4 days after the estimators visit. The estimator arrived on a Wednesday evening and the customer received his proposal by the following Monday meaning 2 of the 4 days were lost to the weekend. While we are disappointed we did not meet the expectations of this customer, we take pride in our work and truly try to solve the problem correctly the first time. If we do not, it is a lose-lose for both Bruni & Campisi and the customer for when a quick solution fails, the customer is unhappy and nobody is to blame but us.

We put out bids for the job in March 2012, they were the first of 4 bidders. Their price was good, but we also had the confidence that they would be the best contractor to do the job, and we were right. Their designer/estimator Doug is highly respected in the area and worked with us to develop a system that would be the best value and most functional for our current needs and for the next 30 years. They have a department exclusively dedicated to navigating the permitting and financing of these types of projects and handled all aspects of our local permitting, energy audits, financial submittals (thru NYSERDA), equipment rebate submittals, and all associated paperwork. Their plumbers are top-notch, friendly, professional, and neat with decades of experience and an ingrained knowledge of plumbing and HVAC codes. They promised a neat job and they gave us a neat job, plus they gave us some extras when most contractors would have said "that is not in our contract". I know these guys have a lot of pride in a well put-together and executed job, and with all the horror stories out there, this experience had a very happy ending. The best "tell" you can get from your contractor is when you ask them why they supplied this piece of equipment or installed it in that way, and they tell you "that's what I put in my house", you know you are getting quality. A+ for B & C !!
Description of Work: Installed entire new heating system, incl. boiler, hot water heater, gas conversion, piping, controls, manifolding, and tie-ins.
