very well. great to work with. first class work. we just hired them again to do extensive repair work that resulted from a plumbing leak.

We were planning a major renovation and requested an estimate from McKean Building. Mike McKean came to our home to get the initial information and returned a couple of weeks later with the estimate. He also had to make an adjustment to the estimate due to some alterations that were decided upon. Those were emailed to us. Each time Mike was prompt, courteous and very professional. He was easy to speak with and helped us to picture our whole project more clearly. Mike provided us with a lengthy list of references, and we did contact several of the people. We also went to the home of one of the customers who was having another project done at that time. The people had graciously invited us to see Mike's work. We were pleased with the quality of work we saw, and the customers had many positive things to say about Mike and his crews. We obtained two other quotes for the work to be done at our home and chose a different contractor. Mainly this was due to price with other factors being quite similar. We would consider hiring McKean Building another time should the opportunity arise.

He was really nice and very thorough. He gave us a detailed estimate. It was all good. It was just gone to another contractor because of price and timing.

Mike helped us plan and gave us good workers who were prompt and courteous. Our kitchen looks great, as does the staining work done in other parts of the house.

It was very smooth.

Initially planned on the new wall being constructed of glass blocks. During construction it became evident that the proposed end product would not be what we envisioned, resulting in our deciding on a solid wall. A water leakage issue was found in outside wall that was not, in our minds, fully investigated (later addressed by another contractor doing work on the outside). We have continuing issues with the glass wall/door. We assume such rests with the manufacturer (most likely design issue), not with installation. Otherwise, construction and finishing was very good. End product looks good. Noted above that we would not likely utilize this contractor in the future...that has to do more with the highly satisfactory work of another contractor we have utilized as with the issues set forth above.

Mike was the only contractor who scheduled his follow up visit on the day he surveyed what I needed. In this 1929 home, my entire kitchen and bathroom needed remodeling, thus, we did need to anticipate some under-the-surface repairs. Every day Mike came to the site, keeping me apprised of the progress and clarifying anything that needed fine-tuning. He works with only the best, ensuring that his team is on time, cleans up, and professional. Even though we needed to wait a couple of days for a tile-worker, Mike assured me that it would be well worth it, as this guy was the best in the industry. He was right.Ultimately, I have a beautiful kitchen and bath, including working with my unique vanity (an antique buffet) that I requested be cut to my specifications. Mike completed the job from start to finish in the timeframe he anticipated.

Mike is genuine, caring and attentive to detail and available all the time. We will be spending about $38,000. We are not knocking down the walls but everything is pretty much new. His price is reasonable. We will use him in the future.
