Description of Work: Even though I had my zipcode as Suffolk, Angie's List still had this contractor as servicing my area. He only does the tri-state. However, he was prompt in returning my call and very professional.

 + -1 moreI explained the problems I was having with leaks entering my house and Charles Stewart's son-in-law, in charge of the assessment of the roof, brought 2 men who patched up the problem areas while he supervised. The assessment revealed that I would eventually need a new flat roof but for the current situation I opted for patching the immediate problem areas. The work was completed within half an hour. Before leaving I asked for his business card. I was given a quote for a new roof & I hope to have Charles Stewart Roofing return in the warmer months to install a new flat roof.
Description of Work: Assessed the entire roof & sealed the problem areas where potential leaks may have occurred.

 + -1 moreThe men showed up on time and worked the entire day and finished all 3 (smaller) roofs and added new flashing. They were pleasant and efficient. Bill White,the supervisor, was extremely concerned that the work was being done correctly. I would definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreThe service went well. He did a good job. My only negative about it was that I got the impression, he was trying to sell me the whole job. He was pushing for me to replace my upper gutters but I only had a problem with my lower gutters. He did a good job. The pricing was reasonable.

However, the team from Charles Stewart were fine with answering all many questions and were very professionalism. I had done a little reseach on resealing roofs and it was nice to see that we were all on the same page regarding resealing. Should I have a need for addtional help with my roof. Charles Stewart will be my first call.

 + -1 moreExcellently, no more leak from roof (after many years of leaking). Chimney restored and looking great.
Description of Work: Roof had been "mysteriously" leaking for several years in one spot. Several other contractors could not pinpoint source of leak and said that it had to be "coming in under the rafters" or being wind blown through the rafters. Mr. Stewart and his whole crew came bright and early on a Saturday morning and did the $99. roof inspection which included reflashing some vent holes on the roof. He then showed me the pictures of the roof and the likely causes of the leakage, as well as the outside of my main brick chimney that had large chunks of masonry peeling off the back of it and was molded and crumbling. I was shown a complete file of pictures of the problems. The leak was due to a small hole that was deep under some relatively new roofing and had not been repaired when the roof was put on several years ago. Mr. Stewart discussed the price for the repairs . It was a very fair price, considering the damage that had been done. Since the entire crew was there, the project started and was able to be completed that same day, about 8 hours later. The roof section was replaced, plywood, felt, and new shingles applied that match the original shingles. The chimney was re "mortared" on the back side and waterproofed and painted. It looks like a new chimney and fortunately the original brickwork still shows and was not covered. The entire crew was very polite, hardworking, professional, and cleaned up. I was very pleased.

 + 1 moreBill and his workers ( 5 ) showed up 15 minutes before scheduled app. were very respectfull looked at the roof ,took pictures of the work that was needed to be done and then we haggled a little over the price . They started the job right away and were finished in 5 hrs. cleaned everything up and bagged all the garbage which was then picked up by one of their trucks. Now we just have to see how it holds up during the winter months , but was given a 10yr warranty and assured by Bill if any problems he would come back .

 + 2 moreThe job went well. They did everything they said they would do and anything I asked of them. I couldn't be more pleased with the job. The only thing I would like are pictures of the roof. The young man said he would email them but they may have gone to the wrong email?
Description of Work: Charles Stewart, the owner, inspected my roof and took pictures. He gave me various options including repairs or a new roof. I opted for the new roof and the same day he and his crew brought materials and installed a completely new rubberized Firestone roof with white granules so the sun's rays are reflected off the roof in summer, keeping the house cooler. They did flashing all around the walls and wherever necessary. They cleaned out my gutters and drain pipes. In the front of my house I have a slate roof that had broken and missing tiles. They replaced all the broken and missing tiles and then sealed the entire area. Charles and his team are very nice and accommodating and I would highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs.

When I arrive home I went on the roof he showed me the work that comes with the $99.00 special then gave me his evaluation of my roof. After that he offered to coat my roof with a sealant at a discounted price. Charles Stewart is a very nice man that runs the family business.

Everyone else gave me the run around and was obviously trying to empty my pockets without giving me the right advice. He rubberized my hatch to cover and fix the hatch, and sealed everything well. The owner was on hand and the workers were polite and neat. I would definitely recommend them.
